We had the ability to do the all inclusive add on which was good on the days we planned for a relaxing day. We loved the location, it was easy to get to the town/Wal-Mart, whatever. The view was beautiful. Walk to the pool was easy and the beach wasn't far either. It was quiet and wasn't very busy. So we picked a nice time to get to the resort. The landscaping was beautiful and saw peacocks and iguanas at the resort (lots of birds)
Thought it had a washer and dryer but it didn't. The bed was hard. Servers were great. The bedding/curtain decor was dated, we saw tears in the curtains, and it was hard to pull them closed, and if you like it dark to sleep. This was not a good unit. At the buffet by the beach, we saw birds landing on the buffet and helping themselves to the food, which made us lose our appetite.

We loved our stay. The location was perfect. The unit was spacious with plenty of room for our family. We found communication with the property manager was easy. The kitchen was a little basic, but generally met our needs. One of the bedrooms had and extra firm mattress that wasn’t the most comfortable, but all in all this place was great. We hope to come back one day.

Service and the stuff was great
The beds were not very comfortable

love the access to the resort. the size of the condo was amazing.
would have loved if it had a laundry option in the condo. also could benefit from an air fryer since the toaster oven was not that large. with a full condo it took a bit of work to make dinner with a small oven. BUT we loved the option of making dinner in the condo. it did work out just fine and we were very content.

We enjoyed the breakfast almost every day of our stay. The staff were always so friendly, and the quality of food was great- and I am not a breakfast person. Highly recommend starting your day off at the buffet.
The kitchen could have been better equipped with small appliances like a coffee maker and such. However, the coffee at breakfast was good. I just like the ease of waking up with a fresh cup of coffee while sitting on the balcony.

The facilities were clean. The attendants where friendly. It was so convenient that you could charge everything to your room. The float up bar was super fun!
The beds were hard and uncomfortable, for the price a more comfortable bed should be provided. The condo was a bit dark inside. But we did spend most of our time outside anyway.

Stayed here for a week with our family of 6. It was fantastic! The condo was spacious and clean and fit us all nicely! Our host, Ana, was beyond amazing; getting back to my emails quickly and even suggesting restaurants and attractions in our area. She was so helpful, patient and delightful to speak with! I would highly recommend staying here. The resort is beautiful too. The pools were clean with plenty of lounge chairs in the sun or shade. The staff were helpful, courteous and kind! We didn't opt in for the all-inclusive as we wanted to be free to check out the local restaurants and we're glad we did. The Marina area was a 10 minute walk away with fantastic local eateries at great prices. We did, however, enjoy the breakfast buffet each morning (the French toast was to die for!) and just paid for it like a normal restaurant. There is a Walmart about 3km away which we walked to (50 mins) for basic snacks, alcohol, lunch foods for our lazy pool days and some floaties! The proximity to the airport was so convenient too. After the hoopla of getting through the airport, it took us 10 minutes to get to our resort, 10 minutes to check in and another 10 minutes to get our bathing suits on, get towels and jump in the pool! AMAZING! The resort likes to keep it's guests busy too. There was always something going on from water aerobics and ping-pong challenges to arts and crafts and theme nights.
There are so many agencies offering excursions and I highly recommend you get out and try one! We went with Vallarta Adventures and drove Razers across the worlds longest vehicular suspension bridge; the Jorullo Bridge! It's 1542 feet in length and 492 feet high! We had the best day! As lovely as the resort was and as amazing as the weather was for us in March, especially when you are from a wet coast-west coast Canadian city, don't get resort bound. Get out and see some of the city/landscape!
I highly recommend staying with Ana at Velas Vallarta!
I'm not much of an ocean swimmer; I prefer swimming where I can see the bottom! But I do like to walk in the surf and might play in the waves for a little bit. The beach the resort is on is nice; the sand is soft and it's great for an early morning or sunset walk. The surf, however, can be a bit rough with a slight undertow. There was always a red flag out warning swimmers to take extra care but our four teenagers and my partner still enjoyed a play. Just be aware.

Every year we come to Velas and it never disappoints. Breakfast on the beach is unlike anything else and our accommodations were clean and the host was quick to respond.
Everything was perfect, thank you
