This hotel comes with 8-9 different type of private onsen. Breakfast and omakase dinner are good. Staff are very friendly and polite, they would gather to greet you upon your arrival and gather to waive to say goodbye on your departure. Very good experience to stay at this Ryokan

Absolutely amazing cultural experience. Even the breakfast was multi-course with excellent service and explanation. The dinner was even more amazing with 13 courses of tradition Japanese food excellently prepared. The multi-generational family run aspect of this special traditional Japanese hotel made the entire stay warm and immersive and memorable. The hotel pick up from the station and shuttle to the snow monkey park we’re icing on the cake!

We loved everything about our stay. Some have noted it is more expensive than “equivalent options” but other than the extraordinarily expensive Kanaguya hotel which requires booking months if not years in advance, I am not sure there is an equivalent. We definitely felt that the ecperience was well worth the cost and that we received good value.

Quite disappointed about the food, portions were small, after the dinner I need to buy a instant noodles and snack

Lovely traditional Japanese ryokan - a very authentic experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. The free shuttle to and from the station and the monkey park was excellent. The food was fantastic especially the shabu shabu which we’d never tried before. We did find sleeping on the futons a little bit uncomfortable but we wanted to experience a traditional ryokan it so it was worth it!
