Very friendly, comfortable hotel. Large public car park across the road with a reasonable overnight rate.

I normally leave five star but this time the room was cold and sink would not drain properly and a noise all night
4.1
Cracking value for money and all the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Always stay here needing a nights stay in Kings Lynn. Nice hotel with pubs nearby.

The only problem we had was room 300 right next the lift very noisy

We had a great stay. The staff are friendly. Our room was fantastic & very large. The breakfast was great & the chief kept coming out to top everything up. The breakfast staff worked really hard to make sure everything ran like clockwork.
4.1
Great place to stay, the staff were friendly and the room was spotless

This is a hotel where we have been regular customers over a number of years and have stayed here 3 times in the past 15 months. However on this occasion we have a very mixed review of our latest visit. The majority of the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We ate in the dining room for one evening and as we have previously discovered, the food was excellent with a small but good menu choice and excellent service from our waiter.
Unfortunately however, our experience on the last night of our stay in the hotel bar was both unexpected and unpleasant. The bar staff called last orders must before 11pm and about 10 mins later, those of us in still seated in the bar were told to leave the room as they had to close it for the night. We were told to finish our drinks in the lounge which as we discovered were both in darkness the closed doors. We quickly downed our drinks and left. If this is the policy as to how the hotel treats its guests from now on, we will not be returning. Since Kings Lynn is my wife`s home town, we are regular visitors and will now look elsewhere for our accommodation.
Finally the parking system has changed since our last visit some months ago. There is a daily charge of £10 but no guarantee of a space should you take your car out in the day or for the evening. There are council car parks nearby but may or may not work out more expensive and less convenient than the hotel.
Overall rather disappointing

Stayed in a large feature room which was so spacious. It over looked the market square which was the only niggle with our stay - but should be highlighted was nothing to do with the hotel.
The Square is a busy place during an evening with locals from adjacent pubs and this lead to a lot of noise, especially on the Saturday, as it didn’t quiet down until the small hours.
A lovely hotel, friendly staff and a nice Prezzo and Nando’s less than 2 minutes walk away.
Also the best full English Breakfast I had in ages, superb.
Would certainly return here again.

Great hotel everything was perfect!

We had a great time . Im local, so i know this hotel is good. Rooms are quite basic, but immaculately clean .
A special mention to the two barmen , Curtis and Ryan , they made our night, such great personalties. The hotel are lucky to have them, so friendly .
If you want a central hotel, as a local person, ithis is the place to stay. , really recommend.

We enjoyed our stay although my husband was recovering from an unexpected operation
The staff were very friendly although a problem with the shower was not rectified

Clean and comfortable and great value for money

Booked 2 nights room only via Expedia.Room (310) fine and bathroom shower excellent. Corridors a little tired however. Parking at rear of hotel a pricey £10 per night. Discovered from receptionist that if stay is under 3 nights your room is not serviced and blamed Covid! Very aggrieved by this as no mention in any of the emails from Expedia or hotel. Also Saturday night is wedding night so expect noise from disco until midnight!

Lovely historic property on Tuesday Market Place. Lots of opportunity to walk the pedestrian mall that runs off TMP. A few chain restaurants are close by (Nando’s & McD’s) with the large Globe Weatherspoon just across. The breakfast buffet at Duke’s was very good with lots of selections kept fresh.

Excellent service from Ashley on arrival in reception. Very helpful and welcoming and ensured our bikes were secure in the ballroom! Receptionist when checking out was also very helpful and friendly.

Lovely stay

Mixed experience. Lovely old hotel abut the noise from outside and inside was appalling. Being a bank holiday there was plenty going on, and the pub next door had music until late, not a problem, but the windows don’t stop any sound at all so the bedroom was far from an escape. Add to that the blinds didn’t fit the window so the room didn’t get dark. In the morning, the bass from the dining room, below, can be heard in the room from 8am (Blue Monday - New Order woke me up). Lovely spacious room, clean, big bathroom but sleep quality was as bad as I’ve ever experienced.
4.1
Parking was a bit of a faff but all in all a pleasant hotel with good staff.
4.1
The hotel was nice but sadly the room I stayed in felt very dark and claustrophobic due to the view of a brick wall. Obviously this can't be helped but wasn't very pleasant
4.1
It was easy to find, central, quiet with clean rooms
4.1
Found a bedbug in my bed, was changed rooms but still not great to say the least!
4.1
Run down. One is tempted to give a high rating for the sake of the over-worked staff, but the owners of this place are clearly cheap. Mildew, clogged drains, worn carpet. Window left open in room to ventilate mold smell. Bubbling, peeling paint on wall beside bed from leaking shower on the other side. Broken/missing knobs in shower. Water damage and peeling paint around room window. Threadbare carpet throughout. Sad.

