Cheap and cheerful for overnight stay, would definitely use again. Stairs were a bit of a pain but you get what you pay for I suppose

You can in fact sense it already at the reception, but when going one floor down to the basement, where my room unfortunately was located, it is impossible to miss: the place is literally trembling and shaking whenever the trains on the Tube are on the move - which is very often. People in search of a quiet place to stay should also take notice that the sound of the said trains is also quite considerable, certainly enough to keep light-sleepers awake. Had I had more time in my schedule I absolutely would've searched for other staying options, but unfortunately that would've taken too many of the already few moments of a short trip. The room itself was on an "ok" level when comparing to the other Paddington area hotels: not the smallest, the shower worked fine, the bed was comfy-ish and the tv and wifi also functioned. Anyway, cannot recommend staying at the basement level. Of the other floors I have no idea.

We had a great time staying at the dolphin, it was so close to Paddington station With a quiet park right across the street, and the front desk staff was very helpful! We’re planning to stay there again the next time we come to London.

Even though I was late arriving, and had lost my paperwork earlier, I was still greeted with courtesy and a helpful attitude at the reception desk, which put me at ease. The room was small, but ideal for my short stay with a clean en-suite and ample shower, with hot water. I was able to relax, and sleep in a comfortable bed. The TV worked and the positions of lighting switches and sockets was good. There was a working fridge, (which I didn't use). The Kettle for Tea & Coffee was provided and worked well. I have stayed at The Dolphin Hotel several times and I got the feeling that there has been some improvements made. As a solo short stay visitor, I find The Dolphin offers a good service at a reasonable price for London, but I do advise to book well in advance.

There was a lot of issues e.g. the chargers were hard to get to and we had to move the bedside table, my daughters charger got very warm , the tv didnt work, the shower took ages to warm up and the grate in the bathroom kept falling off and left a hole on the bathroom floor when it did and the water took ages to drain in the shower

Good for the price.

Obviously a budget hotel, i paid close to 200 euro for one night in a family room which was really just a regular room with 5 beds in it. As a result we were cramped. Also did not like the tiny plastic cladded bathroom (and a sink so small ( and half covered by a shelf) you can't even wash your face in it. The breakfast, also in a cramped room, was ok though. Again, if traveling on a budget this would be fine, in my case ai feel I overpaid and should have gotten 2 rooms for the price.

I only needed a bed for the night and it was adequate for that reason. The underground would have woken me at 6am, when it started, if the Gulls had not already. They let me drop my bag early which was great and the staff were very polite. Did not stop for breakfast, so could not tell you much more about the place. Very convenient for Paddington railway station and underground.

Stay away from this hotel, it is awful. We had two single rooms, very very outdated awful interior, flush did not work properly. One was super super tiny - you get anxiety in there. Furthermore you hear the tube like it runs through your room. I would never ever in my life set a foot through this doorstep. The only positive to mention is the friendly staff.

Nice property, good location

The hotel is in a perfect location to travel in London. The staff was also very friendly. Small rooms and bathroom but for the area it is OK. Will recommend to anyone visiting.

Very quiet and comfortable stay. Minutes away from transportation restaurants and anything else you need.

We just stayed for one night, it's not the most fancy hotel of course, and is priced accordingly. Simple room with comfortable beds and friendly staff; that's all we really cared about and they got it right. We arrived slightly before check-in time but they let us check-in anyway. They offered free baggage storage on checkout day as well which meant we could enjoy an extra few hours in london without carrying all our stuff around. It's just a couple of minutes walk from several tube lines and also from the heathrow express. It sits on a very quiet and classically west london little square. Served our needs perfectly.

Good location.

It was alright, however, I was staying on the main floor and could hear every single person coming in and out of the building, as well as the door to breakfast was right outside of my room and would slam constantly every early morning. I grew up with trains so I thought I would be okay with them .... they come every minute. It was constant shaking and loud noises. The room itself was passable, small but appropriate for how cheap it was. The shower was small however typical for a city location. Overall, the room was okay but the noise was horrendous. If you do choose to stay at this site, if they try and put you in the main floor room, I would recommend you ask them for a different room.

Subway ran underneath hotels on that block, which made it shake gently. This was different and not bad, but it is good to know what it is and that it is nothing to worry about. Some people may not do well with it, but if you are aware then you can say, ok this is what it is and be ok with it. Location was good as it was an easy walk to Paddington Station and to Hyde Park.

It’s a comfortable, clean, basic room for the money, can’t be beat. Located on a leafy London block just a stone’s throw from Paddington station, which is 20 mins to Heathrow via Heathrow Express. Staff are courteous and on the ball. Only caveat: some economy rooms are in the basement with a steep flight of descending stairs. Can’t be helped, it’s an old Victorian building, but important to know.

Everyone was helpful with directions.

There is noise from underground train.

Exactly as advertised in the pictures. Amazing central location 1min walk to Paddington station and underground, lots of restaurants within moments. Staff really lovely at breakfast and kept replenishing the breakfast buffet throughout our time at the table. Breakfast included scrambled eggs (which wasn’t in pictures) but no pastries which is what I thought was standard for continental breakfast. Worth noting though that the shower room and toilet is very tiny, and that because it’s a listed building there is no lift so you have to take your suitcases up a lot of narrow stairs. I would stay there again if I had just backpack/carry on bags rather than large suitcases.

We got moved to the sister hotel as The Dolphin was fully booked. Everything was great, clean and comfy. Id requested ground floor which i didnt get but that was fine. I thought id booked 4 single beds and got a bunkbed and a double but i was happy with the room so didnt question it

Overall this is a fine property, but the vibrations and sound of the underground is significant - as you are very close to the Paddington station. Fortunately the Underground does not run during the middle of the night

The hotel is clean and well situated (less than 5mn walk to Paddington station, and restaurants around). There is no lift, the room is very small (only spaces for beds and very few storage space) and it was very hot inside the room. The bathroom is very very small (I was forced to open the door to be able to bend over the sink), so the shower, and shower water flowed extremely slowly. Calm in the night but people in the street under our window early in the morning. Won’t come back.

The cleaning of The room was fine. New Towels and bed made everyday. The bathroom was not good. Very small room so impossible to sit at toilet with long legs. There was No hot water and The waterpreassure was bad so impossible to wash shampoo our of long hair. The indoor blomster was bad. The weather was very hot and The room was SO hot so hard to sleep. Wouldnt recommend this hotel during summer time.

Great staff and all around great stay. There is no air conditioning and no elevator. Even so, it was still nice for the value and in a safe and concubines location

Best of all sercvice was exelence

Quick check in which I did online. Staff member on reception was friendly. Noisy outside the building. Inside there was a bunch of teenagers being very loud and one said something racist. Could hear everyone in the corridor late at night/early morning. Did not appreciate someone from housekeeping shouting through the door at me asking when I was leaving.
