The place was spotlessly clean, Karen and Alison were so friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. Parking was in the backyard which was very convenient indeed. The location is brilliant for all the amenities Penrith has to offer, for dipping into the lakes during the day to carry out our activities returning on an evening and heading out for a nice meal and drinks. The bed and pillows were really comfortable great after a hard day's hiking and the lovely little personal touches like homemade fudge tablet, chocolate tiffin in our room. Being packed off with homemade flapjack every morning for our walks. The choice for breakfast was really good and my full English set me up every morning for my hikes that day. We will definitely be back and have recommended the Blue Swallow to our friends and family.

Just a great place to stay, Karen and Alison are truly wonderful and ever accommodating. Breakfast spread in the morning is very generous and super tasty. Great chats, quiet at night, very clean and a bonus for Bunty the dog being an excellent side host.

Two more genial and welcoming hostesses than Karen and Alison would be hard to imagine

From the warm welcome, when I arrived, through to my departure, everything was to perfection. The two Ladies that run the Blue Swallow are phenomenal, literally can't do enough for you. The breakfast menu again 10 out of 10, such a refreshing change to see that the menu has been carefully thought out and gives ample choice to start the day. The cooked breakfast portions are plentiful and always arrived at my table piping hot.

I liked there was a table in room to eat off, two fans in the room was great, most comfortable bed, the little extras in room, homemade cake, fudge, biscuits, and I mentioned I was coeliac and Karen gave me gluten free nibbles for the room and each time we went out for the day. Hospitality was excellent lovely hosts couldn't do enough for us Thank-you so much.breakfast was excellent.

Change of towels

Everything was perfect. A small room which is expected for a single booking with everything you need. Home baked goods as treats - all gorgeous, especially the chocolate tiffin! The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was high quality. Breakfast was scrumptious. Thank you ladies 😁👍

Karen and Alison were the best hosts ever made to feel so welcome was our anniversary gave flowers and cards the food was excellent and the free cakes were fab would definitely recommend and we will be back

Really enjoyed my stay here where Alison and Karen were very friendly, approachable, personable and considerate of my needs for my stay. Room was clean, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Blue swallow is a great location base to visit Penrith and the surrounding areas. Their home baked treats were lovely and breakfast was great. Would happily return here if I'm ever back in Penrith.

Fabulous welcome from start to finish. Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious albeit in the basement every effort had been made for a super stay at this lovely B&B. Immaculately clean and super comfy beds and added bonus of home made biscuits in our room with tea coffee. Recommended to all my friends 😃

Bathroom was tiny with a sliding door but that’s minor compared to the fabulous welcome you get throughout your stay

The Blue Swallow is a superb B and B run by the owners Karen and Alison as very much a 'home away from home', Nothing that I asked for was too much for them. It was a great weekend and the fact that I was in the Blue Swallow made it even better"!

This B and B exceeded my expectations in every way to the point that I do not have anything to discuss concerning any negative experiences at the Blue Swallow. I would come again with no concerns whatsoever.

Blue Swallow is a wonderful gem of a place. The property is very well decorated and maintained and perfectly clean. The hosts are welcoming, friendly, and very approachable, but providing help and assistance as required, professionally and respectfully. Excellent breakfast and great selection. They provide are wonderful little additional extras and attention to detail which made the stay perfect. Highly recommended- thank you

There is nothing to dislike - Loved everything - nothing out of place. Great location in Penrith and central to all amenities. Good local knowledge and advice on where to eat and what to do locally
