2019 VISIT ENGLAND GOLD AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
This gorgeous seaside cottage, set just yards from the South West coastal path, has a wonderful feel to it, is deceptively spacious and retains the charm of past ages whilst providing comprehensive and modern amenities.
Under new ownership for 2019 Thrift Cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout and you will feel at home from the minute you arrive, from the pretty rose arbour in the front garden to the hand painted furniture, designer soft furnishings and quirky extras like the driftwood handrails. The accommodation is arranged on two levels with open plan lounge/dining room with a Smart TV and electric woodburner for those chilly evenings and a well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor. A door from the dining area leads out to the good sized garden with furnished patio and BBQ and pretty summerhouse overlooking the sea. On the first floor are the master bedroom with comfortable king size bed, a good size twin bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower over. Two beaches are within 350 yards; Plaidy, a pebbly beach with many rock pools to explore and Millendreath, just down the steps - large, sandy and perfect for swimming. The Black Rock Cafe right on the beach serves wonderful locally sourced food throughout the day and evening and you can also hire kayaks and stand up paddle boards during the Summer months. Looe town centre is 5 minutes in the car or a 20 minute walk along the coastal path which has spectacular views over Looe Bay. There is private parking for two cars and free Wifi.
A beautiful cottage in an ideal location for a seaside holiday in a peaceful area of Looe and from which to explore further into Cornwall. One well behaved dog welcome. Please see the facilities tab for further info and accessibility.

We have just spent a perfect week in 'Thrift Cottage'
Everything we could have wanted or needed was provided on arrival and the cottage itself was in immaculate condition.
We loved how close it was to the beach even though it was a few steps but it was well worth it.
A bonus is the bakery at the end of the lane that does great pasties and cream teas

Delightful cottage. Very clean, Attention to detail. Spent hours admiring the painting in the living room! Great location. Family loved it. Our daughter spent hours in the summerhouse studying.
Nearest beach is a short downhill walk. Coming back up takes a little longer as it's pretty steep. The cafe serves great food on the beach. Very friendly atmosphere.
Dogs are only allowed on the beach. before 9am and after 6pm. Great walk in nearby woods if you have a dog.
I would recommend this cottage highly. If I had to say something negative it would be you are overlooked in the back garden but overall it's near perfect.
Everything worked.

Beautiful cottage in a great location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything that you need.

The cottage is well equipped (Wifi, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, hairdryer, ironing board - even toys for the beach) and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the little quirky details (like the wallsticker).
The cottage is only a few minutes away from Millendreath Beach, where you can find a nice cafe and small bar. Deck chairs, sunbeds, body boards, kayaks etc can be rented. You need to climb a few steps though to get to the beach.
To get to Looe you can take the coastal path which takes between 20 and 30 min. The view is breathtaking but if you are elderly or have to push a pram it may be challenging as there are a few steep parts.
There are many shops and restaurants in Looe. During the summer it is advisable to book a table beforehand as it can be busy.
We loved our stay at Thrift Cottage :).

Stairs to loo between bedrooms were difficult. The radiators and tiny electric fire were not adequate for the size of the downstairs. The walks to the beaches are steep! Stick with Plaidy, Millendreath not pleasant! But, pretty cottage and decor was excellent!

Absolutely perfect cottage, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed for our weeks stay. Can’t recommend this place enough, best cottage we’ve stayed in!

Cosy and Convenient
Excellent property for a self catering getaway. Good location, close enough to resort but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.
All fixtures and appliances are really good quality. Tastefully furnished and decorated.
The summer house was an added bonus and the rear garden is lovely to sit in and enjoy a barbecue.
It’s a pleasant walk along the costal path leading to Looe beach and the town and if you don’t want to walk that far there is a beach just behind the property which has a bar and food.
Handy for lots of nearby picturesque harbour villages that make Cornwall what it is.
A very pleasant stay!

Lovely Cottage near Looe
The booking details were exactly as advertised. The booking process was good. The Agent kept us fully up to date with things going on. On arrival it was all exactly as expected. The cottage was fully equipped and comfortable. We did have a problem with finding keys to the summer house but a quick call to the agent resolved this.
The location is beautiful close to the beach and a pleasant coastal walk to Looe.

Beautiful cottage in a great location.
We have just come back from a week at Thrift Cottage with our 2 children and our dog. It was our first trip to Cornwall and we had a great time, even though the weather has somewhat been against us! The cottage was just as beautiful as in the pictures and was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Just a 2 or 5 min walk to the beach’s which was amazing for both the kids and the dog. There is a great cafe and gin bar on millendreath beach and would highly recommend both (depending on what time of day you go). Beautiful Looe is a 20min walk along the coastal path or a 5min drive. A 15min drive away is the gorgeous village of Polerro which is well worth a visit...if you want to taste the best fish and chips ever make sure you seek out the 3 Pilchards pub, the food, drink and service is fantastic.
We would highly recommend Thrift cottage as a real home from home in a beautiful location.

gemütliches Cottage
schönes, ordentliches Cottage, mit allem was man benötigt.
