I have stayed here on several occasions and, as always, it has lovely staff and was clean and comfortable. However two issues made it a less happy experience than i would have liked.
Firstly there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Not what you're thinking but oddly, it smelt like cat pee!
The other issue was that my TV and remote were not talking to each other so I had no TV access. A member of staff did try to sort it but eventually gave up with the comment "it does this sometimes". I spent an unhappy two hours Googling and eventually sorted it myself. However, given that i specifically mentioned that I wanted to watch F1 qualifying, that I hadn't unpacked at the time when the staff member was in my room, that this was a known issue and that the hotel appeared to not be at full occupancy, why on earth was I not offered an alternative room?

My single room was clean and perfectly equipped. The bed was comfortable and the coffee/tea provided in the room was nice.

The worst hotel and customer service you can ever get.
Booked 6 months in advance and they cancelled 2 days before. Very ignorant and when asked, are there any other local hotels, NO, even although we found another one, which belonged to the same people.
Horrible!

This is a cute hotel that was clearly understaffed. The room was moderately clean but had not been dusted. They had a mini fridge on a nightstand in a window that made it a bit challenging to close the curtains. One person to manage reception, the bar, and act as food server - poor thing was doing her best but stretched. Dinner was good albeit slow for there only being 3 tables occupied.

Hotel was a little tired, but overall good

The only issue is the vibe in the bar and breakfast room. There is none
The TV was on in the bar (very low volume), but theres just something lacking
There's no background music
It feels like you need to finish up and leave - Maybe that's why it was quiet
Dinner took a while, but was good when it arrived. Cooked from fresh
I had the continental breakfast for £10 and compared to others, it's not a pretty sight. Not appetising at all
I asked the young waitress to at least put some music on, as it was deathly quiet in the room, but she gave a blatant no as it was too early for music!! 7.30am

Me and girlfriend enjoyed our stay perfect location and the welcome was good and gave us the info we needed all I would say is would of been nice to be greeted when coming for breakfast as we were unsure weather if help ourselves or not but other than that everything was good

Stayed quite a few times in last year. Great rooms and friendly staff who remember your name. Good value for money.

I have stayed here a few times over the last year on business trips. Friendly, clean and tidy and good value for money. The King and double bedrooms I have stayed in are spacious and the beds and pillows very comfortable.
Nice touch that when they get to recognise you as a regular, a room upgrade is simply done as a nice gesture without asking - excellent customer service that puts the guest first. Happened at least three times fairly recently

I really like this hotel, especially as it has a lift.
However, his time i was in room 7 which, oddly, had 3 sets of drawers but nowhere to hang clothes. There was no wardrobe, hanging rail or even a supply of hangers (fortunately I'd brought a couple with me)and only 1 hook, on the back of the door. I resorted to using the towel rail to hang my work clothes on! This niggle aside, it was a well priced, clean, comfortable and quiet room and I will return (with more hangers, lol).

A great hotel that is warm and comfortable with friendly staff. Bar open and food being served.

Very quiet location very near to the sea. Hotel staff is very accommodating nice clean hotel. Also, lovely breakfast cooked to order

Have to walk 20 mins to anywhere - be it the beach or the town center. Also didn't like the no reception concept, I didn't feel like it would have been easy to get information. Shower volume was so low that I got somewhat cold under there. Sound proofing is not great. Cleanliness was good, amenities were nice (tea kettle in the room were appreciated), overall right for the price.

Stayed twice in a week; different rooms; no breakfast. One was rather chilly, the other toasty. One quite small, the other more spacious.
Pillows could do with replacing. Water pressure for showering could do with a boost. Mattresses a bit trampoline-like - I woke every time hubby turned over...but i guess it's just different to what we're used to.
Good level of cleanliness. Hotel's lovely and quiet.Had a warm welcome from friendly, helpful staff. :)

This is an ideal base to explore the area. The website is an honest reflection of facilities.
The few issues I had with my room were promptly rectified.
It was also a pleasure to have controllable heating 24 hours, which was necessary as I feel the cold.
Thank you.

Nice hotel. Had lovely dinner in sister hotel. Close to station with connections to Inverness. Nice beach nearby.

Staff very helpful. Breakfast very tasty. Clean and comfortable. Would recommend it.

Felt like a visit with favorite relatives instead of staying at a “stiff” hotel. Lovely staff up front, at breakfast, and room servicing. Small bar downstairs but NO pub parties until midnight. True spirit and hospitality of the Highlands without the “Touristy” feel of the golf club mansions. This place is also totally noise free. Excellent value for an extremely affordable hotel with no mints on the pillow.

