We were extremely impressed by the attention to detail to show the history and include a theme without it being tacky or kitschy. We have experienced many high end and unique accommodations and this is one that is up there at the top for us.

The location and decor were amazing and the garden was so beautiful. We also enjoyed the lounge area as an additional space to relax.

Delicious fresh bread delivered every day; wonderful compotes to go with home made muesli. Great location, great views, and lovely friendly owners and staff. Beautifully maintained garden to sit and take in the views across Stanley nestled under the Nut.
I wish they ran a restaurant - the options in Stanley are ok, but there is nothing to match the quality of the stay at Stanley Inn in terms of level of service and the breakfast they provide.

Lovely, old historic hotel; Spacious rooms with substantial breakfast provided; Great location.
Noise from the upstairs room; lots of heavy footfall; upstairs rooms need more rugs/carpet.

I have wanted to stay at the Ship Inn since reading about it a few years ago in Country Living magazine - it did not disappoint. We were in the Moo-Nut-Re-Kerr room which is on the ground floor looking out over the beautiful back garden and up to the Nut. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom, lovely vintage furnishings, a small kitchenette and an outdoor terrace (just a bit too cold to use during our stay). Our other family members stayed in the Greenhills room - they loved their room too. Continental breakfast provided was great - fresh local bread and spreads and homemade muesli. Close to everything in Stanley. Self check-in worked fine. The communal Guest Lounge next door is very, very nice to spend some time in. Would love to go back.

Comfortable bed, wonderful breakfast provisions, fabulous surrounds & guest lounge and generally a superior property.
It was all fabulous!

It was so tastefully appointed whilst still maintaining the original character and history of the property. Everything seemed to be considered for travelers to give the most memorable experience of Stanley (luxury lounge area, beautiful garden under the nut!) whilst also providing practical facilities (Laundry, Gym, bikes)
We were happy with all aspects - So glad it was available

We were blown away by the ambiance of Roring Tom's apartment and the Billiard Hall. Beautifully decorated, calm and perfectly appointed. The lovely little touches of a beautiful breakfast, complimentary port after dinner all made our stay so special. We did not want to leave. Thank you very much

Breakfast was lovely, the facilities were exceptional and we all had a fabulous time there
There was nothing I didn't like

The room was well appointed and the breakfast supplies were delicious. The outlook was lovely and the styling very in keeping with the location.
There was nothing I didn’t like but I would have liked one of the pillows to have a smooth cotton pillow case rather than linen on all pillows (which is very minor).

The Shop Inn is such a unique and special property. The facilities are exceptional! The attention to detail is amazing, beautifully styled rooms with interesting thoughtful touches throughout. The shared areas are so warm and inviting, the garden is amazing, and the gym/laundry and bicycles are added extras that were much appreciated! We have already booked to come back and for longer! We believe 3 nights is the minimum you should stay here to fully relax and enjoy everything Stanley and the Ship Inn have to offer. can’t wait to return at Easter!

Given it was off season and many restaurants/cafes were closed, we had a wonderful stay. We felt it was rather pricey at the rate we paid. Continental Breakfast was included however other daytime and evening meals were limited in comparison to other towns in Tasmania. Overall it's absolutely delightful; a beautiful facility without doubt; such a picturesque part of the world; great hosts and highly recommended and beautifully styled.
It was very expensive for what it is.

Just a beautiful, peaceful well appointed property, one of the nicest we have ever stayed in around the world. We would Highly recommend anyone to stay at the Glorious Ship Inn in the absolute picture perfect seaside town of Stanley…..We will definitely be back for another visit.
Many thanks to Kerry & Alistair.
Absolutely nothing to complain about!
