About this apartment rental
Plaidy at The Moorings is a 2 bedroom holiday apartment in West Looe. It's a little holiday haven with the most incredible views.
The main feature of the apartment is the lounge with its beautiful bay window and the view! It's the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy the view of Banjo Pier and out along the coastline to Rame Head. Watch the world go by in East Looe town or watch the fishing boats as they come back in from the sea and land their catch in Looe Harbour. If you can tear yourself away from the window, a TV and DVD player are also provided in the lounge!
There is a spacious main bedroom with a kingsize bed, wardrobe and vanity area. The second bedroom is smaller, but also has wardrobe, vanity area and can either be set out with 2 single beds (2'6'' wide) or 1 kingsize bed, providing flexibility to suit your requirements.
The newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped with double oven, hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and a dining table for 4. This leads to a utility / drying area, which houses the fridge (with small freezing compartment), and a microwave.
Plaidy has a good sized, gated terrace area out the front of the building. This also looks out on to those great views. It is a perfect spot for enjoying your morning cuppa or alfresco dining.
Plaidy benefits from free WiFi access for all guests, and is located close to all of the local amenities of Looe. East Looe can be reached by crossing the bridge at the end of West Looe Quay. Alternatively, at high tide during the holiday season you can catch a small ferry boat across instead - then you really know you are on holiday by the seaside.
We would advise that Plaidy is a first floor apartment. It is accessed initially from the road by a little pathway up, but then there is a staircase leading up the outside of the building to our front door (as shown in the photographs). These steps are perfectly fine for most, but we do advise all of our guests to take care and hold on to the rail. Although the apartment is absolutely ideal for families, we would suggest, therefore, that it is not a great option for those with children under 12 years old. We also wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues.
There is no parking immediately outside Plaidy, but guests can choose to either pay to park on West Looe Quay, (just a short walk away and visible from the bay window in the lounge), or benefit from free on-street parking on Marine Drive just past Hannafore Point, which is just 5-9 minutes walk (depending on where you get a space).

Chosen for the window seat with views along the river and across the sea. Gorgeous, apart from the 3 days the next door apartment had scaffolding across the view that we weren’t warned about (the people downstairs knew). Plenty of parking nearby and easy walk to East Lois for shops and the beach.

The apartment is perfect for couples or families with older teenagers. Due to the location you have to put your car a 10 minute walk away which is fine. It's worth it for the views. The apartment is nicely kept clean and as everything you require. The only criticism I have is that midweek. We had a family move in above us with small children and it was very hard to get any peace and quiet for all the banging and walking around above us.

Wonderful apartment with outstanding views. Not for the less mobile you need to be energetic to tackle the walk from the car park followed by the slope and precarious steps up to the apartment. However if you have the energy the views are very well worth it. The apartment has everything you need we were sad to leave

PLAIDY sits proudly, high on the West Bank of Looe near the final bend in the river, with views in both directions and out across the beach. Whilst the external steps for access are a bit of a challenge the interior is well and tastefully appointed and welcoming. The beds are excellent!

Spectacular views of Looe, amazing sun rises. Steps are steep upto apartment and you have a steep short walk up to it too but knew this before we booked, just bear this in mind when booking. Short walk to East Looe but also nice places to eat in West Looe, The Jolly Sailot pub, The Tasty Corner Cafe and Harbour Moon looked nice food but just had drinks there. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you

Great views to the Bay and estuary. Lovely bay window. Didn't realise the balcony was on a different level to the flat itself and being down the flight of steep steps carrying things up and down wasn't easy and so made the use of the balcony unrealistic really. Otherwise the flat was lovely. Plenty exercise up and down the ramp and steps and to and from the car etc......walked off all the great food and drink enjoyed in Looe

Access is difficult and not for the aged, infirm or Rhodes with young children! But you’re rewarded with stunning views and a lovely well appointed, compact 2 bedroom apartment, separate laundry facility and a shared sun terrace. Very enjoyable!!

We had a fantastic long weekend in this lovely apartment. Found somewhere to park for free just a short walk away. We had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Views to die for...
Easy transaction in booking this property, Nick was responsive and helpful. Apartment provides everything you need for a stress free relaxing stay. The view towards Looe Bridge and across the sea are breathtaking and very picturesque especially at night when the lights are on. I will certainly be staying here again. Parking overnight is £2 and only a 3 minute walk away from the Apartment along the harbour. Plenty of restaurants to choose from I recommend the Sail Loft for a special occasion.

Lovely place with a fabulous view
As we arrived in the dark, it was a little tricky until we got use to our surroundings. Inside it was fresh, clean and warm. The beds are very comfortable, the shower real good and then in the morning to see the views was breathtaking. Would recommend to anyone and stay again.

The Location was breathtaking and superb sea vies
Nice little village, Parking is a BIG issue all round the village and roads are NOT the best to get around, need to be very carefully when driving around the whole of Cornwall, but its a must, lots of other places to visit near by and driving is not a great distance, I will visit this place again

Lovely holiday
Great apartment with stunning views with everything you would need in an apartment. Easy reach of town and beach,with a useful ferry which took you to the other side of the harbour would definitely recommend this place but you do need to be able bodied as steps to apartment are quite steep, no problem for us. If I had one negative comments the tiles in te bathroom could do with being re grouted. But a great stay. Thank you.

Fantastic views over Looe
The apartment is located approx. 10 min walk from the main street in East Looe.
It's located on 1st floor, which maximises the views from the living room and kitchen. The apartment was clean and very comfortable and had dedicated seating table area on the patio outside.
I would definitely recommend and potentially return in the future.
I've rated communication as poor, as we had to chase the owner for access information the day before our stay which appears to have been an oversight at their end, this made our arrangements very stressful in the 48 hours before our stay.

Had a week stay here and it was fantastic. The apartment was spotless and the views are incredible. Lovely touch having binoculars in the drawer, spent time watching the trawlers unload. Would definitely go back and highly recommend

Wonderful Apartment
The Apartment is in a beautiful location overlooking the harbour. We spent most evenings sat on the window seats with a glass of wine enjoying the beautiful view. The Apartment itself is very clean and well equipped , comfortable bed and sofas plenty of hot water. We would definitely come back here to stay. There is no parking at the Apartment but the free parking is a lovely short walk away and there is always a space. I would highly recommend this Apartment.
