Excellent location (very close to the Old Town), lovely staff, who looked after us well. Big and comfortable bed. And the food in the restaurant was very very good.

The staff was very helpful and attentive to our safety and comfort. Most were bilingual in Spanish and English. The location was good for sightseeing and dining.
The hills in the historic city were challenging for those not accustomed to the altitude. The hotel is located on a mostly pedestrian street, so pickup and drop off can be an issue, but the hotel staff does a good job smoothing that out.

Rooms are extremely small and there was no hot water while I was staying there.

the building was beautiful and the abundant plants were lovely
lack of an elevator (we were on the top floor)

Charming design of the hotel, inner yard, nice personnel. You can drink tea with homemade cakes each evening in the lobby. The lobby has a greenhouse.
The first room that we got because the window there was very high at the corner of the room. But we got another beautiful room the next day when we asked.

The historic nature of the building, it was beautifully restored.

The La Casona de la Ronda Hotel is close to the historical centre of Quito, about ten minutes walk. The staff were friendly, efficient and competent. They arranged pick up from the airport which is about an hours drive from Quito. The main hotel is in a sympathetically restored historic building and has a great atmosphere. However, we stayed in an apartment in a modern three floor annex a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Our one bed apartment had a fully equipped modern kitchen, including a dishwasher. There were also a washing machine and tumble drier. The lounge was spacious and well equipped with soft seating and associated furnishing. There were two toilets.
The small restaurant in the main hotel served excellent and varied meals.
The hotel staff advised on and arranged private tours around the area.
Being in a vibrant area of Quito there were several bright musical bars which attracted local people and other tourists. Hotel security staff were on hand to accompany guests from the main hotel to the apartment annex, if requested.
We liked this hotel. We would stay there again.
Quito seemed edgy. We had a few delightful conversations with Tourist Police Officers who gave us normal advice about not carrying valuables and keeping cameras out of sight. This heightened awareness of local petty crime continued with the vigilance of the hotel security team. I wonder if this was necessary or overdone.

Staff was awesome--very helpful and even protective of us. Hotel is lovely. We enjoyed drinks up in the sitting room upstairs. Our room was very nice.
The only thing we would have liked is more natural light and a balcony or window that looked outside. We had a window that looked onto a shute and we heard kitchen noise very early in the morning.

a real taste of ethnic Ecuador culture in the architecture and decoration. Really great
ask for a room off the street side if you are a light sleeper

Nice atmosphere, welcoming and attentive staff, great service.
It was SO noisy in our room at night until 1am. The area is not super safe. Located on pedestrian street, making it hard to get taxis to come to the door directly. Breakfast was not included and it was pricey.

It's location and it's old world charm.

This is a beautiful hotel with exceptional staff. Our room was huge with the biggest king size bed I've ever seen. Great service. The restaurant is extremely good. Lots to see and do in the area around the hotel.
You cannot drive your car to the front door of the hotel. I was a little concerned about this because I had a lot of luggage.
But it is a very short downhill walk from the street to the front door. The staff are great at handling your luggage to and from your room. After being at the hotel I found this not to be a problem. I plan to return to this hotel often.
