Overall the hotel was exactly as advertised. Amazing view on the ocean,walking distance to everything including the aquarium which was fun. Only thing I didn’t understand was the billing I’m used to hotels putting a refundable deposit on your card not sure why theirs was $1000, seems odd…..

We had a bay-view room, and the view was amazing. The waves were crashing right below us. I would not stay here without a bay-view room. The hotel is centrally located in Cannery Row. There is a minimal continental breakfast, but it is only served in your room (read tip). There is no dining room. There are no ice machines but they will bring it to your room (read tip). There is no parking lot, only valet (read tip). The front desk was always friendly and they did have wine and cheese hour. A pet peeve of mine with all hotels; why are the beds so high? It does not mean comfort. The room was very spacious, but needed a larger table for breakfast.

Where do I start... I booked this hotel room for our honeymoon. I had called ahead of our arrival to ask for an ocean facing room. Upon arrival we were told sorry, you booked through a third party. Our room facing the street was very loud at night, the bar across the street was heavy with partying people into the bar hour. The rates were high but we figured based on the photos that it was going to be a romantic and beautiful stay. Imagine our surprise when the room lacked from what the photos depicted... The room was very very small... The shower was horrible, zero water pressure. Bathroom was dated and filled with rusted fixtures in the shower. The decor was super dated. No amenities, no ice, no vending machines to even grab a water The front desk staff acted as if we were bothering them, rude and not welcoming at all. The fireplace in the lobby when not lit filled the lobby and hallways with a very off putting smell of smoke, when I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk she didn't seemed interested at all. It was so heavy in the air, I asked if she was sure something wasn't still lit. Best part of this stay... the valet boys were all darling and very helpful Worst part..$1250.00 for three nights. Super disappointed.

One of our absolute favorite hotels in NorCal. Happy to bring friends visiting from Australia to Monterey and stay at The Spindrift. Pricy but the views are world class!

The staff is fantastic! They’re very helpful, and seem happy to help. When we asked for things like ice or extra coffee pods/sugar, they brought them to our room very quickly. The views from this room are so incredible. The hotel provides binoculars to watch the sea life. We saw so many seals! The only “negatives” I have, and they’re so minor, are just that the skylight windows desperately need dusting, and the cover to the heating grate is hanging loose. Absolutely fabulous, though!

It felt like home. Very welcoming. Staff exceptionally cordial and accommodating. Loved the location and loved the room with a view. We were in Monterey for a special personal event and the SpinDrift made it even more special. Thank you.

Amazing hotel, spacious room. It was warm the day we got there and there is no a/c. Windows do open and offer a nice breeze just wish they had screens. Bed was very firm if you like that. Bay view was gorgeous!!!!

The location was great, the room spacious and the inclusion of the in-room breakfast was SUCH a bonus. Along with the wine/cheese hour. Just a lovely place!

I like, very much, that they serve breakfast and bring it to your room. I do miss, though, the full breakfast like we had the last time we stayed here instead of a continental one. The breakfast was always late and not very good. The front desk was not efficient and we waited more than 30 minutes for our valet parked car. The room was nice. The bathroom ok. Bathtub shower combination was fine. I prefer separate shower stall.

We came for the aquarium as my grandson had never been. We also wanted to spend some time on the beach. I just wanted a hotel that would feel special and wouldn't require driving or walking long distances.

The Hotel located beachfront. It is in a really great location in Cannery Row. The Staff was really friendly and helpful during the entire stay. They parked our rented car and picked it up from garage, promptly every time. We would love to return one day.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were always friendly. The room was beautiful and the view and weather spectacular. The location right on Cannery Row made it easy to walk to places. We will definitely return.
