Great place to stay!

There's no window! And the room had a terrible smell--not dirty or mildewy, but chemical-y. Gah. Awful.

Cool rooms (albeit small for the price of the room), beautiful lobby, check in was easy. I did see a few roaches outside my room though.

Came here with my niece and brother. Great time amazing staff. Weekend are filled with activities for adults to do. Great atmosphere will stay here again.

If you want a quiet place to sleep on a weekend, stay away. They have a DJ in the bar until 3 AM and the bass line was inescapable. In addition, some device was beeping in the hallway. Front desk did not answer or return my call about it. Breakfast offerings are limited. The sausage frittata was tiny and not at all tasty, but the sandwich was very good. Otherwise, everything was adequate. Service was good.

We really enjoyed the vibe of this hotel. The retro yet modern look was great, and we had no idea that The Patio would be such a party! We lucked into “Salsa Sunday,” and it was really fun. Also, the location is amazing, and downtown Durham is an awesome place to explore.

Very nice hotel Mondays are off night. No Barr definitely need to come back when things are more exciting.

Slight hiccup during check-in (apparently reservations via Hotels.com are hard for them to find) led to them not having the room I’d requested, so we got a nice upgrade to the BEST room right off of the pool deck. The drinks at the poolside bar were a little disappointing but that’s really the only knock

I love the rooms, cool design, and especially the bathrooms. Great shower, lovely toiletries, nice layout, sparkling clean, cool lighting, great ventilation, tons of towels. A/C was really comfortable. Why important? With dew point it was over 100 muggy degrees in Durham, but the room was comfy. Wish my unit at home was as efficient. Desk staff were great coming and leaving. Good walkable food choices close by with delivery available and I liked the Mediterranean restaurant on site. The only negatives were I couldn’t reach anyone when calling the main number to use the options for front desk and housekeeping, just voice mail. Also, the kind gentleman at the front desk suggested when I checked in that I stay in a room NOT facing the pool, but I was with younger family and wanted a room next to them. To be fair I was given options, but the parties at night were] extremely loud. I’ll still go back, just choose a different part of the building. My family members had fun.

I was greeted with a smile! My room was clean & spacious. I enjoyed the Rooftop pool & DJ. I’ll definitely stay here again when I visit my daughter (Duke School of Medicine)

They opened the roof top pool to public and had DJ playing late into eve. We were there for family trip with kids specially for the pool and were really frustrated.

I was not allowed in the pool area because I brought a open container from my paid for room.I had to purchase all beverages from the hotel.

Staff, Zaire and pool manager, was extremely helpful!

We absolutely loved our stay this past week! We were well taken care of. This trip was for my wife's birthday. The manager and the staff were very accommodating in our special requests. The studio room was very clean and the views of the city during sunset and sunrise were fantastic. We would love to have another staycation here and we would recommend this hotel to any friends looking to do the same. The ONLY downside of the stay was the breakfast that was offered. It was very limited and not even remotely up to par to the upscale, mid- century modern aesthetic the hotel offered. If the breakfast was made fresh, from scratch. This hotel would truly be a standout in downtown Durham.

Loved this hotel! Right in the heart of downtown, it was perfect. The rooftop bar/pool was cool, but the pool is a little small. But that’s not a big deal because the environment is fun! I truly loved it here and can’t wait to be back

Overall, great place to stay! Definitely fun and hip. Staff were friendly and everything was clean. Patio food/ drinks and breakfast were tasty. If you’re staying over the weekend (at least over the summer), the patio has a dj that plays until 10, so expect it to be pretty loud until then. Looking forward to my next stay!

I stayed Here while visiting a friend. Very retro looking hotel. I will Stay here again when i visit Next time. Front desk staff was great. Restaurant staff was great. Parking was easy. Overall, great hotel and location.

Dank and cramped room. Hotel offers no more than a bed and proximity at unreasonably high price.

A door fell off the tracks and injured me. Never stay there. It is unsafe and they will not provide a refund.

I paid for parking then had to pay again when the QR code was expired I had to pay again ( $40 $67.50). I have pictures of the receipts.

Great unique location with a retro feel with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The area in Durham is very walkable with a great variety of bars, restaurants and cafes.
