The staff welcome was very pleasant. The room was old and needed maintenance. Wall clock was not functioning & bed side tables were not operating.

My only issue was a faulty chair that i reported on day 1 of 4 it was not fixed or replaced other than that everything else was although old was acceptable. Would probably stay there again

Mayfair on Cavell’s first impressions were a little bit underwhelming, with old world charm being straight out of the 70’s - however, it was warm, comfy, cosy and safe. The bathtub was lovely, the room spacious, the staff even put the heaters on for us as we had organised a later check in. Great value for money, centrally located - Cavell grew on us & we can’t wait to book again.

Trying to get transport was hard until u got the right one I highly recommend 13Cabs please dont use Hobart taxi service very unlabell

The 2 units we stayed in were both tired and in need of an upgrade.

Owner and staff are friendly. Has parking and you need a car due to distance uphill from centre. While the room was spacious, the property is very dated (probably needed a refurb 15 years ago!). It's ok at the right price.

It was exactly what myself & 2 daughters needed for the night as we had a wedding in city. There is only one complaint there were 3 of us & in the fridge was 2 tiny little milk containers, not even enough for one coffee, so we had to get Uber Eats to get a decent coffee.

The hosts were lovely. However we did have to ring at the service desk as no one was around. They came quickly thereafter.
Although dated, the place was very comfortable and well equiped. It was quiet and easy access to town. Be warned Hobart is very hilly away from the city centre. If you have difficulty walking best to hire a car or catch buses.

I had to change my booking due to a family funeral, and the hotel staff were understanding and accommodating. Our stay there was very comfortable. I highly recommend Mayfair on Cavell. Lovely, spacious room and spa bath.

Location was good provided you had your own transport,very hilly area so walking was limited.
Servicing of the room was virtually none existent.
Rooms are very tired and of urgent need of updating.
We stayed here approximately 20yrs ago and nothing has changed carpets and other fixtures and fittings were the same.

Mayfair is a lovely quiet place, very easy to find and access to car parking. It is very handy to Hobart City and my stay was very enjoyable. Bed was very comfy and water pressure awesome

Large suite in convenient location. Roomy. Spacious. Aging. Worn carpets. Tiles missing in shower. Mould in grout. Difficult to open windows. (We had great summer weather). Heaters need repair before cold weather.

It was very small room for 4 people.
Did not see AC . No drinking water or facility. We could hear people talking in ther rooms.

So noisy. You can hear people in the other rooms, the pipes rattle from other people’s rooms. There’s an electronic air purifier that noisily goes off all night. You can hear the traffic from outside. And it smells.

Expected a studio apartment with kitchen but space and kitchen facilities were minimal. The staff were happy to empty the fridge of the mini bar junk so we could use it. Good location for walking to city venues.

The Mayfair is cosy, comfy and great value. Off street parking is provided. I like to joke that instead of staying with mates and risking parking fines every day that it is less expensive to pay to stay at the Mayfair and then explore Hobart by foot. Be warned, parking in Hobart's CBD is expensive and the parking fines are hefty!
