Walk to Quiet Beach from this Charming Home in Playa Ballena.
Casa Mar es una de las 6 casas simples construidas en nuestro pequeño Pueblo en Playa Ballena. A lo largo de la carretera principal de entrada al Parque Nacional Marina Ballena-Playa Ballena es donde se encuentran estas casas. Estas son casas asequibles ubicadas a 600 metros de la tranquilidad y el bello entorno natural de Playa Ballena (Playa Ballena). Es un simple paseo a playas desiertas. ¡Y el acceso es fácil con un vehículo 2wd!
Casa Mar es la más grande de las casas que consta de 3 dormitorios, 1 baño, una cocina, comedor y sala de estar. Acabamos de terminar de remodelar la casa y cuenta con WiFi de alta velocidad, encimeras de azulejos, baño completamente nuevo, muebles nuevos, 5 nuevos ventiladores de techo, lavadora y secadora y agua caliente en toda la casa. Hay un gran porche delantero y una gran terraza privada cubierta en la parte trasera de la casa.
Esta casa es ideal para pasar algunas noches en nuestro paraíso tropical o como un alquiler a largo plazo para aquellos que buscan disfrutar de la vida aquí en Costa Rica. Las estancias de una semana o más realmente disfrutarán del interior mejorado, la lavadora / secadora y el amplio patio y terraza para espacios de descanso adicionales. Como las ventanas son marcos de madera con pantallas, hemos instalado una caja de seguridad para garantizar la seguridad de los objetos de valor durante su estadía.
Para grupos más grandes, o incluso para viajeros más orientados al presupuesto, una segunda casa que consta de 2 dormitorios y 1 baño puede estar disponible dentro del Pueblo.
Disfrutará de su estadía en Casa Mar y la hermosa costa sur de Ballena desde Dominical hasta Ojochal. Esta casa está perfectamente ubicada en Playa Ballena, a menos de 1 minuto de la autopista principal y luego a 5 minutos de Uvita para ir de compras o de Ojochal por sus delicias culinarias.
Cerca de cada aventura y actividad costarricense está disponible. Puede organizar un viaje a la increíble y más diversa área de Costa Rica, el Parque Nacional Corcovado. Prueba surf, tablas de paddle stand-up, kayak, pesca, snorkel o buceo, cabalgatas, recorridos en cascada, tours en tirolina / canopy, la primera y única línea de Superman en Costa Rica, tours de avistamiento de ballenas y más.

A good place to stay
The four star rating is based primarily on value for money. The house is very basic but it worked very well for us. It is described accurately in the listing, although you should be aware that the smallest bedroom is a walk-through, and access to the back deck requires walking through the bathroom or around the house from the front. We appreciated the amenities including reliable hot water (but not potable water), reliable wifi, washer and dryer. We very much enjoyed leisurely breakfasts on the back deck, where we could see toucans. Our other morning routines were usually a visit to the howler monkeys, who were staying in a tree 50 m down the road from the house, and watching the cows come down the path behind our porch, herded by a friendly farmer each morning. The beach is approx a 4min walk down the road to the national park gate (you will probably see brilliant blue morphos as well as the howlers on the road). A 5 min walk via the field in back takes you to a less populated beach, which is beautiful, and walking north for 10 to 15 min (at low tide) takes you to Arco beach, which is even more beautiful and deserted.
There were some issues with keys and the ceiling fans when we first arrived, but the owners were very responsive and fixed the problems.

Our cabin at the beach
The stay was wonderful. They upgraded us to a two bathroom cabin which was perfect. It even had air conditioning. We heard and saw the monkeys. We would definitely stay again!!

Amazing location
We loved the hospitality of Natalia and the clean, cozy casita. It was a short walk to Ballena Beach and just a bit further to the amazing Arco Beach.
We did not have a car, but the taxi rides to and from Uvita (for shopping or to see the waterfalls) were reasonable.
We would definitely recommend this to friends and family!

