Great location

The location is nice. The parking is a little confusing to get to. The room was nice. Just a little things like the door sticks. Not sure they put too many coat paint. The bathroom good be bigger. The shower was definitely really small and out dated. Over the location is really nice. We were able to walk across the street to river walk. There place we can walk to.

We were impressed with the warm staff, especially Lisa. She made us feel so welcome!

Check in was an absolute mess. The day before arrival I got ten or so identical emails and messages prompting me to check in online. Figured it was a bug so I followed the link in one of them. Upon arrival I was told that I had booked ten rooms and the type of room I had actually booked was not available. Wasted almost an hour sorting the situation. Unclear who messed up, hotels.com or the actual hotel. Who knows. I don’t understand why this has to be so complicated. I pay for a room, hotel gives me the room I paid for. Does not seem complicated.

I was offered a King bed river view room as an upgrade at my online check-in, so I added that upgrade. When I got there to check in, I still had to wait in line and wait for more than ten minutes for the desk agent to take down my driver's license even though I had uploaded that when I checked in online(???) When she handed me my keys, I asked, and she assured me that yes, it was a river-view room. After dragging all of our things up to the 16th floor we find that it was not a river-view room. I called down to inquire and was put on hold. After about 6 minutes of no response I hung up and went down to the lobby, dragging all of our stuff along with us. After another ten minutes of her telling me there were no river-view rooms available (then why was I offered one at my on-line and pointless check-in?) she finally tells me they were able to 'upgrade' us to a river-view room with a queen bed and when I asked how a queen bed was an upgrade from a king bed, she said it was a suite. The room was not a suite, it was a regular room with a queen bed and a tiny bathroom - no extra space to qualify it as a 'suite'. Overall the room didn't feel super clean, the outlets, phone, etc. all seemed dusty and everything was dingy overall. Not impressed with this room overall for over $400 - at least it had a river-view (FINALLY) but the room overall was not in any way an 'upgrade' when I reserved and paid for a King Room with a river-view.

We checked in and as soon as we walked in, none of the lights worked. They were all unplugged. Once the lights were on, we found left over trash from the previous guest. We were “upgraded” to another room but it was the same room on a different floor.

Brandy and Andrea front desk ladies are wonderful. You’re lucky to have those two greeting your guests. Thank you

This room is the best room I’ve stayed in since I’ve been coming here. The tv is bigger, the bathroom is more updated. I love it!!!

This is a great hotel

Very clean and nice facility. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Very OLD and outdated guest room, hallway, building. Bathroom very old and very small. Toilet ran most of the night. Definitely not what we expected for this significant price point.

Based on price, exceeded expectations. Would stay there again in a heart beat!

I LOVED the views from my 22nd fl. suite!! Additionally, ALL staff encounterd were courteous, knowledgeable and very welcoming and helpful!

The bed wasn’t comfortable at all. The drain in the shower wasn’t draining. Restaurant staff were not friendly or inviting like the staff at the front desk. Parking garage was not discounted and over priced for guests. The location was great and I appreciated the historic connections.

I liked the location and our room had a great view of the city.

The menu for the dining room for dinner is a little skimpy. But the food was good.

Accomodating staff

VERY comfortable beds. Staff is great, room was nice, and breakfast was reasonably priced. Hotel location convenient, a short walk to riverfront and to free public transportation which we used multiple times to get around the city. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stayed started in the first room with no heat. They knew the room had an issue as maintenance came to the room. They moved us to the next room and the tub wouldn't drain. The second person to shower had to stand in water from previous person. Coffee machine in room was broke. We paid $350 for the night and i expected better for that price point.

Average hotel

Great room, great view. Upgraded to river front. Awsome. Tiny bathroom with shower only. I like baths. People mover next door.

Stay was great Only stayed overnight. Everyone from the front desk to the maintenance desk were very accommodating.

Staff made multiple mistakes through booking my reservations, losing my package for the weekend and charging me during this trip. I'll never stay here again.

I had a great time enjoy the jazz feast with a spectacular view of the Detroit River and Hart Plaza! Just a couple of minor complaints: I never have an ironing board after requesting it. Also, I wish my room had a comforter instead of a thin blanket.

Came for the jazz festival. Place was clean. Breakfast is not complimentary but we didn't know that until we had a plate started at the breakfast buffet and saw a really small sign in front of the eggs saying the buffet was $14.99. If there are other people up there the sign is blocked from view until you are right up there with a plate. Should have a bigger sign at the entrance of the dining room. It was a pretty average buffet for that price. Parking is expensive there as well. Be sure to add that to your budget when looking for a place to stay. The room was nice and clean. Fridge but no microwave. The staff is helpful. Our room had a nice shower.

The staff was very helpful with directions off the property and very accommodating with our extra needs

Front desk receptionist was very nice and helpful, the only complaint was that the shower drain was either incredibly slow or just mostly clogged and with barely and inch clearance, you couldn't run the shower for very long without fear of flooding the bathroom.
