I was disappointed we paid for a courtyard view and had a shipping container as out our window. We also pre paid and they said we didn’t pay and wanted us to pay again when I had the receipt. The young woman at the front desk was very rude. The night supervisor was very nice and gave us breakfast because of the service.

Love the location and the staff was friendly.
Hoyle currently undergoing construction so some parts were old and some parts have been updated. Door to the work out facility was very old and would lock you in from time to time.

I was lied to by the supervisor when I called he give me a rate then at checkout he denied talking to me about the rate I was given. Not happy about that I travel global and would never say anything that wasn’t true.

I typically only write reviews for excellent service but this experience was exceptionally terrible and therefor warrants an honest review as a warning for other potential guests.
I stayed at The Courtyard Merritt for three days in April 2023 while visiting my son stationed at Fort Carson. My younger son was traveling with me and requested a hotel with a pool so I was happy to find a hotel with a pool located close to the army base. When we arrived, everything fell apart. 1. We arrived 30 minutes before 4pm and were made to wait outside as early check-ins are not allowed and there was no seating provided. 2. Check-in software was down so we returned at 4pm to a lobby full of people all waiting to check in. 3. Key cards were a one time use deal, you had to get them reactivated upon leaving the room. 4. Hotel was very understaffed, we were left waiting for smoke breaks to be over to receive assistance. 5. No hot water in our room, staff had me go room to room looking for a room with hot water. I never found one. 6. Standing water in the tub the morning we were leaving, which was the first time the water got warm enough to shower. 7. Very, very slow elevator that started moving before the door was shut. We would have just used the stairs but could not find stairs, an emergency exit or signage for it. 9. EVERYTHING was blamed on a recent electrical fire which was obvious with all the construction taking place...but I doubt that impacted the software and key cards. 10. Hotel smelled overwhelmingly of drywall, texture and paint. 11. All amenities were unavailable, including the pool. 12. When I asked for a small discount on principle since I felt it was unfair to pay full hotel prices for a hotel that was far from fully functional the manager was completely rude and condescending and told me it wasn't her choice to open the hotel back up before it was ready. I will add that the staff were well aware of the hot water and key card issues, it was not just me.

location was good to where i was going. food nearby was very convenient.
pillows were not comfy. at night was loud kids running up and down hallways yelling. I was suppose to have a mountain view room and did not recieve that.

Our first room was near the elevator and very noisy at night but the staff was great and found us another room for our second night.

The linens & comforter & cover were of poor/well used quality. Comforter & cover had not been laundered.

The bed was comfortable.
I couldn't use the bathroom on my first night and the following morning of my stay. There was a leak from the room upstairs through the vent above the toilet. There weren't any other rooms avaliable for me. The only way that I could use the toilet was to put a towel over my head so I didn't get wet from who knows what type of water. The leak was repaired the next day. My second night was OK.
I was not offered any compensation for my inconvenience.
I had to go the front desk 3 times to have my key redone because it wouldn't work.
For the cost of the room it was very disappointing. I've had better rooms at a super 8 motel.

This hotel is located in an excellent location. It is set back off the road so it is a very quiet location yet accessible to highways..
The bathtub needs to be refinished.

This place was very under whelming for the price. This felt like a motel 6 with a face lift. At best it was a super 8 with a face lift. Not even free coffee.

Did not eat there. Everything else was not clean so we were ready to leave and didn’t trust the food based on the hotel uncleanliness
For starters, we requested a certain room type…a 1 BR 2 Queen bed with the living area separated from the bed room part by doors. You guys assured me several times that this is what we would be getting. We walked in and it was not what we had ordered. Then…the hotel was VERY unclean. The hallways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed or steam cleaned in 3 years. The walls in our room had food/drink splashed on it, floors still had pieces of trash, carpet looked like it hadn’t been shampooed in years, tile grout in bathroom was coming up in many places and moldy looking, bathtub was stained and disgusting. I should have known the hotel was bad when the “O” in the sign on the outside of the building was burnt out. I would expect all this at a $39 motel 6, but not a $263 Courtyard.

Good location to the Broadmoor. Easy parking.
Rooms need updating. Carpet had a huge sticky spot, as well as a huge wet spot. unpleasant odor. For 400.00 a night, they need to up their game.

Good location
Had to go to front desk for more towels, even though booking indicated room was for 3 people. They only provided 1 coffee packet for coffee maker, when asked for more, they said to purchase coffee from the Bistro.

They didn’t give us the room type we booked and couldn’t have cared less. I contacted Booking.com and they tried to help. I talked to management the next day and there was no “I am so sorry” or anything just stoneface listening.
The deciding factor that caused us to cancel our reservation that we had for our return through Colorado Springs— they charge for coffee in the lobby. They tried to say it was Marriott policy and it is not. Having stayed at all levels of hotels over the past few years, we have never had anything but complimentary coffee in the hotel lobbies.
Luckily there is a wonderful hotel very close by with an equally good location and pricing.
