Gute Lage zum Stadtzentrum, nettes Personal. Frühstück gibt’s auf Bestellung, aber man bekommt alles, was man wünscht.
Enge verwinkelte Gänge zu den Zimmern, wo man den Koffer tragen muss. Das Badezimmer ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, das Waschbecken (im Zimmer!) war neu. Es gibt nicht genug Steckdosen im Zimmer. Hätten wir kein Zusatzbett gehabt, wäre kein Platz für Koffer gewesen. Niedriger Wasserdruck in der Dusche.

Die Lage direkt im Ort war sehr gut, auch der eigene Parkplatz. Das Haus und das Zimmer selbst hat seinen ganz eigenen Scham sowie auch in der Beschreibung. Das Personal sehr freundlich und der Frühstücksraum sowie das Frühstück sehr individuell und gut.
Das riesige Treppenhaus ist etwas verwirrend und es dauert bis man sein Zimmer gefunden hat. Etwas frisches Flair würde dem stilvollen Ambiente gut tun.

Our room was a little dull. Right up the back of the old hotel of a multitude of rooms. Food wasn’t great.

Charm, quaintness and history, very quiet, friendly staff.
I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness and worn look of the property. The overall history and location of the property are great. This property really shows its wear and could use A LOT of updating without taking away it's charm. Bathroom doors not closing tightly for privacy is a bit ridiculous, shower stalls too small (I am only 115lb) toiletries inside of the shower becomes a balancing act. Fixtures need updated to newer but charming fixtures. Better bedding. Better lighting in rooms and in dining room would be nice. Carpet is questionable. It is a cute property but some basic updates would really improve it and keeping with the theme.

Looks very scruffy from outside when we arrived. Inside was shabby chic. Staff lovely. Its a warren of stairs n corridors. Diffently not the hotel for infirm. Bedrooms were good with everything supplied.

It’s a charming old property but could do with a few updates. Tv in my room was ancient and poor selection of channels. No USB port to charge phone. WiFi was useless and I had to rely on mobile data.

Rooms were OK but bathroom was very cold . Towels are not big enough.
My main gripe was with the common areas. They badly need to be done up. We stayed there 30 years ago and I don't think it has changed since then

Good breakfast selection and accommodated changes. Comfy mattress. Fantastic location. Building has charm and character. Lots of hot water for showers in our room.
Staff attentive but a bit abrupt at times. Lovely bar area. Rooms a bit tired - wall paper peeling off wall, holes in towels. Problem with hot water in second room.

The beds were very comfortable, and the location was excellent for sightseeing and walking around the city.
But the hotel is really run down and needs a big renovation. Very musty from old carpets. There was nowhere to relax on a very wet day so had to spend the time in the bedroom which was in a remote partof the hotel and had no scenary or view, just a blank wall.

A characterful hotel, full of history and a very welcoming and friendly staff. The location was perfect,
close to the river, castle and all the places of interest.
The room was a bit small for a double, and the bed likewise. The ensuite bathroom had a sliding door, which
didn't quite fit well, so not terribly private.

Really unusual patchwork layout.
Reception area, the few steps, short hall, turn left/right, 4 steps up, short hall 2 steps up, more halls and doors. It felt like a maze.

Nice warm welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and any staff I interacted with were very pleasant and helpful.

Facilities were tired and there were problems with the kettle and tv in the room. Evening meal on the first night was awful.

The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious
Breakfast was lovely except for it saying that the Bacon or rashers were supposed to be grilled on the menu, and they were fried and very salty. The hash browns were sopping with grease and would be better grilled for a crispy taste 🤗 hope I don't offend as we had a really nice stay 👍
