About this house rental
A magnificent 300-year-old Cornish townhouse which, in the 1800s, was originally the home of a wealthy merchant. During the last century, it was a sweet shop and more recently a thriving restaurant. Today it is a fully restored family home, retaining many original features including wooden beams - one of which is reputed to have come from the defeated Spanish Armada. The house sleeps up to 12 people in three doubles (all en-suite), a twin room and a bunk room that includes a pair of bunk beds.
Osborne House is a very spacious family home which comfortably sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms. Crafted from local slate and stone the house retains many original features including wooden beams (one of which is reputed to have come from the defeated Spanish Armada), decorative encaustic floor tiles and traditional windows including a stained glass panel and original wooden sash windows. The house is perfect for all seasons and the open-plan design is ideal for getting together with family and friends. With quality furniture and soft furnishings throughout, guests will appreciate the attention to detail. While there’s no outside space or garden, the beach is very close and less than a minute away on foot. The house is normally let from Saturday to Saturday during the peak season but we offer long weekend breaks during other times. The house is a no-smoking property and we regret that we can't take pets, service or emotional support animals. Wifi internet access is available.
Joining instructions are usually sent out 2 - 3 weeks before arrival. Guests can normally access the house from 5.00 pm on the first day, although we will our best to get you in well before this. We ask that your accommodation be vacated by 9.00 am on the day of departure. Unfortunately, our cleaning company dictates these times, although we will do our very best to extend these.
The caretaker is available for any maintenance needs during your stay.

This coastal location in South-East Cornwall is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape from the urban hustle & bustle. The house sleeps up to 12 and is ideal for family holidays, birthday parties, groups or reunions.
This coastal location in South-East Cornwall is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect escape from the urban hustle & bustle. Looe itself is divided by the river and the old town has a maze of alleyways and back streets to explore as well as the banjo pier and sandy beach. Looe has all sorts of galleries and shops and there are numerous restaurants, pubs and cafes too. The harbour is the perfect place to watch the world go by and Looe is a thriving fishing town. Further afield, explore the picturesque village of Polperro whose tiny harbour was once a hub for brandy and tobacco smuggling. Or take a walk along the coastal path and enjoy the spectacular Cornish scenery. Looe is a great base from which to explore Cornwall and nearby you will find the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Restormel Castle.
The house has the benefit of allocated parking for two cars (one space is in the Beachside carpark at the end of the street, the other is an allocated space in the Millpool carpark which is 7 - 8 minutes away on foot). Guests are welcome to drive into Lower Chapel Street, just a few yards from the entrance, to unload and load etc.

Great location and lots of room for all of us . Would have like more baking utensils given that we cooked family meals every night. they had plenty of dishes and silverware.

We had a marvellous Christmas and New Year at Osbourne House: We checked in at 1pm on Christmas Eve and it was perfect from then on. Cooked our Christmas Dinner on the superb range and there was plenty of crockery and utensils for our large family. House was beautiful and warm and everything was extremely clean: Osbourne is a superb period property and felt so happy to be able to spend Christmas with the family in such a beautiful place

Great base for a group stay, there was 11 of us and there was enough space for us all. Osborne House is the perfect location to access the beach and town. It was super clean and full of character.
We walked the coastal path to Polperro, went mackerel fishing and spent the evenings swimming in the sea and had beach bbqs.
Looe is not easy driving for large cars though and watch out for noisy, vicious seagulls!

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in St Neots. Cottage was large and very well equipped....we were 6 adults and 6 children. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and spent time in the town and on the beach post wedding. Some of our extended family joined us for dinner on the Friday and the cottage was more than suitable for the extra guests. Would stay again as location is superb... James was most accommodating and we were able to get into cottage a little earlier which made life easier with the younger children

This was an excellent place for our family to stay, great large dining area and open plan kitchen for meals and plenty of bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. The location right next to the beach was also perfect.Would definitely go again.