Really good value for money also clean and very historical property

We had a lovely stay at the Dukes Head, all staff extremely helpful and friendly from minute we checked in, to bar staff, waitress at dinner, all was excellent.
4.1
Lovely hotel but the room overlooked the beer garden of a pub and so was noisy late into the night.
4.1
This was an OK Hotel, nothing special for the price paid.
The Location was superb!! and right across the road from the Corn Exchange.
The Hotel, as a façade, is impressive with lots of lovely old sitting areas and a great bar.
Breakfast was a little disappointing to be honest and very limited cooked options: Full English ...for a Hotel of this rating we would have expected more choice.
No in-room safes.
The Team here are maybe it's best Asset..

Absolutely amazing and the historic feel and touch make it even better

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly- moved us to a different room to avoid some steep stairs and gave directions on how to get to places. Breakfast was good especially if booked with room giving good value. Also offers on dining and car parking during March a plus.
4.1
Very noisy room. Water in the shower not hot enough. Absolutely terrible communication.
4.1
Unfortunately our room, 114 was very damp. It had a terrible smell as soon as you walked in.
The shower worked well but the water didn't run away and was overflowing. This is obviously a common problem in this room as the wall of the ensuite has been patched up and shows serious water damage in the bedroom. Also the sink never emptied either.
This shows really poor maintenance of the property.
The staff that we spoke to were lovely, the location is brilliant for the town and local amenities.
Doubt we'd stay here again though as the room was so bad. 114 should not be used again until the plumbing and damp has been properly rectified.
A manger was supposed to call us and discuss the issue, but we have heard nothing.

Hotel was very clean, staff very pleasant. Convenient for where we wanted to go

Nice central position

The Dukes Head has always been the main hotel in the town (I grew up in Kings Lynn) and I was looking forward to the stay. Whilst the diwnstairs public areas were lovely the second floor was very tired and to be.honest a real disappointment. The room was clean although there were stains on the throw on the bed but the furniture has laminate missing in several areas and you could see the chipboard underneath. The tv didnt work although this was rectified The shower drained very slowly and I had to turn the shower off midway through and wait 3 or 4 minutes to prevent flooding the bathroom. We were offered a different room but as we were heading out to meet family for a meal we decided to stay The hotel were aware of the drainage issues so I am not sure why they.put us in there when there were obviously other rooms available.
4.1
Very convenient to explore Kings Lynn on foot. The only thing the hotel need to improve on are the lights in the room. They are very dim and the room look quite gloomy.
4.1
Lovely central hotel. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Bonus to have free parking. Room clean and bed very comfy. Hotel has nice chill out seating rooms. Only down was TV wouldnt work but didnt detract from our visit
4.1
Very depressing hotel. The decor was drab and lacked any personal touches. It gives the impression it is well past its prime. That said, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast good with fresh fruit, a well cooked breakfast let down by poor coffee and no honey. A snack in the bar was disappointing, no ciabatta despite being in the menu and no sparkling water (like the honey awaiting delivery) This could be a good hotel because it is in an excellent central location but until it receives a shakeup, it is best avoided.

Have stayed here several times in the past and always felt the service and auality was very good. Not this time i'm afraid. We had several issues that included the electronic lock on our bedroom door not working and having to walk to reception 4 times to get new cards then wait over 2 hours until they brought in a maintenance man to fix it before we could get it. Checked in 2pm got into the room properly 4 hours later. We dined in the main restaurant that evening, 31st Dec, and the menu, which is usually very good, was limited and thr quality was quite poor accross all of our meals. We were given a partial refund but not before being quized by the manager. There were lots of other things including limited staff at times. We would have to think hard before staying again, such a shame as it is very handy for the corn exchange.

We have previously stayed in this hotel therefore we were not surprised to find that our room was very clean and well equipped with excellent wifi available around the hotel. The only adverse issue with the room was the heating. It could not be reduced from 23degC so had to leave the window open overnight but otherwise, a very comfortable room.
Since our second night was NYE, we had not anticipated that the bar would be closed at 10:00pm and when we asked staff about this, we were given different explanations. In the event it remained open until 11:15pm
We found all staff who we encountered to be polite, friendly and efficient and were very happy with the dinner in the hotel restaurant on NYE both in terms of the quality of the food and the price.
Overall an excellent choice for a short break in Kings Lynn

Fantastic hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were friendly and super helpful, room was reasonably priced, comfortable, and the hotel quiet. Breakfast was very good. Worth noting that my room didn't have a mini fridge and there wasnt a plug socket mext to the bed. But those are just helpful observations, not a complaint. This was a superb place to stay.
