We enjoyed our stay on balance , though food offerings far from good.

Rooms were pleasant & spa was enjoyable. Reception staff very pleasant.

We had to request room move due to wedding party noise. Food not great, in particular would not choose to eat in the restaurant grill again.

Fabulous short break.

We loved the superior room. The evening meal in the Calvery restaurant was lovely. We loved sitting outside on the sunny day, looking over the golf course. Breakfast was lovely too and foods filled up quickly at the buffet

It would have been great to have had cheeses and hams on the cold section of the buffet. The lighting in the superior room could have been a bit brighter - fantastic mirrors, but difficult to see well (for putting make up on for example). It would have been good to have lighting over the mirrors.

Great hotel but very poor and super slow service!!

Love the surroundings and the hotel itself. Beautiful place.

The service was atrocious! This is my 2nd stay. The 1st time the service wasn't that great. The 2nd time around the service was even worse! I went to check in and the receptionist was on her phone texting and didn't acknowledge me for at least 20 seconds! Poor service! The service in the bar was also terrible, there were only 2 people serving and it was super slow, I had to send a cocktail back when it did eventually arrive as it tasted nothing like what we asked for. On my first visit the service in the bar was super slow, you need more people serving. It took me about half an hour to get through to room service on the evening and even then I had to call reception only to be told the number had changed but I was only calling the number on the phone in the room. Breakfast service was also slow, only 1 person In the breakfast room seeing to people and he was also super slow and didn't seem to get what we where asking for even though it was a simple request. Awful service from start to finish of our stay. It has put us off wanting to return for another stay.

Beautiful location

Decor is beautiful, such a beautiful place to stay very classy

Only thing I didn’t like is the fire alarm went off every couple minutes from the hours of 1:00am till 3:00 so that ruined my stay at this hotel

Not as good as it used to be

Beds were extremely comfortable

Poor toaster was broken, coffee machine was empty. Waited ages for tea and coffee at the table. No cold meats or cheeses. Evening meal was expensive.

Great place overall

Great hotel and facilities. Staff were very polite and couldn't be more helpful.

Fantastic place to stay

The location was perfect for a quiet retreat. The rooms were fabulous and the breakfast was lovely with top quality food and so much choice.

Maybe the cooked breakfast could of had a bigger selection and warm plates would of been better than cold.

Great hotel .............would always use it when in Leeds

Room was comfortable with nice in room toiletries. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The hotel accommodated a friend who wasn't staying but who live nearby and popped into see us for breakfast which was lovely and also made it very easy to stay with our dog who loved the walks through the grounds

Beautiful place, great food, a little noisy

This place is beautiful! The restaurant was great and the staff are lovely. The room was clean and comfortable, but it was really noisy out in the corridors and there is not a lot of insulation between rooms. We got woke up several times during the night. Our room was a really long walk from the main reception. I recommend asking for a room that has less walking.

There’s not a lot of insulation between rooms and we could hear everything, including the shouting that was going on out in the corridor.

Opulent environment in main hotel, and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Pool and spa is lovely to have. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Some facilities are a bit dated (bathrooms, lifts). Parking was slightly challenging. Nothing 'wrong' in particular, but room for improvement

The staff for the evening good were not the best, we had someone over to take our order of food and drinks but then never came over after that to ask if we wanted anything else or any more drinks and also after walking past several times seeing empty glasses didn’t ask for a refill but when it came to ask for the bill they were very quick in presenting it and asking how we would like to pay.

There's nothing particularly bad about it, but if I had to say it, it would have been difficult to eat at the dining table because I had to bring my dog with me.

Beautiful Hotel, didn’t feel guest friendly ,it’s a shame.

Room was great, breakfast and dinner great. Grounds and hotel are really lovely. Pool area was really nice great for an overnight stay not too far from home. Rooms were close together and quiet. Spot on for what we asked for. Was dog friendly Hotel.

Visited as a family weekend (8 adults and 2 small children and our dog) Pool use was limited to breakfast time and just before tea so children were unable to make full use of facilities. No play area so children got bored quickly. Spa staff shocking, ANTI children, commented to other family member that pool was full of kids.(5 at most ,well behaved) very unprofessional. Bar staff let outside chair covers get wet so were soaking in the morning. weren’t helpful when we mentioned it, we had to ask reception for towels to cover wet seats. why wouldn’t staff bring seat covers in.!!! It was sunny and we had the dog and children so was better for us to sit outside. Didn’t feel like a guest friendly Hotel as it once was.☹️

Lovely hotel with lots of stately ambiance and a great gym. Avoid restaurant if you are in a rush!

Beautiful, elegant, charming hotel with lots of character. Lots of comfortable, well-presented reception rooms for chatting with friends or having a drink. Excellent gym with plenty of equipment. Decent food in restaurant. Comfortable bed and pillow!

Dinner food service was extremely slow - the restaurant was moderately busy, but not overloaded and a wait of 50 mins from starter to main course is very poor. En-suite bathroom really needed a proper clean - multiple early signs of mould on the tile grouting that took the edge of an otherwise nice bathroom.

Loved the hotel and the location

I was disgusted by the response of the maitre-d in the restaurant. My main meal was terrible and his very rude gesture was to deduct £1.98 from a £100 bill for a very substandard main course that was sent back
