My family arrived in the evening for a two night stay at the Monterey Bay Lodge for my daughters birthday.
Pros:
- Economical
- Pool is clean and enjoyable for kids
- Close to the beach, local park and coffee shops
- Patio/Balcony is a nice add
Cons:
- Close to the local airport, extremely loud
- Parking lot closes to the gas station is too small, very hard to get in and out.
- Rooms are small
- Floors very dirty, we had to clean it when we arrived.
- Bathroom paint was chipping
- TV is mounted way too high
- Desk chair does not tuck under the desk and sticks out into the room.
- No public bathroom for the pool
- No cushions on the outdoor furniture during the month of November.

Great location.Across from large park with ponds.Easy access to beach.Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf.Pet friendly.
The housekeeping was terrible.First day nothing.Second day,I had to beg for trash removal & towels.Third day they removed our trash.Fourth day nothing.

Property was a clean old school style motor lodge. Convenient location. Could walk to beach and Fishermans wharf. However, did not like the gas station across the street.

Pretty much all tourist sites are within walking distance. The street to the west can be a bit loud at night. Overall, I can recommend a stay at the Monterey Bay Lodge.

Conveniently located to the Aquarium, but next to a gas station and a busy road. Also, there is no air conditioning, and your sliding door opens onto the building's walkway, so you can't sleep with the door open.

The staff at the reception is excellent (I do not remember his name but he is outstanding. 5 stars for him). The hotel is simple but fair enough, with everything and clean and in order. The room did not have air conditioner but we did not need it because it was a cool night.

Beds and pillows are a little too firm (compared to places with pillow top mattresses.)

It's my second time staying here during the week. Place is always quiet. Bed is super comfortable. The king size bed room had a fireplace. Room is roomy. I used to live in Monterey near the lodge so it's a treat when im back to be in my old neighborhood near everything.

Only complaint would be the walls are very thin-heard neighbor snoring and airplane that flew over sounded like it was going to land right above us. Overall, would stay again! Location & price was affordable.
