Our recent experience with this booking.com property, for which we paid a premium rate well in advance, was notably below expectations. Upon arrival, initial communication with our host was markedly challenging, leading to considerable difficulty in accessing the property. Despite multiple phone calls and liaisons with various contacts, our entry into the estate was significantly delayed. Once inside, we faced further confusion regarding our allocated unit, culminating in an unexpected additional wait of an hour. This was followed by the revelation that our unit was still being vacated and cleaned, necessitating a further four-hour delay. This inconvenience forced us to temporarily store our luggage in an unaffiliated unit and seek alternative accommodation for the interim. Thankfully, the unit, once available, was clean and adequately sized for our group of five, contributing to a generally satisfactory remainder of our stay. In light of these initial difficulties, we sought and were promised compensation from the host, who initially appeared understanding. Regrettably, post-stay efforts to follow up on this agreement have been met with a disheartening lack of response, despite repeated attempts by both ourselves and booking.com. This lack of communication is not only disappointing but also reflects poorly on the professionalism of the hosting service. Overall, while the location was average, the service and management of our booking were distinctly subpar.
