Great stay. As said previously things are dated. But perfect for us, because so easy to get around on the train. The host was amazing right from the start. Great communication and allowed us to check out a little later which was most appreciated. Thank you.

Marki’s place is in a perfect location, very easy to get around with public transportation and walking distance to places to eat and shop. Her place is great, very clean and has everything you need. She was also very helpful since the beginning, available at all times whenever I had any questions. Totally recommend this place! We have saved her place for next time we visit.

We loved this place. The apartment is small, but perfectly functional and comfortable for our family of four (one 15 yr old and one 10 yr old) who spent our days out touring. We had 2 rooms with 2 beds each and a neat little kitchen to enjoy breakfast onigiri and coffee from the (gourmet) 7-eleven just down the street. The train was a short few minute walk through the neighborhood and gave us easy access for our day trips to Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Disney Sea and TeamLab Planets in Toyosu. After long days, with many crowds, it was a relief to return to this lovely, quieter neighborhood, that still had plenty of restaurant and shopping options. We also appreciated that we could wash and hang our clothes to dry. Thank you Maki! You were a lovely and responsive host. We would definitely stay here again.

Older unit. VERY compact if there are more than two people. Bathroom and kitchen are older but functional. Its a cute neighborhood, very easy to get to JR line train which takes you right into Toyko. The pictures made it seem much brighter, newer and spacious. In actuality, it is quite compact. We had a teen and tween and two adults. There was almost no room to layout and open a medium size suitcase. Towels and bed linens are older.

This apartment is located close to the Komagome station, on the JR line, just a few stops from Shunjuku station and a few more stops from Tokyo station, for those on a JR Pass. It was nice not to be staying in the busy areas of central Tokyo. Apartment itself is spacious by Japanese standards (the dining table in the kitchen where we could all sit together was very much appreciated!), was clean and well-equipped, and had a large-capacity washing machine that did a good job with our laundry. There's a balcony off the back of the apartment that wasn't suitable for sitting out, but was useful for hanging our laundry. Communication with Maki was easy both before and after check-in, which gave us a lot of confidence in our booking. Maki was also really helpful with assisting with anything we needed to ask. As mentioned in the property description, two Japanese gardens are within easy walking distance of the apartment. A really good public bath (onsen) is 15 mins walk away, and there's a good supermarket in a nearby side-street (about 6 minutes walk) in addition to the usual Family Marts, 7-11s and many restaurants. The entranceway to the building isn't well kept and could do with some work (not the fault of the apartment owner), but we had no regrets about choosing the apartment itself. We would stay here again if returning to Tokyo.

This was a nice place to stay. It was clean and quiet. Very close to a train station. Lots of restaurants and connivance stores. I would stay here again.

Really love the area, super convenient and close to the station, which may traveling easy along with detailed instructions from the host which were extremely helpful on our trip 10/10.

We stayed in the apt. For 6 days. It was clean, comfortable and felt like a home away from home. 7-11 and other restaurants were were a few steps away. Went every morning to 7-11 for my latte. A wonderful older gentleman was so nice and helped us find our way around. Maki, the apt. Owner was available if we needed help or guidance. Cannot recommend this apt and location enough. Thank you, Maki. Water pressure was awesome!

We had a good time during our stay. The apartment was completely satisfactory.

The apartment was spotlessly clean with an abundance of bedding and towels. The kitchen and bathroom were great, including the washing machine. Maki was the perfect host, available if we needed her at any moment. The location is fantastic for exploring Tokyo and we jumped on and off at Komagome station with ease. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters.

We are so happy and grateful that we found this place! First and foremost, Maki was simply wonderful. We had a rough beginning to our trip with canceled flights and canceled rental car, which changed a lot, and Maki was helpful and quick to respond during all of that. The place is well situated with a 7-11 and family market, open 24/7, just a block away and some good restaurants near-by. And easily accessible parking for our rental Van. It is also located around the corner from the metro. The place was immaculate when we arrived. It had everything we needed along with comfortable beds and a wonderful shower with great water pressure, which is especially nice. We were here during a heat wave and were so very grateful to find that the A/C worked well. Thank you again Maki!

This little home, near the Komagome JR station, was great for us. This was our first VRBO stay and we will do it again. As this was our first stay at a VRBO property we were apprehensive, but Maki responded quickly and positively to our inquiries. The description indicated no internet, but there WAS internet and very fast. I didn't notice Maki had written the password in the welcome book and asked for it by VRBO message and she responded quickly. As no one was staying the day we checked out, Maki let us leave our bags past our check out time, which made things convenient for us. She corresponded with my wife in Japanese, but also understood my message in English and responded clearly and quickly. Komagome is REAL Japan, not on tourist maps, but a short ride on the JR Yamanote Line to things that ARE on the tourist maps, like Ikebukuro and Ueno.

We loved our time in Komagome. This apartment was great. It's located in a quieter part of Tokyo, but with easy access to the tourist spots. Located next to many shops and restaurants, including fruit stands where we could buy fresh fruit. Also very close to the Yamanote Line. We enjoyed having a refrigerator and laundry machine. Maki was great, gave us very good instructions about how to access the apartment and communication in English was easy. We would absolutely stay here again!

We stayed here a total of seven nights and liked the neighborhood and host. The area has several eating places as well as a supermarket. Going to Tokyo was easy. Komagome is connected to both the JR and Tokyo Metro lines so the 3 day metro pass works well. Kitchen is well equipped and one can cook if they want to. We would stay here again if we were to visit Tokyo and I would recommend this to anyone with kids who would feel cramped in a hotel room

Maki was easy to communicate with and provided check-in procedures that were easy. The apartment was a short walk away from the train station which made it easy to navigate Tokyo.

This was my family's first time visiting Japan. Maki provided excellent instructions to navigate from the airport to her home. She was a wonderful host. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting Tokyo.

We fell in love with the Komagome neighborhood. Maki is organized and responds to all questions quickly. The kids slept well on the foldout sofas. The station is a quick walk away and gives you access to all stations on the Yamanote line. So many options for food in the neighborhood. Really recommend going to the nearby gardens, especially Rikugien. The yakitori shop right next door sells delicious food to go and is very welcoming to foreigners.

Communication with owner was easy- we needed to allow for time difference with communicating- directions to get there were clear, instructions to get in was simple. Great location with easy access to train line. Loved it was close to a 7-11 for early morning coffee run (nothing is open that early). My only suggestion is to have one of the closets for guest use. This little flat is perfect! We enjoyed the location and we were only minutes from the train. We cooked, the kitchen is well equipped. The Wi-Fi was flawless and fast. Maki could not be more accommodating we had question and had responses in seconds!! We will stay again in September! The neighborhood was real cool lots of choice with in steps from the building! There was a very cool thrift shop that had a bit of everything. We ate Indian, Italian,Thai and Japanese all with in meters of our flat! If there were six stars that would be how satisfied we were! Great communication, guide to apartment and Tokyo SO HELPFULL!!!!! As we don’t speak any Japanese and has no idea of Tokyo what so ever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
