staff English level is very limited and not very helpful, it is also a bit over priced for the level of service and facilities which is a little old.

Location amazing, very 1950’s vibe and excellent for relaxing with family with adult children. ski on ski out was great and field excellent for beginners/ intermediate skiers with no queues as at far end of the Shiga fields. Staff professional and friendly. loved our 5 nights.

The property is very run down. Most of the staffs at reception do not speak English, which should be fine. However, when we asked them questions. They would just said "no speak English", and did not offer other kind of help. Food is bad.

Great on-site onsen. Great location for ski-in, ski-out. Good storage facilities for skis. Ski school right next door. Free parking. We travelled with 2 small children, who loved it.

Limited dining nearby. We didn't splurge on the site dinners, although these have to be set up days in advance, so we didn't have the option to change our mind. We ate lunches on the mountain and then instant ramen for dinner. Also they won't let you eat your food in the common areas. Beds ok for comfort. Farther up the mountain, but I suppose this leads to less crowds.

French and Washoku dinner were both wonderful. Particularly Washoku is one of the best we've ever had.

We love our stay here this summer, it was exceptional due to its quietness, various activities within the premise of the hotels and within Shiga Koen. Great location for family bonding!

Option of air conditioning during summer should be available.
