Breakfast staff very friendly
Breakfast selection was very poor, had workmen banging about my room on the first night then every night the hotel dog would bark non stop so no chance of an early night. None of the staff spoke very good English as I realised it’s predominantly a hotel for Italian tourists. No information for English speaking tourists at all in reception (bus times etc).No tea/coffee making facilities and a rule of none of your own food or drink in the room despite the bar never open an flights of stairs (outside from the hotel). Last night a group of Italian teen Judo team running riot with no adult supervision so again late up sleep.

great view of the sea, beautiful garden, quiet and peaceful
furniture and/or linens in the room could be updated but otherwise it is clean and comfortable.

location, view, private beach and lunch and dinner were good
I waited to review this place because I wanted to see if I would change my mind, but unfortunately I haven’t.
I stayed for two nights and on my first day, after the beach I had a shower: when I got out the bathroom floor was completely full of water because although I closed firmly the sliding doors, the seal/gasket was faulty and I spent literally half an hour to clean the floor.
After that I tried to open the door and it was stuck: I tried to stay calm and tried multiple times but the door wouldn’t open.
After half an hour, luckily I had my phone with me, I called the concierge and explained the issue.
Apart from very smart questions like: ‘Is there someone in the room with you?’… I mean, why would I call you?
Anyway, finally somebody knocks at the door, they enter and say out loud: There’s nobody here!
So I say that I’m in the bathroom and they start trying to open the door: after a couple of minutes they manage to free me and this elderly man starts shouting (shouting!) at me, repeating over and over again: You don’t close the door! You don’t close the door! Why would you close the door? Why?
Luckily, I speak Italian so calmly I said: Sir, I have the right to close doors in my bedroom.
He got even more upset and kept shouting at me.
By the time, I’ve been saved’, the sun went down and the room was getting darker and darker so I tell him that I can’t turn on the lights.
He looks at the ‘pocket’ on the wall where you put the keys, but nobody told me about it, and starts shouting again at me: Why the keys are not here? where are the keys? where are the keys?
I show him the keys and he snatches them from my hands and puts them in the pocket on the wall and the lights turn on.
He then turns and gets out of the room without saying even ‘goodbye’ but keeps on shouting and berating me while walking away.(by the way, I’m pretty sure he is the owner)
I’m honestly so shocked that I only managed to keep my mouth open looking at the door open.

The only redeeming factor is the scenery which you get anywhere on the island. There was just nothing else to praise
The hotel seems to be family run and there is very little interest or attention to guests. Language is a huge problem and there is no effort made to communicate with guests. the hotel is extremely rundown and in need of a massive facelift. The location is difficult as it is far away from restaurants or the main areas of the island. There is also no room service so all in all not even worthy of a rating of 1. It is a zero rating for me

Excellent location overlooking the Castle and close to the port town. This is a family run hotel so you have to get used to the odd raised voice. However after a day or so you get into the swing of things and the owners are quite funny and accommodating. There are thermal pools and excellent sun bathing areas although a little dated. We were there for a near by wedding so did'nt get to use the facilities much. We were in the rooms at the back in a separate building which is a climb on the first day but the view is breathtaking from these rooms.
Communication was a problem (in English). This hotel could do with updating but it has character also.

An eccentric hotel run by lovey family. Despite limited English, everyone was so helpful. location was perfect for nearby wedding and this hotel has direct accesss to protected swimming space on the coast .
Lots of extra charges (sun loungers, tourist tax, only food from there could be consumed). No iron available when we asked.

Thermal pools were very unique.
You have to pay for the use of a private beach but there is no beach just a jetty. Total rip off.

great views
too many steps to our room , to the beach etc, it would be hopeless for anyone with even moderate mobility issues . Lack of information and help from staff re: buses / taxis , better if there was some info in the room. could have provided bottled water etc in fridge especially as it is such a long way from reception .
location , bit too far from the port area for us .

Very sweet family owned hotel//b&b. I am vegan and they accommodated me pretty well. The view was beautiful. My partner and i walked into old ischia and it was only a 20min walk. Not too hilly, and beautiful scenic walk of the island coast.
