Unlike in some of the larger more corporate run lodges we had a much more intimate experience at Etusis. We were greeted by the host (and their pet meerkat 🙂) and subsequently dined with our hosts and other guests around a single table (eating lovely home cooked food introduced to us by the lodge chef). After dinner we sat outside enjoying the tranquility while watching the bats and a nightjar catch insects in the glow of the waterhole floodlight. Our accommodation was comfortable and private, set within the mature gardens looking out towards nearby hills which we walked within. Our only regret was having booked for one night only.

The lodge sits in a beautiful valley, completely secluded and private. The rooms were private and well apointed. The food was excellent and served outside which was wonderful. The pool was lovely and the crazy golf super hard! We took a sundowner and saw springbok and zebra. The second day we rode horses up to the waterfall (dry at that time of year) which was a morning to remember. This hotel was one of the highlights of our holiday in Namibia. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Adele and the manager were warm and accommodating. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. We forgot our laptop and they ensures it was forwarded to Karibib so we don’t have to come back . What a service! They are truly amazing people!
We arrived at night and we got lost . The gravel road was a bit rough.

Breakfast was good. The cactii in the gardens were very tastefully arranged. Off the beaten track a bit...but better for it. Being able to horse ride in the evening and early morning was a real plus. Nice swimming pool with plenty of shade and fresh towels.

This is an exceptional property. Monika could not do enough and I was made to feel very welcome. The food was proper home cooked fayre. I was looking for a place to chill and relax and it was perfect. I would definitely visit again.
Hardly a criticism but Wifi is only available in the Lodge and not the rooms. Not a big deal as there were plenty of private areas in the lodge in which to work.

- The farm & lodging is well kept and nice to walk around
- We went horse riding for sundowners! Loved it!
- The family atmosphere during dinner as everyone sits at a long table
- They were able to accommodate a vegan diet
You really feel removed from everywhere else in the world! My husband & I loved our 2day stay and met wonderful interesting people while we were day.

Amazing place, Johan and Monica are great hosts, they warmly welcomed us and the place feels straight away like "coming home". The cabins are spacious and can sleep up to four. They are located in a beautiful garden around the pool. Private and quiet. Excellent food. Wonderful trails around the lodge for 1 up to 2 hours hikes and the waterhole is breathtaking

A great location, far from the madding crowds. Lovely bungalow with aircon. The grounds were well kept, as was everything. The property were able to provide a vegetarian meal at short notice which was delicious. Breakfast was very good. The 2 volunteers who were working with the horses were delightful. There are a couple of walks to do and horse riding if you want it.
Nothing to dislike.

We had a fantastic time at Etusis lodge. Peaceful and beautiful location, very nice trails possibilities on the property and above all wonderful hospitality from Monika and her husband. The food was delicious, such a great idea to share dinner all together on a large table, we felt like home! Highly recommended, we will definitely come back!

The staff where amazing and George the manager made you feel so at home. Just wish I had more time to explore the water hole, hike, horse riding etc. Also the gravel road in a sedan is quite an adventure just to get there in the dark 😀 😄 😳

Landscape and Mountain views exceptional. Horseback riding, hiking, meals and relaxing by crystal clear pool provides a very worthy spot to stay. Staff eager to accommodate and make stay most enjoyable.
As with most lodges in Namibia game viewing is suffering. We did see zebra kudu birds and small critters. Lack of game does not overshadow the grandeur of this spot. The huts for sleeping are in great condition, quaint, charming but not new. Longstanding legacy of lodge has a warm feeling. Bed comfortable and air conditioned room.
