Die Zimmer sind ausreichend eingerichtet und verfügen über eine solide Ausstattung. Die Lage ist super, wenn man zu Fuß in Linz unterwegs sein möchte und das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht.
Leider war es in den Zimmern wahnsinnig warm und stickig, da man weder das Fenster richtig öffnen konnte, noch gab es eine Lüftung oder Ähnliches. Es fehlt zudem ein wenig an Charme in den Zimmern, was für einen kurzen Aufenthalt aber nicht weiter schlimm ist, wenn auch ein bisschen zu teuer für das, was man insgesamt bekommt. Leider war auch das Frühstücksbuffet nicht ausreichend für die Anzahl der Gäste. Als wir gegen 9:30 Uhr zum Frühstück gekommen sind, war kaum noch etwas da - es wurde auch auf Nachfrage leider nichts nachgefüllt.

Schönes Frühstücksbuffet, alles frisch, gute Auswahl, vegane Alternativen zu Milch vorhanden. Ganz nette Atmosphäre und Einrichtung.

The room is very tidy and comfortable. The location is very good (close to both the central station and in a walking distance to the city center). The breakfast is amazing!

Located in the center of the city, this hotel is quite close to the old city center as well. However, expect a 15-20 minutes walk till you get to the old Rathaus or the Mozart Haus.
The breakfast was very good, abundant and diversified. The staff was very friendly.
Parking places are quite small. I was lucky I found a place close to the garage entrance door.

I liked Kolpinghaus a lot. It was a masterclass in doing simple things well. My room was a good size, comfortable, clean, and well thought out. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. It had a good location close to the centre.
Kolpinghaus was great value for money.
There was nothing really wrong with Kolpinghaus at all. However, it is important to appreciate what it is not.
It is a comfortable well run basic hotel, not a luxury one. It you are looking for lots of fancy touches, designer chocolates on pillows etc then it is probably not for you.
It is also does not have the atmosphere of a backpackers hostel, although this could have something to do with COVID. If you are looking to meet lots of independent travelers, this may not be the place for you.
