Very lovely place (great bar/beach in walking distance). Super friendly staff, a nice pool to chill and a powerful AC to keep you chilled :)

Curtains and walls inside the bungalow were a bit dirty from loads of dead mosquitoes.

The nature, the pool

We had a good stay because we decided to, but the owners are very arrogeant (that for sure a difference we noticed compared with hotels owned by locals), I saw the previous comments and the owner respond confirm each time that they can’t take a constructive review… It’s the first time I see a hotel with rules that make you feel uncomfortable (ex. No bottled water inside which is good, but they make you pay for the same water you can bring to your room just because you are in the restaurant is kind of weird…) they also never told us that the ocean view room is so far away and up the hill with too many stairs (we have two little ones) and no one helped us with the luggage or even offered to… so if you are ok with a “help yourself” hotel and the stairs don’t bother you then you’re good Also you can’t really enjoy the beautiful pool because of the mosquitoes The bathroom is not well equipped, no shower curtain to keep the water from goin everywhere. In the dressing closet you can’t organize your clothes because there is no shelves. For us the restaurant prices were ridiculously expensive compared with other restaurants nearby, of course they are practicing those prices because if you don’t have a car or a motorbike you don’t really have a choice ! The hotel is isolated which can be good if you look for a very quiet place.

We really enjoyed our time at the pawpaw resort. We were welcomed by a very kind and attentive team, who had great recommendations for activities. Our room was very clean and well equipped. Also it was very convenient that we could fill up our drinking water at the reception. The food at the polepole restaurant, that is part of the resort, is amazing! There is a beautiful pool surrounded by palm trees, perfect for a relaxing swim. We hope to come again soon, thank you for a wonderful time!!

Beautiful resort, great restaurant. Gigantic bungalow, quiet location, beautiful pool.

Limited restaurant hours BUT the chef is the proprietor and he has to run the entire resort. The resort is far from town, the docks, and the airport. This is good as well however because it is a tranquil location.

Amazing views, food was amazing and staff 10/10, very friendly and make you feel welcome. highly recommended this place to anyone, stayed for 7 night enjoyed every second.

The bungalows were big but still cozy. The pool is beautiful and the view is amazing. the staff was friendly, helpful und sweet with the kids. The beach is small and with the most beautiful bar (Cool Bar) on it. We love everything! We book for a week but actually stayed for 12 days.

The menu at the restaurant could have a few more meals for kids.

A few stains in our bed sheets (which didn't bother us too much tough) But mostly how unwelcoming und rude the owners were and the communication with them in general E.g. there is a late check in fee after 11 pm. So it would have been nice to get a heads up on this as we told them that our flight arrives at 10 pm. When we brought this up they told us we should have used their pick up option from the air port so we would have arrived before 11pm.

The resort tries to avoid plastics, which is pretty exceptional in Thailand. You can see wonderful birds, animals, plants and trees on the property. It is close to a patch on the beach from where you can watch the sun rise.

Sullen reception staff, resort offers just the barest of amenities.

Service with a smile

I requested for a taxi to a location just up the road no more than a km away and was charged 400baht for the ride. It was excessive to say the least.

The location was close to the beach. The pool area is nice for sun bathing. There’s a couple of inexpensive spas nearby and a luxury one right up the hill. The calls of nature in the morning is nice.

The way the property handled complaints that went through Booking was the biggest issue for me overall. One of the owners stated (I quote) that I am “opening a can of worms” for a while with Booking. From my perspective, I felt I was getting blamed and that my complaints were not justified or received in a way to better the resort in the future. There was an excuse for everything- even the frog and worm in my room during a shower shortly after check-in. I don’t mind animals though, but I was shocked to find it so soon after a check-in. As another person has stated, tidying up the pool area and making it more comfortable would be nice especially since relaxing is the main focus here.

LOVED this property. Perfect if you are looking for an escape from crowded touristy town, I stayed for a few days to recover from solo traveling. The couple who runs it are incredibly kind and accommodating, and also are chefs who operate the Pole Pole restaurant. Some of the best food I’ve had during my entire time traveling in Thailand.

This is such a lovely place to stay! The setting is beautifully rural & the English speaking hosts are beyond accommodating. The pool is lovely & there’s a small beach with a bar 2 minutes walk away. Would recommend hiring a scooter to get to local restaurants/ bars & attractions.
