Exceptionally beautiful, clean, and comfortable

There is nothing not to like about the Rio Tico

The Lodge is very easy reachable from the coastal road (short dirt road but no issue at all) and the tents are very quiet, nice, clean, spacious and equipped with lights and electricity. We were warmly welcomed by Cees and got valuable information from him. His breakfast is delicious and we had a fantastic dinner in a restaurant which is just 2 minutes by walk away. We also enjoyed very much the early-morning swim at the waterfall which is just some 100 meters down the road.

Very friendly welcome and lovely comfortable room overlooking the tree tops. Delicious breakfast. And a dip in the waterfall was exciting. A perfect spot for a few days relaxation off the beaten track. The local restaurant was good too serving tilapia caught in the river.

Beautiful location with stunning view from balcony. Excellent breakfast of Dutch pancakes. Our host Kees was extremely proactive and helpful during a medical emergency. Loved sleeping in a tent with night sounds.

We were there in November and would have been more comfortable driving the road in a SUV, but did manage in a sedan.

A beautiful place beside a nice river and very close to a waterfall. There are good trails also for hiking. The owner is really kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was one of the best I had in CR, I was also welcomed by a very delicious smoothie. Loved the jungle location. There was a lot to discover, went to the waterfalls at 7 am in the morning, and was the only one, such a great swim, and for once no payment here. Tents were great, all you need, so you're not missing any comforts here. Didn't have mosquito issues. Hosts were nice and helpful. Could have stayed longer to explore the surroundings and do some hikings.

You need to know you need about 15 minutes from the main road to get here, it's a dirt road, I did it with a "normal" car, so it's absolutely doable, just if you want to go here and there, consider you always have to take the road, also don't know how well it can be used during night.

It was a unique experience which was made more enjoyable by the owner.....!! She was very accommodating and helpful. Her “homemade” breakfast was awesome!!
