Room was exceptionally clean and in lovely condition. Bed was comfortable but pillows were of a low quality not offering much neck support. Staff were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately our overall enjoyment was affected by the location of out room (a corner room facing the high street). The outside noise (bars, clubs, traffic) were very loud until 3.30am. If you can request a room on the other side of the corridor the noise should be less.

Lovely clean room. The mattress is a little thin and can feel the springs so didn’t sleep too well. Within walking distance to shops and pier.

Had to change rooms as there was a constant whirring noise.
Heavy dust in both rooms, light shades and cupboards.
Although the rest of the room was very clean.
I had to call staff as a half naked, drunken guest asleep in the communal room their clothing strewn along the corridor, fire extinguisher taken off the wall laying on the floor, staff couldn't get them into room so left the person snoring outside our door.
Why wasn't this picked up on security camera
The heat in the rooms was unbearable, although fans were supplied, unable to sleep with them operating.
Room was on the road so very noisy. Constant noise from the public till 4am.
So couldn't open the window to negate the heat.
The staff were excellent .
Having said that I wouldn't use again, and wouldn't recommend it.

Good convenient location. Clean well appointed rooms. Staff welcoming and very helpful.
Only issue is the room on the 2nd floor was unbearably warm and there was no way to manually control it. The staff provided a floor fan on our second night and moved us to an upper floor day 3 and 4. I would stay again but request a higher floor.

Temperature above 30 degrees in the room (it was 19 degrees outside!) and no way to cool it down, other than to open the window onto an extremely noisy and drunken high street or to put on a noisy fan. Terrible night’s sleep. This is a common and ongoing problem judging by other reviews.

When i arrived it was raining and door wasn't open so had to faff about ringing a number. Luckily they came to let me in quickly. Then i got to the room but as i entered the corridor i was met by a real change in temperature. It was very warm. The temperature in the room said 28° !! I tried to reduce it but it wouldn’t. The room had two windows open so they obviously knew it was ridiculously warm. I went for dinner with a local friend who suggested i ask for room change. When i asked i was told "not possible as place full". Reluctantly i slept with windows open and fan blasting on me which made the room noisy so difficult to sleep. At 6am we all got woken to a fire alarm. A few people popped head out of room but it certainly didnt look like a full hotel to me! Finally there is no hair dryer in the room and when i asked was told you need to.ring for one as they dont allow them in room dor health & safety risk! Its a 4 star apartotel with kettle's etc, and used by adult's. All places provide hairdryers usually, so again felt lazy and un customer focused! Worst still is there wasnt an internal phone so you had to dial using your own phone 🙄 it just felt silly. I wouldn't recommend. The shower door was also broken and kept coming off it slider.

The property was ok and the staff friendly. However the corridors and bedrooms were far too hot and there was no air conditioning available and a minimal window to ventilate so very uncomfortable to be in

A new hotel - I stayed on the 6th floor which was clearly brand new. The hotel was very clean and a pleasant stay overall. Some teething issues in that some of the appliances were not working (microwave) as they were brand new and not used before, but I am sure these will be ironed out in due course. No air conditioning though, and even though it was only an 18 degree day, it was very hot in the room. My room (suite) did not have a window, but a fan was provided which helped. Staff extremely helpful throughout.

Probably the single cleanest place in hastings. Great room. all furniture and fittings brand new. Staff were very friendly. Well done Vive team.

Poor service at check in

I had high hopes for our first stay at Vive in Hastings, as Hastings desperately needs an injection of reasonably priced decent hotels. However we had NO SLEEP at all due to excessive room + hotel temperature; noise; and light polution. The hotel was SOOOO hot (on a cool day). Even the corridoors. The heat hit you as soon as you walked in. Although a fan was in the room (which should have been an indication of what was to come) it was impossible to regulate the room temperature. There was a thermostat in the room, that was set on lowest setting. Opened a window, but gave little relief, and there was so much road noise. There was also a constant 'humming' noise, which we believe was from a ceiling air vent (which gave no comfort to the extreme temperature). The curtains, although with blackout lining, did not meet in the middle, and had spaces all round the outside letting light in day and night! The noise of the buses and traffic together with the bright lights outside; and the excessively hot temperature made it impossible to sleep. We also left a quality shirt behind in the wardrobe (our fault), but on contacting reception it was nowhere to be found! (Cleaner obviously had a good tip!)

This place deserves no stars.
Travelling from the USA i had booked one night and arranged to meet friends at 5pm.
Checkin was at 3, when i went there, room was not ready, came back at 4.30pm room still not ready so they switched me to another another room.
When i got to the room there was no bed linen, no towels and no toilet paper, the room was dirty and had not been cleaned and there were dirty pots in the sink.
I complained to the front desk and all i got was "it's not my fault, i told you the room wasn't ready" (the other one). so it appears they switched me from one dirty room to another.
I was already late to meet my friends and asked for the missing stuff to be brought to my room so i could shower and leave. A guy came to the room with TP and sheets but no towels, when i asked for towels he walked away, brought towels and not the TP or sheets. then i asked him to get me TP. He looked like a dog that had been shown a card trick. He then offered to change the bed linen and i told him to come back in 30 mins after i had showered and he would have all evening to clean the room and put clean linen on the bed.
I came back 7 hours later at 12:30am to find nothing had been done, so i slept on top of a comforter, showered in the morning and left ASAP. It looked like they had 3 people running the place, completely and utterly understaffed and those that were there were incompetent and uncaring. A disgrace of a hotel and i will be asking for a full refund of my money.

