The food is amazing, it is basically Michelin stars standard and I have been to a few Michelin stars restaurant. Beside the quality, there were variety and creativity instead of the typical Ryokan's food. If anything I will be back for the food.

I booked a 61sqm room, yet the bedroom space is rather small. Lots of wasted space in the foyer area which cant really be used. It came with a private onsen so taking up lots of bath room space. They painted the ceiling black and the wall is dark wood, so the room is dark all the time, there isn't enough lights from the outside to brighten up the room. Internal lighting is also bear minimum. Gave a gloomy depressing feel to it. If not because of the food, I don't think I want to be back.

Food and service at meals were good. My room though small was clean.

We wanted to check in before 3pm but was told prior to our trip that check in was only at 3pm. We had just flown into Fukuoka that morning and drove to Yufuin before checking in. We had lunch at Yunotsubo Street, walked around after lunch, did some shopping and found ourselves done at about 2.20pm. We decided to drive to the accommodation which was about 10 mins away to try to see if we could check in. We were told we could not. I asked if we could wait in the dining area which was unoccupied and tucked away from the reception area. Our request was turned down flatly and we were told to come in 5 mins before 3pm. We had no choice but wait in the car. Other than being inflexible, I found the scale of the accommodation to be small with hardly any garden nor grounds to walk around. Use of the public onsen required booking and additional payment is required. It is hard to reach the accommodation if one does not drive although I understand a shuttle service may be available.

Food is great!! Staffs are all super friendly and work from their heart! Cantonese and Korean speaking is available, great for HL and Korean customers. View from room is awesome, you can enjoy onsen with mountain view.
