Great location, nice hotel, healthy breakfast

The location is awesome. Once you’re open your room’s door - you’re already in the Monterey downtown. It’s so joyful to walk in early morning along the ocean shore. We parked our car at the hotel parking earlier than our check in was, and enjoyed our visit to aquarium and good restaurants nearby. The facility is clean and updated, the breakfast is so decent. We’ll definitely come back to this hotel as guests!

This is a brilliant hotel right in the middle of Monterey. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast great. The design of the hotel is quirky and historic which we loved. The family room (2 doubles and a sofa bed) was large and a good space for a family of 4. We opted to put the kids on the large sofa bed and to have a small double bed each as these beds would have been cosy for 2 adults (just a heads up!). It’s easy to walk to all the key areas in town and is near lots of great restaurants and attractions. Our kids were delighted to see sea otters just steps away from the hotel. The free parking is also great. We loved our stay here and felt it was great value for money!

The double beds were small for two tall adults if sharing!

-es gab rund um die Uhr Kaffee und heißes Wasser, so wie Wasser -tolle Lage gleich beim Wasser und nicht weit zum Pier, nach Carmel mit dem Auto 15 Min -alles sauber

-Zimmerausstattung etwas in die Jahre gekommen (Tapete, Teppichboden),hat uns persönlich nicht so zugesagt, aber von der Sauberkeit her top und alles in bester Ordnung

Large room, comfortable beds, very clean, friendly staff, hot and tasty breakfast, convenient walking distance to the aquarium.

Would prefer queen size beds to doubles. Elevator to the parking garage is slow. These were minor issues and we had a great stay!

Locatie is goed. Loopafstand naar de restaurants langs het water. Prima standaard ontbijt. Gratis koffie/thee de gehele dag in de lobby.

Kamers zijn iets wat gehorig maar niet storend. Wij zaten op de begane grond. Kamers zijn ook wat verouderd, maar zijn goed schoon. Prima verblijf voor deze prijs.

Frühstuck war gut

Es hatte kaum Licht im Zimmer, es war kalt und dunkel.

The room smells soooooo bad! It smells like molds. The bed is also not comfortable. The room is also so hot. It feels and looks dirty inside the room.

Bathroom door didn't close properly. The lock didn't work.

Walking distance to Cannery Row. Parking was a plus and the rooms were decently sized. Breakfast was hearty and excellent for what we paid for each night.

The walls are so thin. I can hear my neighbors chit chat.

The location is perfect for a weekend getaway. It’s close to everything- restaurants, shops, aquarium

it is in a great location and we enjoyed the outdoor sitting area.

the only problem we had is that it was a bit noisy. The walls seemed thin. we could hear loud footsteps and the housekeeping cart rolling and we aren’t late sleepers.

somebody else checked into our room, and when we came late at night, initially we were told no rooms available. then they somehow found a smaller room than we booked originally but it had very uncomfortable sofa bed and not very clean linens. we crushed anyway as we had no choice at almost midnight after 6 hours driving. next day we were offered apologies and 30% discount on the room but that was all.

Rooms were clean, property was well maintained, breakfast was good, it was close to the walking path near cannery row, it was a short walk to the aquarium, and parking is under the hotel.

The remodel was nice, but it looked rushed and incomplete. They may be going for a more nautical look, but the bathroom didn't match the theme. It's a little bit picky considering the price was low, but if it was done with more care, it would've put it over the top and above the rest for sure.

Breakfast was impressive. Not just danish and cereal. Biscuts and gravy, eggs, sausage and pancakes were all available. Location was convenient and close to everything on cannery row. Room was great but they could not fulfill the extra pillow request so I had a stiff neck every morning. Bring your own pillows! Needed more covers on the bed since it is winter time. Heater worked well but I would prefer more covers.
