Amazing location get away and really special hidden retreat!

Amazing venue, bed and room and gorgeous property. Hosts were excellent and ensured privacy but also there as needed and went above and beyond with small touches left in the room, including cookies, fruit and toiletries left for convenience. Bed amazing and the most gorgeous linens and decor.

Quiet, comfortable, very relaxing and close to all amenities Matakana has to offer - loved it!

The cottage was beautiful. We arrived in the evening and the owners had turned on lights and drawn the curtains, providing a very welcome atmosphere. Cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens, is very spacious with lovely decor, and every detail had been thoughtfully provided - including homemade cookies and granola (yum!) and even a special treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We loved our stay, very relaxing and highly recommend.

really relaxing in a luxurious cottage haven

very private and situated in a park like setting. Every detail was taken care of and to a high standard - nothing was lacking. The bed and bed linen was top notch as was the kitchen fit out which was very generous in the supply of top quality crockery and utensils. Julia went above and beyond.

Wonderful host, beautiful little cottage in a lovely setting

The cottage is beautifully presented - the decor and furnishings are lovely and the kitchen has everything we needed. Julia, our host, left us home made granola, baking , jams and fresh fruit, which was so thoughtful . The grounds are beautiful and it was wonderful. It was such a pleasure to be there.Everything about the place was fantastic . I couldn’t recommend it more highly .

Luxury cottage in a garden setting

The host is so lovely and accomodating. Easy access to the cottage!. It is set in the most beautiful garden surroundings, you wake up to birds singing. The cottage is big, fabulous kitchen, a beautiful bathroom with toiletries (honesty could have been in a five star hotel) and the bed is super comfortable. Lots of room to move around and huge sofa also. It is close to Matakana shops, wineries, the Sculptureum etc.. Loved this place and hope to be back. The host has gone out of her way to make you feel at home..really appreciated.

Very good

Great for a base to explore so many things and places in the area. Can recommend Matakana market, the Sculpturium, Anchor Bay, Port Wells. Peaceful and lovely outlook from the holiday home. Had everything we needed. Good local info provided.

Could have done with a bit more food as a welcome. Only Jam and milk. Paint on windows needs to be scraped off for a better finish.
