Mitchell's Cove Beach House

El patio delantero es completamente privado con asientos en el patio y un excelente lugar para el brunch de la mañana o las barbacoas al atardecer. La cocina está totalmente equipada y está ubicada en el centro para ofrecer un espacio de reunión relajado, ya sea en la sala de estar adyacente o en el área de comedor, e incluye una acogedora estufa de gas para descansar de una mañana fresca. Desde el área de comedor, puede bajar a la sala familiar extra grande y luminosa, donde puede acceder al patio trasero ajardinado y al área semi-privada de la bañera de hidromasaje. Bathmats in the bathrooms would be nice.
You need a banister for the front steps and an assist bar going into the television room. I am somewhat mobility limited.
House was well worth the price and we would love to come back sometime.

This home is located in a lovely part of Santa Cruz on a very quiet block steps away from the beach. The bedrooms are nicely proportioned. The kitchen and living spaces are well suited for a small group. The bathroom in the master bedroom was outdated and a bit dirty (the bathmat was filthy) and they did not leave toilet paper in that bathroom, but otherwise the house was what was expected.
All that being said, we did experience one major disappointment when we discovered that the hot tub was not functioning. The management team was aware of the hot tub issue as they had a team working on it when we arrived. However, it was never fixed, which we did not learn until we tried using it the next day only to discover that it had no water. The management company never bothered to inform us that the hot tub was not operational and only addressed the matter after we contacted them after departure. An apology for the hot tub not being in service did not come until three communications later (over 48 hours after checkout). And, the financial accommodation for the inconvenience was more of an insult than a recognition of the fact that they were unable to deliver on one of their key amenities.
The house is nice and deserves better from its management team. So, while I do recommend the house itself, do not expect the management team to adequately address issues they are aware of.

The home is located perfectly to easily get to everything in Santa Cruz. It also provides a very comfortable place to hang out. Quiet and well landscaped for hanging out in the back yard or entertaining inside. Hope to come back soon.

We loved our stay in this rental. The house has a great lay out with room to spread out. The front and back yards were a hit. We brought our bikes and it was so easy to access the West Cliff path. We were there on a very stormy day and the power had gone out all day. We had contacted the Property Management to see if there were any lanterns. Someone very nicely drove 3 lanterns to our house. That helped so much!

We throughly enjoyed our time at the Mitchell Cove House in Santa Cruz. We were grandparents, parents and two young children for a total of six. The house is well laid out for children (and adults) with a separate “living room” and “family room” areas. The kitchen and dining areas work well and seated us all comfortably with room for more. The kitchen is pretty well stocked for cooking. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. The yard was lovely for gathering and, again, for children. The location was ideal for us; close to Santa Cruz family, a short one block walk to Mitchells Beach and West Cliff Drive. It was also in walking distance to a neat shopping area. We would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

This is one of the best vacation homes we’ve stayed at! The house is very well kept, and beds and furnishings were really comfortable and clean. We appreciated all the spaces to sit and spread out as a family of five plus one dog, and enjoyed to proximity of the home to many local attractions. Highly recommend!

Casual luxury in paradise
We really enjoyed the property and neighborhood. Mitchell's Cove is a short walk and is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and the front and back yard are great. The kitchen was very well appointed, making it easy to cook at home. Also, the hot tub is a fantastic touch. We’d definitely come back when in SC.

Lovely beach rental
Our family had a great stay. We loved being close to the West Cliffs and beaches. The house was clean and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. The backyard was a mini oasis. The property management team was super helpful.

We love this house!
This is our third time staying at this property and we will come back again! Our son is attending UCSC and the house is a great place to stay when we visit. Finding accommodations that take dogs can be challenging. This house is perfect for dogs, since it has a fenced in front and backyard and is only one block from the beach. The house is comfortable and clean. We can't wait to stay again!

Haven on the Water
We came here with two kids to have a relaxing experience after Christmas. It was perfect. The house has a beautiful backyard and the key amenity - a hot tub - which helped us all relax. The location is two blocks from the coast (great for viewing, not for swimming), and there is a playground close by for my youngest. A large tv and playroom kept the kids occupied, and a separate tv-less living room meant I could read and relax in a separate space. I loved the large kitchen. My only complaint is that I messaged the owner twice about bringing a pet, but they never got back to me.

This is one of the few vrbo’s that I’ve stayed in that was as nice as the pics made it look. It’s a warm, friendly feeling house with a lovely yard in a quiet location about a block from West Cliff Dr. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable too.

Another Great Stay
This is our 2nd summer staying at this property. This time for our son’s graduation from UCSC.
What we love most about this house is it feels like a home. Not, one of those typical sterile rental houses.
This home is well stocked with everything you need to hang out at home, cook, unwind, etc. And if anything is missing (such as needing extra propane for the BBQ), call the office & they will be right on it.
Such an enjoyable stay every time.

lovely house close to the beach and the west side of town
Great location, spacious house with beach accessories and toys to entertain kids as well as games for adults. The back yard and front yard are both amazing. We had everything we needed except for coffee, which was surprisingly not provided (coffee maker was).
The house is walking distance from Mitchel Cove Beach and very short drive to Natural Bridges State Park (could have walked had we not been with my older parents). Also a short drive or 15-20 minute walk to a cute natural food store, a couple of coffee shops included Verve Coffee and a wine tasting spot/brewery.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

Wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
We had a lovely time. Long walks with the dog by the ocean. Riding the rides by the beach boardwalk and bike rides around town. The house was wonderful and fit our family perfectly!

Excellent Relaxing House Close to the Beach!
We truly enjoyed our stay here. The house was quiet, well furnished, large, super clean and very comfortable. Sitting outside in the front or backyard one could relax and enjoy the sun and beach air in total privacy! This is truly a gem of a place to stay.

Relaxing, quiet, and wonderful.
The house was very clean. Close to dog beach. 2 blocks to beach walk.
Everything was great except for the TV. No one ever called me back on how to operate tv. We never could turn it off. There were labels on the back of the remotes, but we couldn't turn it off or watch regular TV channels. Window coverings in TV room would be nice to have. Once it got dark, it was creepy. I wanted to vacuum, but couldn't figure out how to clean it and didn't want to leave it full of dog hair. So, I swept instead. Would be interested in staying again.
If we came back in October with a classic car, could we use the garage?

Beautiful and spacious!
We so much enjoyed our stay at this spotless, spacious, well-maintained house! We weere very comfortable and just loved it. Especially being just 2 1/2 blocks from my son's house. The owner of the house was very accomodating to our needs. My only regret is that with the wedding we were attending and the activities that took place morning through the evening hours our time at the house was limited!! Therefore, we are intending to rent this particular property in the near future. Thank you!!!
