it is a hotel in the middle of the jungle, don´t expect anything else.
It is great.

Very beautiful place in the middle of the jungle. Loved the flowers all around and the look of the place. Beds were comfortable and it's a nice touch to give soap and shampoo that are not damaging for the environnement. The restaurant was also fine. Bring your bottle to refill with the water provided.
The wifi doesn't reach further than the reception. It was fine for us, but it's better to know ahead. The activities were a little expensive, especially the price for walks, so we chose not to do them. And it's not their fault, but it's also worth noting the roads to get there are in a bad shape.

The Location is beautiful, the river, the jungle, a lot of monkeys and different birds on the trees in the hotel, the boat tour was a great experience, the guide was incredible, we saw a lot crocodiles and another animals along side the river.
The service in the restaurant is a disaster, slow, unfriendly staff, you have every time to ask they attend you and finally charged things we event doesn’t ordered, wanted that we pay cash without an invoice. First day without electricity and had issues also with hot water. Wifi only in the lobby. The room was quit small with not that comfortable beds, the moskitonet had some damages and bugs could enter to the room

Beautiful place, confortable rooms.
Very expensive activities, and not many other options apart from those proposed by the hotel.
There was no electricity when we were there but they only found a solution for the most expensive rooms. So we had to spend the night in the dark, with no fan, with the loud noise of the generator that was used for the restaurant.

the cabanas were very well done and the hammocks were exactly what we needed. The landscaping is beautifully done and the cabanas have good spacing. Monkeys were never far away in the tree tops and the howler monkeys were a very cool soundtrack.
A necessity perhaps for a beautiful garden ??! - but someone was using a leaf blower the whole day we wanted to relax in the jungle sounds.

The lodge has a lot of cabanas spread out on the property - it's a pretty setting with lots of greenery and water, howler monkeys and birdlife. The restaurant overlooks the river which is a lovely spot though a few more areas to sit and read, lie in a hammock would have been nice.
The activities involving bird watching and boat rides were quite overpriced in our opinion though we appreciated their history of conservation. We have done similar things in the region for much cheaper, (for example they charged 800 pesos to drive 10 mins down the road to a tree where the macaws sleep at night). The food unfortunately was very average and there isn't really anywhere else to eat. Would be good if the beds had individual mosquito nets (the rooms themselves do have netting on the windows etc but they do still get in).

being surrounded by the jungle was beautiful

Internet at the cabins and drinking water.

It looks amazing in the jungle, there were monkeys and free flying guacamayas/macaws at the place itself :). Comfy beds and spacious room.
Please please please free the captured guacamayas and deer, there's absolutely no good reason why they're in captivity. Tours are quite expensive, was a bit disappointed by the boat tour. Warm water would be nice as well, but hey its the jungle so can't expect to much luxury

Wonderful location in the jungle. Lots of birds, monkeys and magnificent iguanas in the grounds. Loved that the rooms were completely screened so no need for mosquito nets. The daily clean by the staff was superb. The food in the restaurant was also very good.
We thought the excursions were overpriced. Sadly our boat captain was very new to wildlife watching so although he was a good driver he did not know how to approach wildlife and birds so that they wouldn’t be startled. He was young so has to gain experience.

The nice layout of the place. The food was tasty. The howler monkeys everywhere.
They charge you for every small thing, for example if you want drinking water in your room, or if you ask for ice, it’s extra. I’m a vegetarian and on the complete set menu for breakfast there was no veggie options so I asked instead of ham and cheese, I asked for mushrooms and cheese… that was a little battle with the waiter because they wanted to charge me 30 more pesos for that… this is the atmosphere, you are a bank machine for them. They aren’t such a cheap hotel, so should work on theses things to make their guests feel more at home. Also the power mysteriously goes out when there are few guests even when the village is connected to the power grid. There is very slow WiFi only in the reception which is far from the rooms. I thought there would be more to see and do but after asking other guests about their excursions, they were disappointed… and they are very expensive, so we declined going on any. So if you do stay here, maybe just one night because it’s far from everything. Oh and if you are into the covid narrative that there is a plague around us, you will love this place, they want to spray you down and keep you in masks, even though most of their staff go around without properly wearing masks or having one on. So I guess you can see I’m disappointed to say the least.

The stilt facilities are just amazing, quite astonishing to find such a place out there.
Staff was very nice and welcoming. Great to get the opportunity to do tours and discover this preserved “selva”.
Not easy to get there (road is not the best) but a stop is worth it if you have time in the eastern part of the Chiapas.

Las Guacamayas is all about location, location, location!! The moment we arrived and got out of the car we were greeted by monkeys casually eating dinner in the trees above the parking lot. The up-close and personal moments you're able to have with wildlife at Las Guacamayas is unique and the height of the experience...to wake in the middle of the night to the sound of howler monkeys is other-worldly and to greet the morning with the sounds of the red macaws (guacamayas) is just incredible. We enjoyed learning about the ejido and the immense amount of conservation effort that has gone into protecting the jungle and the wildlife - they are efforts that should be replicated across the globe. The highlight of our 2-day stay at Las Guacamayas was our boat tour with Marco where we discovered many more animals -- over 20-30 different species of birds, 6 crocodiles, a river otter and learned a lot about the surrounding flora of the jungle.
The property itself is well manicured with beautiful floral walkways. The rooms are very clean. The service in the restaurant was good and the food had many local and traditional Mexican selections.
It should be noted too that the staff takes COVID protocols and measures quite seriously (always wearing face masks, having sanitizer available) despite their remote location in the jungle.
We felt the beds in the standard room were quite small and in fact slept in separate beds as a result. As a couple on our honeymoon that was a bit of a disappointment.

Amazing, secluded location in the middle of the jungle where we were really able to experience nature. We loved the property & all the work they are doing to rehabilitate the local Guacamaya population. Highly recommend the boat ride with a local guide - it felt like a jungle safari.
Nothing - it's very remote so the only downfall is the long drive to get there!

The rooms are lovely and the location very pleasant.
There was a strong light left on all night and our shower wasn’t very good.
Our cold water tap in the sink barely had a trickle whereas the hot water was very strong.
A shame although we have great memories.
