Spacious room and good location

Spacious room, hot shower, good location

Drain in our room smelled pretty awful but think it seemed like some water/drainage issues were going on perhaps. One evening outside the hostel we ran into a bit of trouble with a troubled homeless man…shook us up a little so just be careful in the evenings!

Gute Lage, kühles Hostel

Es war sauber, die Betten bequem, sicher da man nicht einfach von draußen reinkommt, sehr gute Lage

Sehr kühles Hostel, Ich musste täglich um Toilettenpapier nachfragen, es gab keinerlei Auskünfte von der Rezeption zu walking touren oder Aktivitäten im Hostel, ich musste alles selbst erfragen, ich fragte ob es eine Küche gibt (es hieß ja), in der Küche teilte man uns dann mit dass wir hier nicht kochen können. Sie schrieben mir 2 Tage vorm check out sogar auf whatsapp, dass der check out fällig wäre-habe ihnen dann mitgeteilt, dass ich erst in 2 tagen auschecke, die Rezeption ist absolut unorganisiert. Die guten Bewertungen sind absolut unverständlich. Viajero hat normal viel bessere standards als dieses, noch dazu sehr teuer im Vergleich zu anderen Hostels in Quito

Una estancia cómoda, súper amables los del personal y las instalaciones son muy cálidas, ideal para viajeros.

La arquitectura del Hostel es muy bonita, me gustó su decoración interior y los múltiples ambientes que tienen, todo muy bien acondicionado para una aventura viajera.

Personalmente me hubiera gustado que hayan actividades para turistas durante los primeros dias de la semana, ya que los que tienen actualmente, son para viernes sábado y domingo.

Beautiful hostel. Nicest I've seen

The building was amazing. Beautiful, clean heritage site. The beds in the dormitories had their own lights and shelf for charging and curtains around them. Good size storage locker for each bed too. The dormitory showers had proper hot water and water pressure; a delight after a month in Ecuador with neither of each.

My key to my dormitory didn't work and the staff couldn't get theirs to work. We had to wait for another guest to get into dormitory 308. When I first tried to leave I couldn't get out of reception as there was no button near the doors to leave. I had to wait for a staff member to return to be let out. It felt like an escape room. 😆

It was great

This place was great. It was spotlessly clean, the staff was so friendly and helpful. They always gave me tips to make sure I was safe. I felt very safe here.

Perfect location, beautiful building and great atmosphere!

We had a great time staying at the Viajero in Quito. First of all, the building is beautiful, the rooms are very cosy and there is a great common area. The receptionists and the host, Queity, were all incredibly helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. After we returned to the hostel after being on the Galapagos for one week we received a really warm welcome from all the staff and they made us feel right at home. In addition there are really amazing activities every day. We especially enjoyed the free walking tour, yoga, beer tasting and ping pong tournament. Queity organizes all the evening activities. She is a natural host, makes everyone feel welcome and her bubbly personality ensures a fun evening. We definitely recommend staying at Viajero, we couldn‘t have wished for a better place to stay! 😊

Although it‘s really great to have a restaurant in the Hostel, the food there wasn‘t great and unfortunately the restaurant staff was very unfriendly. We would recommend it for breakfast, which was lovely, but maybe go another place for dinner.

Besonderes Hostel in Quitos Altstadt

Sehr komfortables Bett, sauberes Zimmer. Besonders gute Aktivitäten und Entertainment mit Queity, sehr schöne Atmosphäre.

Kleinigkeiten wie Fernbedienung für den Fernseher und Handseife haben gefehlt.

Superb

They have a dedicated person for coordinating the hostel activities and "breaking the ice" between newcomers. Katy connected a lot of people and we had a great time doing activities like salsa dancing or chocolate tasting. The beds are super comfy and you have your own space for privacy, also on the dorms.

The street close by is very busy and the neighborhood is apparently not the best. Both points are acceptable, though. The location (historic city center) is more important in my opinion.

Amazing stay

The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Happy to help with anything. Beds were really spacious and comfortable. The blinds gave privacy when needed. Bathrooms were clean. Good vibes

Very nice place at a perfect location

Beautiful, nice, clean place, at a great location in Quito. Very nice staff that helped me with my travel plans. Good breakfast too! Some nights a bit quit, but Saturday night we had a lot of fun. Also had a very good cooking class, by the fun and great cook Fernando!

Sometimes a bit quit in the common area, but still met nice people.

The most disapointg place of our holidays

The environment is really cool

I am absolutely disapointed with this place, and I travel a lot. You can hear EVERYTHING from the rooms, and the music was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. The worst part was the food. We payed 5$ for the dinner menu, soup and the main course. When we arrived, at 8:00 pm, the soup had ended and you didn't even give us water after asking 2 times. And now to finish in a smooth way, the breakfast was the most discusting thing I was ever served. The pancakes were probably 4 days old, because they were so stale that we coudn't even bite into them. The lady gave us granola with nothing on it. The pancakes were so bad that we asked the lady for some toasts with bread and we got a slice of toasted bread without butter that when delivered she dropped on the floor and proceeded to go back inside and bring the exact same piece of toast again, as it was already cold and broken when it fell.

Staff is excellent and go above and beyond. If you bring ear plugs, this place is the place to stay if you’re traveling

Great location to get to places in old town during the day. At night, old town is a little different and not great for wandering around. However the property itself is a charming old building with great spaces to hang out. The cats in the yard are entertaining.

The windows are very thin, and music plays until 10 or 11 each night. We had to get up at 5 or 6 several mornings, so the music didn’t help with going to sleep.

Big, clean hostel with amazing staff!

The staff was amazing! After being robbed (in Parque Itchimbia, thankfully not close to the hostel), they helped me so much getting things together. The manager, Jonathan, especially was of great help.

The food in the restaurant really wasn’t great. Recommend eating somewhere else.

Lovely hotel, quiet, great room, helpful staff.

Nice facility, huge room, comfortable bed, great private bathroom in a cool old building. It had a lovely courtyard. The staff were very helpful with information and arranging taxis.

Restaurant leaves much to be desired. The menu was limited and unimaginative, the food was heated up frozen food. The shrimp I had was served cold and raw. The wine selection very limited.

Nice place to stay in Quito

The staff was amazing. Specially Andy at the bar and resection. The location was also great as it was close to the major attractions in the city center. Although the area is not the safest one at night.

The only part I did not like about the hostel was the lack of activities offered during the weekend. There is nothing going on at the hostel on the weekends. Basides that, excellent place to stay when you are in Quito.
