I stayed 4 nights (wed to sun) and enjoyed the whole 3rd floor (bed, bath and patio). The owner was such a pleasure to talk to that it felt like I was staying with a good friend or family member. She provided a tasty, light breakfast to start each day (the jams are really good) and water in the room. This is a very high quality home in a safe location that puts you close to big attractions (liberty bell, independence hall, becuna, olympia, riverfront). She has done a wonderful job decorating the guest quarters. I appreciate someone that cares about how your stay is going. I was also very happy with the gated parking given I needed to leave valuables in my car. Didn't have to worry a bit about it. I absolutely would stay again and I hope to be back. It wasn't far from the river front in case you want to run, walk or ride your bike. 5th street/independence metro station is half a mile away- easy walk.

The bedroom and bath were nice. We really enjoyed having a rooftop balcony we could enjoy the evenings just relaxing. Isolde was a wonderful hostess. By the end of the two night stay we felt like we were good friends with her, her dog Jethro and her sister who was visiting. The downtown location was exactly what we wanted to experience. Staying in the heart of the city, being able to walk places for dining and tourism. Having secured parking allowed us to park and not worry about our vehicle. Isolde was the best. We would love to see her again.

Located in a great spot to access historical sites, Isolde's place was just as advertised. The weather conspired against us so we were unable to utilize the cute outdoor deck, but our host was always sunny, friendly and accommodating. A bonus was a continental breakfast each morning, along with home made jams. When we return to Philadelphia, we hope to return to Isolde's place.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful trip to the city of Philly, and the place we stayed may have been the best part! Isolde is a wonderful host! Understanding and accommodating, but most of all empathetic! She made our trip worth the stay. We will definitely be using Isolde's lovely home as much as possible when planning trips to the city!

Isolde was the perfect host and provided classic European hospitality. Being raised by a German mother, this home brought back fond memories from my childhood. Everything was within walking distance, and the gated parking provided extra security, and no stress, for me and my rental car. Thanks for a wonderful stay! ❤️

What a gem in the city. You couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay. The whole third floor is yours; bedroom, a private bathroom, and an outside deck. Another perk is your own gated parking. Isolde is a most gracious host, available for any wants you may have. I look forward to staying there, again.

I stayed for two nights on the top floor room where there was access to an amazing deck with views of the stars. The host is extremely friendly and a long-time resident who gives great tips on what to do and see. The home is absolutely beautiful - the pictures don't do it justice! I definitely plan to return!

My 16 year old son and I were in town for an event at Lincoln Financial Field. This was the perfect place to stay! It was in walking distance to historic sites and a quick Uber trip to our event. Our host, Isolde, was absolutely wonderful!

We fell in love with Isolde and her beautiful home. The room was beautifully appointed and Isolde made us feel at home immediately. Her home is in the heart of Society Hill. We walked to beautiful Washington Park and the Revolutionary War Museum. In the evening we went out to dinner and then hung out on the lovely roof/deck. Isolde provided us with a delicious Continental breakfast and shared some wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area.

This rental is truly a hidden gem. Isolde, the owner, is simply amazing. She was so very welcoming, easy going and friendly. Her rental is beautiful and charming. It's located in an historic area within walking distance to much of downtown, and includes a private, gated parking space. The room is very comfortable with its own full bathroom, and access to an amazing sun deck. We cannot say enough nice things about our stay. We hope to visit again!

Isolde is a wonderful woman who provides a fantastic VRBO experience! She was very helpful and responsive all weekend and serves a lovely continental breakfast where you can chat with her and get to know more about herself & her home! The location is very walkable and I could not recommend it more.

The room and accomodations were clean and the host was very communicative.

The house itself was lovely and close to all attractions but it lacked privacy. It is really a b&b as there is only a bedroom and a bathroom- no facility to even make a cup of tea without asking the owner first. The rooms are on the 3rd floor so getting bags up and down was quite challenging- also impeded by the amount of furniture and ornaments in the stairwells. We felt acutely as if we we were staying in someone else’s home and only went back to the house to sleep.

Isolde and her property are lovely, we felt very grateful to have chosen to stay with her while in town for the Philly Marathon. Her place was quite convenient to the race related locations as well as a variety of shops and restaurants. We so enjoyed the coziness of our room and the amenities of the property. Would not hesitate to recommend or stay again!

Excellent place to drive in and stay! We parked the car in the gated lot and forgot all about it as we walked the streets of Philly. So conveniently located and within walking distance of everything we wanted. Very clean and gracious host.

Isolde was a welcoming host, and we are glad we stayed at her townhome! It was very nice having our own floor with a comfortable room, bathroom, and rooftop deck. The location was unbeatable and in a beautiful residential area of downtown Philadelphia. We hope to be back soon!

Location was very good for what we wanted to do

Firstly, the reviews of this property were what prompted me to book it. I’d never stayed with a host but the reviews on Isolde’s hospitality and the feel of a European bed and breakfast in downtown Philly convinced me. The photos alone reveal her European influences and I must admit, I felt as though I were in Provence and Bavaria throughout my stay. You have the entire third floor with a private bathroom and rooftop terrace. Perfect for morning coffee or late night meals. You’re also welcome to use common areas like the kitchen and dining room. Isolde is a lovely, welcoming person and she allows guests to have as much or as little interaction as they prefer. Of course, we loved getting to know her and shared meals and chats in the garden. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. A few things to note that are distinctly European and may come as a surprise if you expect traditional American lodging: the TV and bed are not large (not king size). We did not mind this, and since we were there to explore, spent most of our days blocks away in the historic district. Everything imaginable is within walking distance, including landmarks, markets, restaurants, museums, and parks. We’d return again just to enjoy Isolde’s lovely home and company!

My friend and I stayed here for a few nights to attend some concerts at Lincoln Financial Field, and it was a great location! The subway was easy to navigate and the area felt safe at night. Isolde was very kind, and answered our questions regarding public transportation, and helped us park our car in the parking spot by the building. The room is up multiple flights of stairs, but it was lovely and had it’s own bathroom as well as access to a beautiful patio/balcony. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful stay. This place is a short walk to Independence Hall, the waterfront, magic gardens, and old city. The home is very clean and well decorated. You feel as if you walked into a European home. The host is very gracious. I would definitely stay here again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Its close to everything and we love how attentive the host is.
