Unique stay in the gatehouse of classic
Manor house which sadly is closed.

The size of the property was great. Emma who I dealt with was really helpful.
There was an awful old greasy smell in the kitchen which was a bit off putting but it was really clean we couldn’t work out where the smell was coming from. There isn’t much to do at the Manor House but lots around the area.

Location
The strange choice of picture / photographs hung on the walls

We really enjoyed our stay in the right housekeepers annexe and we went to a car show in the area. The annexe was comfortable but the housekeeping side could have been better. The radiator was full of dust. But we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it convenient

No fuss - Clean and tidy. Large bedrooms. Despite our initial confusion the Gate House was a lovely old place to stay. We used it purely for somewhere to sleep and change for the night so we didn't use any of the other facilities. Shame really, the hot tub looked very inviting!
We were confused on arrival as the photos on booking.com are not what we saw on arrival so we were looking for something different. The photos must be other properties of the same owner? Now we have been it is obvious that those photos are of several different properties but we were confused when we first arrived as to where our property was. Once we found it we were very pleased.

Really nice place and a lot of stuff thought about with regards to things in the room!
It was a little smelly in regards to the drains!
The pillows were not great!
With the rooms not being cleaned made up would be nice to be given some empty bags and locations of bins to dispose of things

There was no staff involved we let ourselves in and it was a lovely lodge.

Fresh milk in the fridge.
Quite difficult to fathom how to get hot water. Handbasin tap took a very long time to come through. Shower took some figuring out but eventually it worked ok.

The whole area around was lovely countryside , Hot tub was a extra feature !! Amazing places around for family !!
Everything was nice !

Convenient for wedding reception.
Nice bathroom
On the shabby side of shabby chic.
Window wouldn't stay open.
Fridge door handle missing
Door to next door property from our room meant we could hear every word spoken, so noisy.

Fabulous grounds to walk around. Friendly hosts.
Deep clean required (carpets etc). We also had a slippage in bathroom - almost serious accident stepping from bath ( which doubled as shower) to tiled floor. Very slippery tiles and bath. Also only one bathroom for 3 bedrooms inadequate.
4.0
The shower was modern and clean. There was good water pressure and the water was hot.
Very run down. Small gloomy room. Internet was not reliable. The bed was uncomfortable. It was really overpriced and disappointing.
4.0
Friendly staff. Room was big. Big bath.
No light next to bed. Bath took 1.5 hours to fill.
Wifi was very poor.

The properties were beautiful and so comfortable for the whole group. The lady on reception was so helpful at check in, giving directions on how to get to the properties and helping us feel welcome. The biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and sugar were a very appreciated touch after a long journey. The facilities were clean and the surrounding areas were perfect to take the doggies on a morning walk! There isn’t much more I can say other than beautiful! We will definitely be back for a longer stay!
There was nothing to not like. A beautiful property!

Nothing
Do not stay in Annex (left). Paid good money for what we were told was an apartment with crockery, cutlery, glassware. Had all of that along with a toaster, fridge (with a broken door), and kettle, but it was not an apartment. It was a small dingy bedroom with nowhere to eat or prepare food - bizarre. Rotten window frame, no views, old matteress, clothes line instead of a wardrobe and connecting door to the neighbouring cottage. We could hear the next door party so clearly we felt we were in their house. We left without sleeping there and checked in somewhere else. Complete waste of money. They are playing on the history of the place but not maintaining the accommodation to an acceptable standard. Be sure what you are getting when looking at the photos. It isn't easy to be sure what you'll end up with. Thornton Spa Hotel nearby is almost the same price and much better value for money.

Good location for visiting many areas
A blind on the bathroom window would be nice especially as the light turns on as soon as the door is opened.

Room was very comfortable and clean
Nowhere to eat food. I had to adapt the bedside table, moving the lamp and having to reposition the chair.
Given there’s nowhere to eat without driving, a small table would have been useful.

Quiet location
The bed and bedding were of poor quality there was no comfort in the room at all.

let them know in advance we would be late and arrived after late ferry from Dublin and couldn't get in and there was no one there and the night porter didn't answer the phone !
We had to book in instead at the Travel Lodge near Birkenhead !
some one to answer the phone.

Very comfy beds, quiet location, provision of towels and linen, bathroom toiletries, tea/coffee/milk provided, large table for breakfast for everyone
4.0
Nice touch to leave a small fresh milk in the fridge, besides the tea/coffee and biscuit. Kettle and toaster provided and plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery.
Extensive grounds - good for walking.
Huge bed!
WiFi reception was quite poor.
Water from the tap tasted quite chlorinated.

Great location. Ideal property(ies) for family of 10.

The manor was in a beautiful location
Size of room, very small with only 2 dining chairs as seating
A large fridge in the room which the thermostat continually clicked in and off the motor was noisy.
Poor communication from the manor.

Lovely comfy bed. Nice and peaceful.
Incorrect PIN given for lock box. Once provided with the correct PIN, there was no key inside so unable to gain entry. No-one was available to allow us to gain entry.
Fortunately, there was another room available and the problem was resolved over the phone by a very helpful staff member.

East Lodge great location.
Shower fixture
Gardens needs a little bit of TLC.