Jungle Beach Hideaway
This was the perfect secure and comfortable homebase for my sun and I as we visited our former hometown. A short walk down a jungle road to one of my favorite beaches. I enjoyed waking up each morning to the sound of howler monkeys and birds. The cabin is well equipped with essentials, wifi and AC worked perfectly. The cabins are a perfect mid point between Uvita and Ojochal. Natalia and David are very kind and knowledgeable hosts. We hope to visit again soon.

Great place to stay for a quiet vacation!
A wonderful place to spend a quiet 10 days. It is a short walk to a beautiful and mostly empty beach. Sunsets were spectacular. The house was nice and had everything we needed. However, a few pieces of comfortable furniture for sitting inside or on the deck would have made it even better. Owners were helpful and quick to respond when contacted.

Perfect getaway from touristy Costa Rica
We just got back from staying at Case del Mar and we truly enjoyed our stay there. Both David and Natalia were extremely kind and helpful, and we couldn't beat the location and its proximity to the beach. It did get hot (we were there during the tail end of dry season, so to be expected), but this was still one of my favorite places to stay on our trip. Our kids loved playing with the local children. We all loved the wildlife and the beautiful sunrises over the mountain.

Loved it!
We didn't stay here long and we were definitely regretting it! It was the perfect location, right next to the beach and tucked away in the jungle. We had plenty of space (there were three of us) and enjoyed the open/closed-in concept. Next time we are in Costa Rica we will be staying here for a much longer period!

Tranquility and Hospitality
My family stayed at Casa La Mar from Christmas to New Years eve. It was exactly as pictured - very peaceful rustic cabin on a private piece of land within walking distance to the beach. The hosts David and Natalia are delightful and extremely helpful and informative. Natalia gave us directions to several interesting places in the area and also directed us to the Activity Center in Uvita to organize activities for our week and that was a great tip.
Note that the house is 'rustic' without A/C and is very open. Staying there feels like you are living at least somewhat like the locals do. They are b building a couple more modern cabins with a/c which will be very nice as well.
The Uvita area is quite nice, and it is convenient to visit many points of interest from there... Mangrove Tour by Serape, Osa Canopy Zip Line and the Uvita waterfall were highlights for us, as well as several of the local beaches. You really need a car if you are visiting this area as it isn't really walking distance to much except the beach and one nice restaurant that is only open for lunch.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend David and Natalia highly as hosts!

Schönes Haus in traumhafter Umgebung
Wir verbrachten 5 Tage an diesem schönen Ort. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Ganz in der Nähe ein wunderschöner, einsamer (zumindest in der Green Saison) Strand an dem man gut schwimmen kann. Auch Delphine schauen hier manchmal vorbei. In der Umgebung kann man einige schöne Unternehmungen machen.

Home away from home
I highly recommend staying at Casa Mar. It's location makes it a great launching point for all of the adventure and restaurants in the area. I think our favorite aspect was having the beach so close for taking a sunset swim. The house itself is spacious and provides everything you need if you are the cook at home type. If not, there are plenty of restaurants and local sodas to grab a bite to eat at, all within a 5-10 minute drive.

Location and comfort
My wife and I just got back from a 2 month stay in this lovely house. It is a great spot very close to Playa Ballena, which is an amazing beach that is very un-crowded and great for swimming. It is common to see howler and white faced monkeys on the walk to the beach. A 4wd vehicle is not needed but a car is definitely recommended. There is a restaurant within easy walking distance which has entertainment once a week. The house has a great kitchen, a large master bedroom with an amazing view and 2 smaller bedrooms. It is a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay at. The friendly owners live near by and are very helpful if anything is needed. There are lots of good restaurants in Uvita and Ojochol. Uvita has two good grocery stores and ATM's that do not run out of money. This is a real nice house in a great area. I would recommend it to anyone that loves nature, walking and hanging around the beach.