Staff lovely and friendly, the hotel is mainly clean and tidy. However couldn't get onto wifi a couple of the days and cooker wouldn't turn on or cut off on me half way. Also shower clogged up. The app for the laundry doesn't work for android so had to use my colleagues phone to be able to wash my clothes

No air conditioning- extremely hot.

Stay away. I reserved a room via hotels.com but when I wanted to check-in they told that they are fully booked and theres no room available and ask for a refund. Worst hotel experience in my life.

Let down by hotel and hotels.com. About 3 hours before arriving, we booked it! A last minute thing. There was nothing to state that the hotel had no water, so we booked the non-cancellation stay and arrived to fine we could not shower, run taps, wash hands, flush the toilet or cook properly. We were mis-sold our room as there was no warning and the email from reception to welcome us that arrived a day late also had no mention or warning. They put money over the customer experience and hid behind the cancellation policy to avoid giving our money back.
We had no choice but to stay and were given 6 bottles of water! The toilet situation was revolting and not being able to shower after an afternoon at the beach was also horrible.
Hotels.com said the hotel refused to refund us. I asked again and we got a 30% refund!
I would have come back to this hotel as the room was nice and it’s a convenient location, but that was dependent on the treating us better than they have. It’s not their fault a water main broke. Had I’d happened during our stay, I would have been ok, but charging someone in full a day after knowing the issue and not warning people upon booking is mis-selling and dishonest. Therefore I would warn you to avoid as their policy is money first, customer 2nd.

Central location, new hotel modern decor. Great place to day

An absolute shambles, worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Got there and was greeted so off to a good start quickly followed by my room key not working, walked down to reception to get another one, had to be walked to my room so they could open the door for me still no key for my room, then had a knock on my door 30 minutes later with a new key for my room tested it and still did not work, waited another 30 minutes got another key and finally it worked. An hour of sitting around waiting for a key fob to be provided, chose this property as it looked very nice and like they had a decent clientele so thought I would get a good night sleep. Was woken up at 3am in the morning to loud TVs playing in other rooms, the walls are super thin you can hear other people's toilets flush, called the reception at 4am as wanted to make sure I wasn't being unfair but the noise didn't quieten down. Reception said they would investigate left it another hour and still loud TVs playing so hadn't been investigated or anything done at all. Finally I contacted reception again at about 5am I finally heard someone visit the room next to me. Silence at last, if you have any type of driving or important meeting or just something where you need a good night's sleep I would avoid this, had to end up staying in Birmingham as I was just too tired to continue driving so cost me extra money. Property wouldn't refund my stay or offer any kind of compensation at all. Never had such a bad experience.Do not recommend

Room was lovely , staff the same.
But the road that runs next to this hotel is incredibly load , street racing , fights , bottles being smashed. I’m half deaf and was still woken by very loud noises 3 separate times.

Always a great place to stay.

Great hotel for Hastings compare to other hotels but the bed and mattress is uncomfortable and room temperature can be tricky. Had to wake up few times to adjust the room temperature. Very clean room and super friendly staff however.

I love this property. It’s very modern and has everything you need including robes! Highly recommended.

Perfect in almost every respect except the temperature of the room / lack of AC / inability to open window. It was 27 degrees all night - if that gets improved, I’ll be back!

When we arrived in the room the temperature on the room thermostat read 28 degrees it was boiling in the room the rooms don’t have air conditioning but are supposed to have fans to cool it down not to be found I went to reception one of the receptionists I guess they live in house kindly let us have one of hers we later learnt other people had the same problem the tv language had been changed so couldn’t get the tv to work had no channels stored the Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room even after joining the network the biggest problem we had was the loud music until 3 o’clock in the morning from bars and clubs plus our room was above a taxi rank so the noise from people leaving the clubs then standing and talking loudly while waiting for a taxi went on to about 3.30 the hotel is in a buddy side road so there was also a lot of traffic noise maybe will was just a bit unlucky with the room but every room facing that side of the hotel will experience the noise we wouldn’t consider staying hear again

Very nice room, clean, comfortable and staff was super nice and friendly. Location was perfect too. The only problem was the room was the room really really hot even though they provided 2 fans. We had to leave the window open all night which can get really loud outside on weekends which is understandable but we had no choice as it was too hot.

Stayed as in Hastings for festival. Lovely well equipped rooms. Bed comfortable nice to have tea coffee and biscuits available. Only complaint was charge of £20 per hour to check in early to drop bags off in room though room was ready bit extreme.

Lovely studios, central location right next to Hastings beach. Staff are helpful and available at reception 24-7

Its a New Hotel so really lovely, clean. Tea and coffee & cooking facilities all in apartment too. Loved it.as

The room had everything we needed. Very clean and tidy. You could tell the hotel was new. Surprisingly quiet considering the very central location. Only 2 minutes walk from car park and train station. Smack bang in centre of town. Minor issue that the toilet seat didn't fit on the toilet and we didn't realise that the fridge had to be switched on at the mains, so our wine and water got warm without us realising. This could be resolved by being turned on just before guests arrival or mention of it at check in. Otherwise perfect!

Nice clean hotel, friendly staff only downside no parking at the hotel.

Lovely stay. Perfect for what I required it for. Warm welcome. It was a great studio.