The hotel, while in a nice area, did not have a parking lot that was easy to drive in and out of due smaller size. You can hear your neighbors the entire night, so expect to be woken by other’s alarms, children crying at night, and taking shows. Rooms was standard, however it left much to be desired. I was only given a shampoo that was watered down and it doubled as a body soap. Didn’t even bother sleeping under my sheets, bed was so springy and used I wanted the extra cushion where I could find it. Shower pressure was not great, but the water does get very (very) hot, so be warned if you have small children! Good for one night if you need to stay somewhere, but wouldn’t recommend booking for long trips.

The hotel itself is a nice property and our room was spacious and well equipped - apart from the bathroom door that sticks really badly & needs fixing.
The carpark is very tight - I’m glad it was not me driving and parking.
Dennis on reception was very welcoming and helpful - and breakfast was fine.
Unfortunately we had some issues with the servicing of our room - a glass missing - and then when replaced, cups & glasses not washed properly each day, stained pillow slip - which I asked to be changed - towels not replaced, sopping wet towel left in the bath, bed left unmade - it was nothing major but annoying. Surely, it can’t be that difficult to have a check list of what is supposed to be done?

Very nice stay at this cost effective, clean and well cared for hotel. We enjoyed our breakfast the morning. Very kind and considerate staff as well. We will be staying here in the future. Short distance from the airport as well.

Stayed for 1 night after finishing the nc500,
No one at reception when we got there, keys are left in a box outside. No one to check us in, shower was just a dribble of water, both big towels had brown marks on them. Only shower gel in the bathroom, walls are paper thin and you can hear literaly everything the people are doing and saying in the next room, apart from that its a really quiet area. Overall our stay wasnt the worst, we were just looking for a shower and a comfy bed for the night but we wouldnt choose to stay here again in the future.

The property was nice and located in a very peaceful location, trains are accessible to Inverness, and you can get accommodation cheaper than in Inverness city center. The hotel is very close to Nairn Beach.
However this place lack a restaurant, but you can prebook the meals within the hotel,if you want.

Friendly staff and great location. Not so far to the train station if you are going to walk and neighborhood / the hotel is pretty quiet. Staff was really friendly to us and we really enjoyed it. Pretty close to the beach and clean rooms. Would definitely visit again.

Heavy furnished old style. Not the dressing table and cupboard in good condition, look really old :( bathroom shower was with low pressure and the loo flusher was slow :( I couldn’t find a way to close the door properly and
Bathroom too was not in good condition. Wasn’t fussy for a one night 🙂
Sorry it’s not all about negative experiences simply what I experienced
Receptionist was lovely 😊 room is so big and spacious!! Bed linen were in good condition!! I have ordered the breakfast, the lady who was at the service was great!! Working hard and good customer service. It was good breakfast and I am glad I ordered it. Overall the room I stayed is ok for my need , was a night stay

I booked the West End Hotel as an overnight staging point for a triathlon event starting early the following morning. It was ideal, given the start line was at Nairn beach, a mere 5 minute walk away.
I have to say, in a day and age when many hotels have lost a sense of personal service and warmth, the West End Hotel is a definite exception to the rule. Check-in was speedy and hassle free, and the hotel staff gave me a particularly pleasant welcome after a long and rather tiring drive.
My room was perfectly nice, with a sea view. The bed was comfortable and the room nice and airy. I didn't opt for breakfast as i had an early start, but i heard from another competitor who was staying that the staff had kindly put some fruit and pastries into their room fridges as sustenance before the race.
The hotel has private parking but there is also plenty of free on-street parking around it. I left my van there for a couple of nights until the end of the race and knew it would be safe.
The ideal hotel for me for the night, and i couldn't have asked more from the staff. Recommended.

I stayed for 3 nights. Had a lovely room, although people using the lift could be heard.
A couple of minor things in the room, but it was clean and very comfortable.
I ate twice in the sister hotel round the corner. The service could've been slightly quicker but, again, were very friendly and helpful.

A very enjoyable stay, very clean.
The short walk to the restaurant was not a problem.
Staff in both locations very friendly and obliging.
Nice quite location.

You get what you pay for is very true!
No-one on reception on arrival. No help with my luggage. Restaurant closed on a Sunday.
I regret booking to stay at this hotel. Pleasant enough room but I got very little sleep as the walls are very thin. I could clearly hear the loud snoring of the man in the next room.

Loved our stay in the west end hotel. Staff were so nice and helpful. Rooms were clean. Location was great just loved our walks along the beach. Will return

The hotel is nice and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is quite far from city center and a 45£ cab ride each way. Breakfast was not worth the price. The staff was very nice.
