Nanjo is a great host and made us feel very welcome. He also picked us up and dropped us back to Hakuba station - greatly appreciated when your carrying a lot of snow gear. Accomodation is very quaint and in a quiet area. Private onsen was fantastic after a hard day skiing.
No breakfast was available during our stay.

Zeer vriendelijke eigenaar: opgehaald bij het station en ook weer gebracht. Heerlijke privé onsen. Kamer is klein, maar alles aanwezig. Circa 10 minuten lopen naar restaurants / 7-11.

The kerosene heater in the room was noisy and gave off a really bad smell. There was a sign saying the heater provided ventilation too but the room was stuffy, dry and uncomfortable. I developed a bad headache and was worried about our health. I turned the heater off and opened the window in the middle of winter as I’d rather be cold than deal with the unbearable smell.

The owner was very lovely and offered to take us to Hakuba station. Made us feel very welcomed and advised us on things to do throughout hakuba and showed us a map of different attractions

Nancho, the owner, is really nice. The free pick-up and drop off from the train station is much appreciated. The location is nice, close enough to izakayas and amenities. Breakfast was delicious too (you pay 1200 extra per person). The garden was lovely.
We stayed in a double room, the bed was old and very creaky. As with most Japanese hotel rooms, it was small. Perhaps to make more room, the TV can be taken out unless the guest requests it or it can be suspended on the wall. Another previous guest has suggested a common lounge, we agree with this as the rooms are too small to stay in.

Absolutely everything! The location is perfect. The owner who welcomed us was very kind and friendly. The room is very cute, clean, organized and cozy. And the outside onsen, I could stay there for hours! Beautiful! I'm grateful and would like to come back more often!

Nanjo the host was amazing, he was very accommodating, kind, helpful and friendly. He made our stay very comfortable, like we were at home. We left our laptop on the shinkansen and he helped us call the JR station to retrieve it and get it delivered to the hotel. He also gave us lifts to rental shops and bus stations. He let us use the shower on the last day after checkout as we snowboarded on the last day. The onsen was the best thing after each snow trip. Everything was walking distance-The shops, atm, shuttle bus stops and restaurants at Echoland. We will definitely stay here again 👍😊😊
None-Everything was superb

Love everything about this property! Nanjo san, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. He picked us up from terminal to his place, and dropped us to terminal, all for free. Everything there was spotless! Onsen is free and can be used privately by following the house’s rule.
The ambience just serene and perfect after long day at ski slope. Too bad the cat in the picture already dead :(

Nanjo, our host, was most helpful and friendly! He drove us around a couple of times, to catch an early bus from the Happo 1 terminal to Cortina resort, and, to meet our shuttle back to Tokyo when we were leaving.
The place was within walking distance to many places to eat! We ate in a different place, lunch and dinners, for nearly 2 weeks! All of them very good to excellent!
The free ski shuttle to the nearer resorts is a 5min walk down the street.
The onsen, an inside and outside one, was excellent!(although a little hot for me..)
It was great having our own ensuite!
It would've been good to have a communal lounge in which to relax after skiing, rather than be in our room all the time.
The beds, although we like them hard, were a little too hard in the center.
The heater, although efficient, was a bit noisy right near our heads, and a little smelly of kerosine.

The host was so kind I want to come back again just to see how he is going. The onsen was lovely and private. The room was warm and comfy after a day on the mountain.

Absolutely lovely host and comfy accommodation. True Japanese hospitality !
Fantastic service for the price. The host collected and dropped us off
at the bus stop - as well as allowing us extra time for our baggage and a shower as the room was
vacant after check-out (for no extra charge). Of course this may not always be the case in peak season, but host will go out of his way to help
you.
if you expect luxury modern facilities -
then this isn’t the place for you. But I’d always go
for hospitable warmth and charm over a resort any day :)

Great location, quick walk into Echoland and only 5 mins from the nearest bus stop. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The host was very friendly and was always available to answer any questions. The breakfast was delicious and the onsen on the property was very relaxing.
I highly recommend staying at Anise Garden!

The host is very nice and offered me transport to the bus terminals.
Great location, very close to the Cultured shuttle stop and 7-11.
Excellent facility, room is clean and warm. The experience of enjoying private onsen is superb after a day of skiing.
Bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise. The sound insulation is not too good.

Cozy room, friendly and helpful host. I like this homestay very much and gave it a full rating because it deserves it.
