The unit shares a building with "Barefoot Hideaway II" downstairs. Each unit has it's own private, locked entrance while having a common outer entry and laundry area. Each separate unit sleeps 10, or rent them together to sleep 20! Please inquire to rent multiple units. This vacation complex is on a truly beautiful and private part of the beach, and yet is minutes from downtown St. Augustine, Matanzas Inlet, and all of the area attractions!
This three bedroom, two bath unit is completely reconstructed and freshly finished in modern beachy decor to create the perfect vacation environment. It features an large back porch which overlooks sunrises on the beach and doubles the living space. Three bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable furnishings, and baths and kitchen are fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. The living area is light and bright and includes a dining area and a pull-out Queen bed. And the best part of all....Step out onto a little short boardwalk that takes you over the dunes and through your private gate onto the beach! Beach supplies such as beach chairs, towels and cooler are provided.

This beach house was amazing! We were steps from the beach, and the new pool they added was wonderful! To be honest, we had booked the house (both top and bottom floor units) so two families could come together. One of our group had a special needs child, and the pool has a new shallow water deck that young children, elderly, and disabled, can sit and/or play in! It made the trip for this family, and we loved being so close to the beach while still having a pool!
I would highly recommend this house for young children, as there was even a little kitchen table with chairs for them, along with other items available, like a play yard, that a family could use. that would make this special for them.
The only thing I would recommend is that someone go through the kitchen items in the units occasionally as the top unit had fewer glasses and such than the bottom, which tells us some may have migrated before our stay...;) It could also use a couple extra blankets, as some of our group were a bit cold at night, and the light, summer linens weren't enough for them..;)

One of the most relaxing family vacations we've had in a long time. This place offers everything! Beautiful inside and out. The back porch is where we spent most of our time. One of our 16yr old sons actually slept out there. Views are amazing. The wind coming off the ocean is perfect. We only showered and slept inside. The porch, pool and beach was where we spent our time. We took advantage of the free attraction tickets that was updated daily. It's within walking distance to so many places. It's off the rd so you don't get any traffic noise. Plenty of beach chairs and beach towels were available. We loved it so much, we are already planning our family vacation for next year.
IF, I had to name one thing to change it would be to add a long mirror on the back of a closet or bathroom door so us ladies can see our whole outfit before heading out to dinner or pictures. Maybe a potholder or 2 to take things out of the oven. Again, this is just my opinion. The place is perfect just the way it is. ❤

Was a great place to stay. Just a short drive to downtown, yet far enough away for uncrowded beaches. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the view from the porch. We would stay here again!

This is our family’s happy place. Nothing beats the view from the balcony! The house is a perfect beach house and if you want to spend your days lounging by the water, this is your spot. The private beach entrance is quiet and beautiful. The team is very quick to respond and fix any issues that might pop up (which aren’t many!). We can’t wait to come back next year!

We spent a wonderful week at this home. 9 of us fit comfortably on the upper level. All the appliances were modern, the beds were comfortable. What I liked the best is the balcony that had ocean view. It is amazing to have your coffee and watch the sun rise above the ocean. There are some great restaurants even walking distance. The grocery stores are 5 minutes away. The beach is clean and was not crowded in March. We definitely would love to come back again.

We enjoyed our stay at Barefoot Hideaway. It's very comfortable and we highly recommend the place. We appreciate the fact that the host keeps the property clean and well maintained. David, the host was very responsive and graciously accomodating our certain request. My suggestion maybe to replace the pots and pans to make the guest's stay more enjoyable. We hope the host continues to provide the excellent service for the guests.

We wanted a house directly on the beach - this one was especially nice as was the beach. Wide sand beach with high dunes that gave the beach a very natural feeling. The house was exactly as described and pictured. We would rent again.

Although I have lived in Florida most of my adult life, I have never been to the St Augustine area. We really liked the house as well as the beach. The beach was one of the better beaches that we have been to and the house was right on the beach. Although the house was about 25 minutes from the "downtown" part of St Augustine, it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. The house was as advertised, very clean and well stocked with the essentials (except maybe TP). We would highly recommend this house and plan on coming back in the future. The price was fair as well. The only recommendations that we would make would be to include more TP (gave us 4 rolls for 9 people over 3 days), 2 of the 3 doors were tough to close (including the main door to the house), and we could not get the dishwasher to work. I only mention this as suggestions to the owners to make a great place perfect.

Barefoot Hideaway was the perfect place for our spring break. It was clean, the view was breathtaking and we loved that it was right on the beach. TJ host was extremely responsive and wonderful to work with. We will definitely be coming back again. We highly recommend booking this house for your next beach vacation!
