Perfect place to stay when visiting Modica. Conveniently located close to Modica's old town and main attractions. The Palazzo itself is beautiful and well maintained by the family who owns it. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and give you helpful advice on what to do/see in Modica and surrounding areas. Stay here, you won't regret it!

Loved our stay in the Palazzo. Room was large and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and it was very interesting to see the pictures of the several generations of the family who have lived here.

A fabulous old palazzo that we really enjoyed staying in, and a great location on the main street (Corso Umberto), within easy walking distance of restaurants and cafes. After staying in some modern refurbished buildings the old world charm of Il Cavaliere made a nice change.

The owner of the Palazzo was very gracious and considerate. He was the 6th generation to live in this beautiful place...

We appreciated the friendly staff and delicious breakfast in the sunny, elegant salon. Our ground-floor room was clean and spacious, though a bit dark. We would recommend requesting a room on a higher floor, where you might get more natural light.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this charming palazzo perfectly located on the main street of magical Modica. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It was such a treat to open your eyes in the morning and see the amazingly beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. The view from the balcony of illuminated cathedral at night was magical. Bed was very comfortable, the bathroom huge, very clean with all the necessities. Breakfast room was very elegant with the photos on the walls. We had an interesting conversation with a few members of the family who owes the palazzo. What a beautiful family. Thank you very much for sharing your house with us. Irina and Alex

Had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Beautiful location and fantastic house and room - all we could have asked for! Modica is a great centre to stay in for exploring the incredible sights, wild flowers and scenery around this area. The hosts were friendly and warm and breakfast was exceptional- highly recommended.

The location is not on my map, so I take quite long time to find it. The sign is not so easy found. My room was not in the main side, feel like stayed in a housekeepers room: very spacious but very cold! Breakfast is standard style. It took time during check out. I almost forced to pay twice but luckily, they finally got clear and let me go.

This hotel is probably not for people expecting all convenience of newly minted building. It is not. You cannot expect it from the 17th century palace. What you are acquiring is exact touch of the past together with good amenities. It is highly unusual architecture, internal courtyards, and view of no less old city.
But the greatest delight are owners themselves, people who themselves are the best reason to travel.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful ceilings in baroque italian palazzo although our room wasn't in the main building. I suspect it was storage or servants quarters but it was still acceptable.. Very central so we could walk to everything we wanted to do. Parking not a problem when we went at the end of May. And we had a private table and chairs to site outdoors.

This was our third time staying at Il Cavaliere so needless to say we are more than satisfied with the accommodation. The location on Corso Umberto is ideal and there is free parking only 100m away. The owners are very friendly and helpful and you even get a friendly greeting when they meet you on the street. We love Modica itself and the surrounding area and will undoubtedly be back at Il Cavaliere

The Palazzo lived up to our expectations for our stay in Modica. The host family was most charming and helpful throughout our stay. There was a family welcome and a parting farewell. A chocolate on the bed and a bottle of water greeting. The breakfast room is large and colourful typical of these grand houses. In the morning it was filled with sunlight and a delight to consume a leisurely cold buffet breakfast. The breakfast was adequate with several choices to satisfy most tastes. Our accommodation adjoined the Palazzo. It had its own entrance, kitchen and shower room. Ideal for a family coming and going or with a preference to prepare their own food. The rooms were cleaned daily. The Palazzos location in Modica is very central and easy to locate. Historic buildings, restaurants and bars are just a few metres walk away. Car parking requires patience and a hawk eye to spot a space often a short walk away.
