An absolute dump. Room was dirty, bins had not been cleaned in days. Cabinet where your bed was had no way of locking it for your valuables.
There’s an option to put valuables in a downstairs luggage room, which is unlocked so not safe. I highly recommend you don’t book here.

A comfortable stay for one night - towels charged extra at £4 and we didn't realise there wouldn't even be a hand towel. Everything you need is there (we had a standard economy double room with an ensuite) and it was a good size. So much noise from inside though, very inconsiderate people. The bed wasn't the comfiest either so not the best night's sleep. Very central though, good for one night.

We stayed in a suite which was nice and quirky. It was clean and comfortable. We even had a record player and some LPs! The shower room was a bit basic and although it had lights on mirror etc they didn’t work.
There were no keys available for the room so the receptionist had to keep running up to 3rd floor to let us in. The bar area and reception were nice.
We choose here last minute and there was not a lot of choice of accommodation as there was a lot on. Dithered whether to book just a double or suite … suite won hands down and glad I booked it as doubles looked very small. I would consider staying again. Thanks

I booked a queen bed room when we got there they didn't have it and we were given twin beds the light didn't work but was clean

Absolute joke of a venue … on hotels websites but treat you like a baby even though you’re paying over the odds rates.
No room keys as they say people taking … no towels as they say people stealing … then they want to charge £4 per person not even as a deposit but as compensation after you’ve paid £90+ for a room.
Yes it’s listed as a hostel but should not be on a hotel comparison website … truly pathetic imo.
Staff just laugh as you if you question anything … banging noise all morning in corridors … stay well away if you think it’s a hotel 😡

£78 one the night for the hostel (twin room) was the most I’d pay. I took my own towels but £4 a towel to borrow is terrible. Very noisy people banging doors. Was quite clean but worn it’s a historic building the worlds first ever YMCA (the receptionist didn’t know that!)
Bed was comfortable but pillow was lumpy. Good central location. Mount pleasant car park is opposite.

The layout of the room was quite unsafe, I think, since there was little room to move in and out of the bed pods and with little space to store luggage, it became a tripping hazard at night. I did appreciate the privacy curtains though. The room itself was quite filthy (used tissues, dirt/dust, unemptied trash, etc.) though the bathrooms were a bit better. The location is fairly close to the train station and is a short walk from the main shopping centers, though it's quite far from the airport. It lists laundry facilities as being available for guests, but that consists of a single washer and dryer for the entire building which requires a token that doesn't work most of the time. The cycles take a long time and apparently the check-in staff is not notified when the machines are out of commission. The building looks great from the outside, but sits next to a student accommodation, so it's quite noisy at night.

This was a basic accommodation. Some staff were very good some not. The view was of a litter-filled yard and the brick building opposite. No car park available The room had paint peeling from walls. VERY expensive for what it was. It wouldn’t take much to clear the litter or paint the walls. Breakfast (at extra cost) was advertised but not available as ‘she had phoned in sick’ It felt like the building and business were probably owned by a landlord who only cared about the money, not really bothered about the notion of service.

Easy check in and check out. Talkative and friendly staff. Room great for the price.

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm room. The first room I refused to stay in because it stunk of BO and damp, wet towels on the windowsills and really dark. Was moved to another dorm which was better but the whole building is damp. Mildew on the walls and ceilings, smelly and unloved. Receptionist couldn't be bothered to look up when I checked out. I slept well and the croissants were great in the morning, but I won't stay here again

For a hostel it did the job but there were no towels (had to pay extra) and no floor mat on the bathroom. Shower would spray water all over the floor so the floor was consistently wet as nothing dries in the humidity. Also no wifi the entire stay even though it advertises free wifi but it didn’t connect once while we were there

Floor in my room full of hair and dust

Its a hostel not much to say about it. Beds were nice, staff was friendly, and meet some nice people.
Wifi sucked though. Gotta fix that.

The facilities of kitchen need improvement as there is no oven but just the microwave oven. Also there is just one dinning table in the kitchen and one outside the kitchen that may not enough.
A 5-minutes walk to town centre is convenient to go to shopping. Also walk to Lime Street station around 8 minutes. It takes around 15-20 minutes to Albert dock and Merseyside by walk.
I like the mattress and duvet that made us sleep very comfortable.
The lobby of the hostel is spacious with many sofas , besides the staff are friendly.

I had a good stay. The staff were lovely and the bed comfy. It is in a very convenient location. However the room I stayed in was tired (broken pedal board, dodgy beside lamp) the decor needs touching up and I could f get hot water for my shower

Such a unique building, staff were lovely, easy to get to, all round lovely place will be staying there again that's for sure.

You get what you pay for i guess. The only positive about this place was location to the city and train station.
No activities for being a hostel. The beer garden was lacking any esthetics and there was a dead pigeon just chilling there. Lots of gardening projects left unfinished and nobody
The sink and shower would flood while in use. The dryer took 4 cycles just to get to reasonably "dry"..just a very underwhelming place to stay

a great hostel for a trip to central liverpool, walking distance to everywhere and super close to the train station. felt like a safe location and the room was ideal for a short break; clean, spacious and had fans in room. Quite expensive for just one night but best price for time of year.

Absolutely lovely front desk ladies - truly exceptional service there! Once we realized how small a regular private room was, we upgraded to the one with living room space - well worth the difference!
We loved the location, the styling of the upgraded room and the ease of access and nearby parking. The only thing that lowered the experience was the kitchen as it just felt gritty, dark and not quite clean looking enough to want to cook. Everything else was great.
My partner and I would definitely stay again in the future.

Stayed in one of the dormitories, was very big and spacious. With bed cubbies and curtains, so sleeping was quite private considering!

Great location, 24 hour car park right opposite. Super friendly staff. Very cute decor and very clean! A but if chipped/peeling paint here and there but honestly was hardly noticeable! Walls are very thin but quiet hours from 11pm meant this wasn’t an issue either! Will definitely be back

Not very comfortable beds...

I was in the 10 men room, and it was not really cleaned for the 5 days i was in the hostel. The bathroom was horrible: the door was broken, the showers were not clean, extremely small, dark and a bare minimum. The sinks and the toilet were dirty and disgusting too. I was not in the room for the whole day, obly for sleeping.
If you have a lock with you, you can lock your stuff into the storage box and the bed was the only good thing, it was quite comfortable. But the room itself was stuffy and smelly.
The kitchen you can use was also very dirty, but it had the most necessary stuff and a fridge were you can store your food.
All in all it was not good, the general cleanliness and also the condition of the hostel is not close to the pictures, it is very outdated and many things are broken.

Bathroom exhaust fan and mirror light was not working. Not fixed even after mentioning the same. Kitchen was not clean at all. Also it didn’t have basic amenities like mugs/ glasses. Breakfast was not served on the third day for which we paid separately. Property was not well lit.
