Second time my group gas stayed at this location, and we absolutely love it. Great spot. Big open spaces and comfortable. It has become an annual event for my friends and I to stay here and enjoy the area.

Shepherd House was a lovely place for our family to meet. We loved having 3 bathrooms and filling the thermal pool was an interesting experience.
The house was large and comfortable and there were extra toys to keep the kids entertained. 😊

It was a nice place to stay. But the thermal pool was very disappointing. We filled it up as per instructions with the help from the agent, only returning the next day to fined it had emptied out. That was our main reason for booking this house!!

House was everything and more than we expected, it had 3 different bathrooms, hot pool and large living areas.
Only a short walk down the hill to the lake front and a small drive into middle of town.
We stayed as a midway meeting point for family from around the country, this place ticked everything that we that we were looking for and will def ben staying again.

House was perfect, classic Kiwi bach. Thanks for sharing! Heaps of room for us, Kitchen and basics well stocked! House well heated, even extra blankets and hot water bottles. Would book and stay again.

Long weekend in Taupo to do the Aramex walk
Nice bright clean (mostly) and warm. Some views out across to the lake and the sun poured in all afternoon. All bedrooms were warm and pleasant except the central bedroom with3 single beds but it had its own tv and it was fine.
The bbq drip tray was full of fat and rubbish and caught on fire, the fire extinguisher was empty and didnt work, this could have ended very badly and ruined a lot of good steak. The pool is great with good instructions on filling and emptying but the bottom was slimy so we had to empty, clean and refill. Apart from these 2 issues, it was better than expected, for a large house it was nice a warm, with lots of nice touches. Plenty of blankets, very well stocked kitchen, and nice quiet neighbourhood, would definitely book again for a group holiday.

The house is very spacious and well equipped.
It has enough rooms and bathrooms to accommodate a few families. The lounge is also very big and comfortably furnished, so you can spend time together.

Great for a group
Our group of 2 families with older teenagers had a great stay at this property. It is very spacious (bigger than it looks in the photos), and there was plenty of space for everyone. 3 bathrooms is a huge bonus too! We would happily stay here again.

Great extended family option
This property was well suited to catching up with family with children aged 5-12. Toys occupied the younger ones, board games for the older, and thermal pool for all! A big living area, lovely sun-soaked deck, and gorgeous sunsets were all appreciated.

More feedback than a review we lived our stay in this house. Super warm great for kids . All id like to say is maybe clean up the pool area it wasnt very clean or nice looking . A little work would make the world of difference to that area.

Taupo relay race weekend
Great place to stay for a big group. 12 of us fit in here no bother. Big rooms. Big social space and backyard. Easy drive to the centre of town. Hot pool is class! Would stay again.

Perfect house for a big family.
We really enjoyed our stay here. As we had a young baby with us, it’s great that the house is in two wings so you can all socialize one end and have the baby sleeping in the other. It is a very warm house in summer. The size is fantastic. Having 3 full sized bathrooms is great. My only slightly negative is that it was very dusty behind the beds and some spots of the house - nothing a good spring clean wont fix. We would highly recommend this place to stay for others.

Loved our stay!
We found the house to be perfect for our large family group. Particularly loved the outdoor area for the children. It was so good to have three bathrooms. The bedrooms were very spacious and the lounge was a great hang out area. The whole family want to book for another stay at some time in the future.

The home was well set out to accommodate a large family.
Overall stay was awesome. Although we didn't use two bedrooms (because our mokos went of to stay with other family members that had booked homes in Taupo . Thats the two rooms to the right of the house as you go up the hall way. I couldn't find the light switch for the light over the table and I didn't turn of the polite for the gas heater. Either i did not read the directions properly or I was doing it wrong. Left the house clean, just how we found it.( i hope) Only use 3 of the rooms. We did not use the stove because we ate out most of the time we were there. We did not use anything in the cupboards . Thank you so much for letting us stay at your holiday home. The spa was great for our old bones which we enjoyed having a soak. We drop the keys off around 10 am. We are now back at our house in Hastings.

Great big House perfect for large family groups
Hey guys,
We had a great time and stay. House was close to town and a beautiful short walk to the lake. It was a great size for our large group with plenty of beds and living areas to relax altogether. Kitchen had an awesome stock of dishes and utensils.
Low points- oven cleaner not cleaned out of oven, alot of cockroaches like 10+ good sized ones, mouse droppings under the couch/chairs.
