Beautifully decorated, specious, great location in the Cove. Staff very helpful with an early breakfast delivery to our room the night before departure as we needed to depart before the breakfast restaurant opened at 8.30am. Only detraction was the stairs up to the room (we were top floor). Obviously, in these historic buildings, lifts aren't common but I feel it should be very clear before booking, if there aren't lifts. To be fair, a staff member offered to assist us with our bags but we declined the offer (before we realised she meant there were stairs).

All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location is absolutely superb for walking and sight seeing. Being able to wake up in such a location before the tourists arrive was a real treat, and to watch the sun go down too. Fab breakfast to set us up for each day aswell.

It is not a peaceful place to stay during the day, but this is to be expected seeing as it's a pub so we got used to that pretty quickly. It also wasn't very private. Our room opened up to a great view of the sea - but also to all the crowds and pub guests too. So the room could have benefited from additional gauze curtains or blinds, to give some privacy. Or perhaps a low screen on the balcony, so that you can see the sea.

The staff were super friendly on an incredibly busy day! Fantastic service the entire time we were there. The room was impeccable. Great water pressure, clean and insanely good location. The food, woof, lovely! Amazing.

Our room was beautiful, very clean and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Staff super friendly, very attentive, big shout out to Leon who goes above and beyond.

The only thing that was a letdown was the cooked breakfast, buffet was great but didn't rate the full English.

We have stayed here twice before, but some years ago. We were very pleasantly surprised to find it still so lovely after the last challenging couple of years. Lovely decor, comfortable room, great view, helpful staff, good coffee and food! We were lucky with the weather and had some wonderful walking locally.

Breakfast cereal selection was Kelloggs boxes, seemed aimed at children rather than adults?? (But good croissants.) Slightly stained rug in our room but everything else was so good it didn't matter.
