good value price/quality

Little hard bed

I reached early in the morning at 7am. This was 20 minutes from the airport (away from the beaches and the toursity spots in Phu Quoc) and post COVID there are no buses from the airport, so I took a van to the hostel (after a brief time spent bargaining as I was on a student budget). The lady at the reception was very lovely but she didn't understand my English and so we communicated over Google Translate. Took me a while to explain to her that I had booked a king size bedroom with a view, which she finally took me to, after showing me 2 other rooms - one didn't have that nice a view, and the second had a fantastic view but it was of a higher pay range. Of the 4 cities I stayed in Vietnam, this was the most expensive room since it was a private room and the others were dorms. It is perfect for a short stay if you don't need to travel to the city too much. At 9am, the receptionist changed and there was a younger girl and boy who spoke better English so just easier to communicate with. They were very very helpful and dropped me to the start of my scuba diving day trip in South Phu Quoc. They also gave me great advice for local food (the bridge nearby lights up at night, and just beyond it is Highlands Coffee which is in a beautifully restored grand Vietnamese house) and helped me arrange a budget motorbike ride to the airport for next morning. My visit to Phu Quoc was centered around snorkeling (my first time ever!) and I was there was less than 24 hours. The people at the reception were wonderful, the room and washroom were big and spotless, they gave me a lot of water bottles (most hostels in other cities charged for water). Highly recommend this for short stays if you're not too focused on being by the beach and can walk/cycle the short distance

Distance from the city could be an issue for those who don't have their own transport or who don't want to spend too much on Grab. Also, not on the beach itself, which could be a negative for some.

The staff is so friendly to instruct the way for us to look for the hotel.

It was said that breakfast is included in booking, but actually it was not.
