This is an inviting and comfortable home, nicely situated near a beautiful beach in Santa Cruz. We are a family of four adults who put the well-stocked kitchen to good use for an involved holiday dinner. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the mid afternoon in the sunshine on the upper deck. The beds are comfy and the hot tub was greatly appreciated. The owner graciously gave us an early check-in. We were happy to bring our well-behaved dog. Everyone had a great time!

This is a lovely modestly-sized property that really tracks the Santa Cruz vibe. It is ideally situated on a quiet side street that dead-ends at a fantastic beach. To get to the beach there is a cliff with about 40 steps down/up to the beach, but isn’t an issue unless you have mobility issues. The deck is lovely and you can relax in the hot tub. Parking is on the street, but wasn’t an issue apart from Saturday afternoon, when we needed to park a few doors down, but not a big deal. The owners were very friendly and communicated in great detail in a timely manner. It was a wonderful week!

The owner was friendly and communicative. The house was clean and had ample towels, linens, etc. The decks were so nice to hang out on after being at the beach. It was a short walk to the beach - we brought a wagon to help with our stuff to and from the beach. We would happily return for another visit.

We loved the cool beach vibe. My daughter was snapping pics of the house. Fun to have a hot tub too. We visited the Monterey Aquarium and We watched surfers, seals and tide pools around Santa Cruz. Great spot for families!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The house is ideal for the neighborhood and we loved how in/out doors blended so well.
For almost all of the week it was myself/wife/teenage daughter here and there was plenty of space. One day we had 3 more people here and still it felt spacious.
We loved the distressed wood and how the house was decorated, and felt the beds were ideal for a good night’s sleep. Kitchen was was equipped and I think every meal we had was eaten at the table outside — very smart to place the table where the morning sun is!
We definitely made use of the hot tub after a long day at the beach, and appreciated the outdoor shower to keep down the amount of sand getting inside.
Shyamal was always available should we have a question and the check in/out was a breeze.
Beach is a block away and it has been our favorite Santa Cruz beach for years, so you cannot beat the location.

Fabulous Beach House
I stayed at Shyamal’s property with my wife and 3 year old daughter for a week in July. We had a wonderful time. The house is a short walk (about 5 minutes with a 3 year old) to a lovely beach. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and we really enjoyed walking to many of the nearby restaurants for dinner. There is no dedicated driveway, but we easily found parking right out front each day without fail (even on busy beach days in July.) The house was very cute and well maintained. The wifi was fast and we easily signed into our streaming services on the smart TV. Shyamal provided plenty of towels and kitchen essentials, and we did a few loads of laundry throughout the week. We absolutely loved relaxing in the hot tubs in the evenings, and listening to the waves from the upstairs deck. It was a fantastic place to stay on all fronts, and we would love to return in the future.

Great beach getaway
Our family of 3 and our small dog had a great long weekend at this home. The close access to an awesome beach was a major highlight - a few minutes of a stroll and you're there. The home was very clean and comfortable - especially the beds, which is always a huge plus with vacation rentals. Our hosts were quick to respond and easy to communicate with regarding anything that came up for us during our stay. While it was made clear that some neighbors were sensitive to noise, we didn't have an issues and it was easy to be mindful. We would definitely come back to this house!

Family trip with my mom and kids. Place had everything we needed. Walk to the beach was maybe two blocks. We could access the beach from a different location by walking another two blocks (stairs were not as steep). Great stay!

A perfect Thanksgiving holiday
My husband and I spent a week in this cozy beach house. Our adult children joined us by mid-week to celebrate Thanksgiving. The location gave us easy access to explore many aspects of the Santa Cruz area, but the best part was being provided the feeling of being home after a day out exploring the area. The house is just down the street from a beautiful beach with a bench for those who want to sit and watch the waves, and stairs for those who want to venture down to the sand to walk along the shoreline. A bouquet of fresh flowers were left in the bedroom that added a welcome touch also. Waking up to the sound of the ocean waves was pretty cool. This house was just what we needed to celebrate our time together this Thanksgiving.

Charming Home
Charming home, very comfortable and good location. Quiet neighborhood. Quick walk down the street to the beach and a nice walk to the Boardwalk for exercise. Enjoyed sitting out on the upstairs deck in the late afternoon before dinner. We would stay here again. The bathroom door knob that leads to the bedroom, needs to be fixed.

I stay in Santa Cruz often and Shyamal’s place is now one of my favorites! What stood out is the walkable location/close to beach, the hot tub/outdoor spaces, lovely touches and home decor, and lots of creature comforts like blankets, towels, comfortable beds and bedding. Great fun stay!
Our family (2 adults, 2 teens, 1dog) really enjoyed our stay. The house was as described, very comfortable, and had a relaxed beach-y vacation vibe. Interesting open design, lots of outdoor space. We prefer staying at places with 3 bedrooms but there was enough space and sleeping spots to make this work. Host was responsive and communicative, and attended quickly to an issue with the toilet. We enjoyed the outdoor shower, hot tub and fully enclosed and landscaped yard, bbq grill. We loved the cute quiet neighborhood, quick walk to a nice beach, local eateries and farmers market. The kitchen was well equipped, good knives and pans. Nice to have full sized washer dryer, extra blankets, nice linens, lots of towels. Bonus—we got to watch olympics on the tv via direct tv! Lastly our dog loved this place and was very comfortable, which has not always been the case. Highly recommend, hope to return!
