Nos atendió Alexander, el dueño. Fue como estar en casa, la amabilidad, la atención, todo es excelente, lo recomendaría una y mil veces.
Todo estuvo súper bien.

Location is great, under el Pencillo, next to La Ronda, on a lovely plaza, easy walk around historic centre. Huge room with balcony on the plaza, good bathroom, free hot and cold water in reception.
Breakfast is a bit minimal for a vegan.

The room was very spacious and the staff attended my request for a specific room and I had a fantastic view of the square and historical centre. The receptionist was amazing, super friendly and welcoming, he helped us with all the requests including the taxi to the airport. The plants around the whole place was a treat, it gave us a sense of a paradise amongst busy Quito. Finally, I have stayed in other places in Quito during my trip, and in comparison this one had a good location, particularly in terms of restaurants - amazing places, less than 5 - 7 minutes walking, which makes a difference when you tired from a whole day sightseeing and you just want to just pop in to someplace near to eat.
The breakfast was super good with fresh juice, fruits, butter, jam, eggs, only the bread was a normal toast (other places in Ecuador offered fresh rolls) - but this is only a minor, as some people just loves toast, that's a very personal thing therefore I wouldn't see as negative.

The hotel is right in front of St. Domingo Square, and it has a beautiful atrium. You can definitely walk to the Plaza de la Independencia for just 5 minutes. The room was huge, and the bed was fine. The breakfast was good; they served it on the beautiful patio with very nice scenery.
You need to choose a room facing the square; otherwise, no direct sunlight in the room.

Loved breakfast and the location was excellent for me.

El ambiente de relax y la vista desde la terraza, ah y los pajaritos!
Wifi un poco baja la señal en el cuarto.

Great hotel and good value. Location close to Historical centre. Staff were all helpful.
Nothing

Staff is super , location is excellent, we had a great time staying in this hotel; they care: taxi service suggestions were really appreciated as some taxis have a tendency to exaggerate bills…
Cold at night, and extra blanket is needed! Lack of fruits at breakfast time; breakfast is really basic: eggs, juice, coffee, toasts, butter, jams…that’s all!

location and staff
no heat in room. water not hot in bathroom.

The entrance to the hotel is very small yet inside you find an open, large beautiful plant-lined reception area where host/owner, Alexander Montero, works non-stop to welcome you and to answer all your questions. Our room faced Plaza Santo Domingo and was spacious and comfortable. The enclosed rooftop dining room is bright and offers spectacular views of Quito and El Panecillo. This is our 7th trip to Ecuador and Quito, and we would highly recommend this hotel, it’s location in the historic sector, and Alexander Montero. We love to experience the culture, history, and charm of countries so this was perfect.
We were very happy with everything!

Pleasant breakfast in nice sunny room

Breakfast room was on an outdoor (enclosed patio) with a view. Bright and cheerful.
4.5
Spacious room, large comfortable beds, in the heart of the old town, fresh towels daily.
Breakfast was a bit repetitive and lacking in choice. Traffic noise in front rooms was very bad. No spare loo roll so had to request extra a couple of times. Room was a bit chilly so an extra blanket for each bed would have been appreciated

Good location in the Historical Centre. Staff always helpful.
Unassuming hotel entrance that my taxi driver had difficulty finding. He rang the hotel to get directions to find out that we were parked outside without realising!

Charming hotel on a Santa Domingo Plaza, opposite the Santo Domingo Church in Centro Historico, Quito. The ambience is very nice, and all the staff were exceptionally helpful in providing advice and ensuring that my stay was wonderful. Will hope to visit and stay here again.
Nothing was wrong - all was fantastic!

Everything was very clean. Great breakfast in a beautiful room with a nice view. Convenient location; it felt very safe and was walkable. Very pleasant staff. Loved all the plants.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

I loved the breakfast room! The window-filled room gave you such a nice view of the mountains. They also have birds near the eating area in the hotel. The chirping was the perfect morning sound. Oh, and my room! Lets not talk about how beautiful my room was. It was amazing. My cousins stayed in a 2 bed bedroom and it was very big!
You do have to be aware when walking in there are people lingering near by- sometimes. The staff is amazing which is why it's important to communicate and do give them a time of arrival! We did, and they were there ready to open the door and guide you up the steps. Once you come up.... wow the openness and greenery will blow you away. The staff is very polite. Next time I would like to stay in their suite!! I saw it on the way to the eating room I can't imagine how beautiful it is.

Breakfast with a view was included in the price. Staff was incredibly helpful and let us store our bags while away on short trips and after check out. They also helped us with lost/delayed luggage from the airport.
Rooms didn’t have exterior windows, but rather windows facing inner courtyard.

Staff help.
Too cold.

The room was big and comfortable and the bathroom and shower were great! The front desk staff was super helpful with questions and arranging taxis.
This was true all over Ecuador, the year round temperature is so temperate, that they don't have heat in the rooms, so it was always a little chilly for me. There's plenty of bed coverings, but it was hard to relax when cold.

The staff was amazingly friendly and accomodating. Our room was huge and comfortable. The fresh made breakfast every morning was wonderful. The location was perfect for walking around the old historic town center. It was also right around the corner from a very happening street filled with music, restaurants and stores.
It really was a wonderful stay. I suppose if I had to say one thing I didn't like, it was that Old Town itself can get a little rough late at night - but we really didn't have any problems and the hotel staff were very protective of us.
4.5
Great check in experience and super easy airport transfer that was sorted for me too. Breakfast was good
Location was ok but I definitely didn’t feel super safe wandering around as a solo female traveller. Room was on the ground floor with no external window which I also didn’t love.

Casa Montero is our favorite hotel in the historic center of Quito. Although we live just a few miles away we like to regularly stay for a night or two as a little mini-vacation. We both love everything about the hotel. The location is perfect because we like to walk everywhere while we're there. The hotel is always spotless and the entire staff is incredible. There is always lots of hot water for our showers in the morning and that's not always the case in Ecuador. We really enjoy the breakfasts served each morning in the dining room and the views of the Panecillo and of looking south of the city. We also visit the room next to the dining room with parakeets, finches, cockatiels and lovebirds after our breakfast each morning.
I really can't think of anything I don't like. We have been treated extremely well each time we've stayed.

The breakfast was amazing. Good food with your choice of eggs. The service was spectacular, very helpful. The interior of the hotel is a beautiful surprise.
4.5
It is beautifully decorated. the hanging plants are amazing! The front desk Ruben was so courteous and attentive to our needs.
I feel bad for the homeless people. There was a homeless person laying a few feet away from the front fool of the hotel.

clean attractive hotel
Rooms /hotel was cold and there was no heating

the location
they charged me more than I was quoted on Booking.com and that was very disappointing! I didn’t even have breakfast the second day. but the first hotel I stayed at was much better, they had a free shuttle to the airport too.
4.5
The room had comfortable beds and plenty of space
Lack of toilet paper, wash cloths, lack of heating system and noisy streets
4.5
Nice hotel in the Centro historico. It’s at the corner of one of the main squares so I was right beside the special parades for Holy Week. Friendly staff gave me advice on where to go out at night and what times and places I had to be a bit more careful about walking alone/wary of pickpockets.
Breakfast was nice 👍
Wifi in my room was hit and miss but worked perfectly in the lobby.

staff went out if their way to ensure they were meeting our needs.
