Nice stay, absolutely recommendable

The accomodation is sorrounded by a beautiful landscape. We had beautiful sundowns from our terrace. There is a waterhole to draw wild animals only 50m from the rooms, even though we were not lucky enough to see any wild animals. The rooms were very big, the equipment was good. Also, insect spray was provided. Dinner was from a small menu, varied over different days. Breakfast: bacon and eggs or omlette and some toast. The personal was very friendly. In the morning, even our car was washed (which was quite necessary in the sandy sorrounding). We can absolutely recommend the accomodation.

Bardzo piękne miejsce, basen bardzo przydatny w wysokich temperaturach. Dobre jedzenie, uprzejmy personel. Komfortowe pokoje z bardzo wygodnymi łóżkami, z tarasami, w bezpośredniej bliskości rezerwat gepardów.

El trato del personal, muy simpático y atentos siempre.La comida muy buena y con variedad. El cuidado y limpieza de las instalaciones muy bueno, la decoración de todo es muy bonita. Las habitaciones grandes y el sitio muy tranquilo

Des giraffes nous acceuillent sur la petite route qui mène au lodge, puis c'est au tour du staff adorable de nous faire visiter les lieux. Il s'agit d'une ancienne ferme achetée à l'après guerre, et à la source de developpement de la micro ville de solitaire (essence, boutique, restaurant..). Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses avec un toit de chaume. La piscine doit sur un waterhole dans lequel les animaux viennent s'abreuver le soir. La cuisine du restaurant est généreuse et la cheffe se plie en quatre pour répondre aux intolerances alimentaires! J'ai eu droit à des cakes sans gluten pour le petit déjeuner. Solitaire Mountain Lodge était autrefois Solitaire desert farm. A ne pas confondre non plus avec les établissement non loins à Solitaire !

Too expansive for the price. Room was not in a good state of maintenance. Friendly staff but dinner was wrong 2 times, overcharging our real bill… not pleasant

A gem in the desert

The food was excellent. The rooms spacious. Beds okay for tall people. Wonderful accommodation

The name of the location is not correct. The Solitaire desert farm is now called Mountain Lodge. So when you use Google maps you end up on a campsite. The booked safari was canceled at the last minute.

Un oasis en el desierto

Lo mejor del alojamiento yo diría que es la piscina, ya que pude estar prácticamente sola con las vistas al desierto y es increíble. La habitación súper amplia, limpia y con todo lo necesario. También me dieron una bolsa de desayuno porque me iba temprano y la verdad que súper completa. El personal muy atento también!

Me parece un punto bastante negativo que no haya wifi en las habitaciones ni en la piscina, solo está en recepción.

Worth the drive all the way from Windhoek and the money spend.

It is a beautiful place and the location is awesome. The set up and everything is really just the best.

The WIFI connection around the place is terrible, you can only get connected when you are by the reception area. The room takes in too much dust for my liking.

Nice place to discover the Namibian desert and the small pool was definitively a plus

The desert lodge does not steal its name as it is located in the middle of the desert . The view on the surrounding landscape is beautiful and the accomadation quite cosy and nice.

We almost stepped on a scorpion which was in front of our door and which I fortunately noticed in time to warn my partner who might have stepped on it upon opening the door. We had not been warned about this potential hazard and I am not sure if they would have any medication in case of a bite ?? Also the breakfast was not tasty with dry bread and butter which was brownish as it stayed to long out of the frodge. The staff while friendly is very limited in their communication skills due to a poor command of English .

Pool was really lovely.

Shame food wasn’t included in price as there are no other options nearby so no choice. Also no lunch options provided so days by the pool meant no lunch!

Wonderful stay in Solitaire

Everything was perfect. It is a very beautiful and quite place. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The service was outstanding. The food was really amazing. We truly enjoyed our stay and we definitely recommend it!

The scenery is amazing. The facilities are just as beautiful as advertised. However....the highlight was the friendliness of the staff. Thank you, Nicole and team, for an amazing stay. Nicole, you are definitely the most friendliest host I have come across in all of my travels. You deserve a manager role at the establishment.

Exceptional

Great staff! They are always willing to help and make you feel as comfortable as possible. After a night we wanted to change to Solitaire Country Lodge, and that was no problem at all. There the staff is also amazing! Hope to be back one day!

overrated, no dinner and no breakfast at lodge

The only staff member was an interim from a hospitality school. No manager, no security. She helped us very well and was doing her utmost best.

Very basic rooms, lights did not work, shower needs replacement. No manager, no security at night. We had to drive 8 km one way to get our dinner and breakfast, total 32km. Only one choice of dinner, same for breakfast (only full english), nothing for vegi’s. No yoghurt, no fresh food. Dinner was simple and not tasty. Swimming pool was being renovated. Normally I do not post anything but this was so realy disappointed, especially because I choose this lodge of his high ratings. This came as a complete surprise. They blame Covid but still dare to ask Eur 175 per room.
