Upon checking into our room we found it to smell of stale cigarette smoke. As I went to open the curtains and door to let down fresh air in the curtain broke. There was also a broken reading light which would not turn off - this would have been extremely annoying if we had to use the room and try to sleep. This in itself was not a problem, as I thought it would be a simple resolution to go to reception and request a new room. My friend and I went to reception to report the issues with the room at 5.15pm. A male member of staff greeted us and asked if he could helped and we explained the smell in the room and broken curtain and politely asked if we could change rooms. First he didn’t apologise or acknowledge either of these issues at all he said he would have someone come and fix the curtain, we said that really wasn’t the problem it was the terrible cigarette smell and said as non smokers we were really put off by the smell and wouldn’t be able to sleep in it. He then proceeded to call us “weird” for not smoking, laughed and walked off. We were quite put out by this, when he returned a few minutes later he said he would have housekeeping come and spray air freshener in the room. We said no we really would like a new clean room as we had already tried opening the doors etc to let fresh air in. We were then told we would have to wait 20 mins for the Front of House Manager. After 30 mins wait I asked why we had to wait and if another staff member could allocate us a new room but they said no we had to wait for the FOH Manager. The manager arrived after 40 minutes of waiting around. She didn’t acknowledge or apologise to use but we were finally allocated a new room. The new room was lovely and clean and did not smell and later on a staff member did bring us a complimentary bottle of wine to apologise. However the whole interaction in dealing with the complaint was very strange and badly managed.

The room was lovely, very comfortable bed . We got the all inclusive option, so enjoyed cocktails by the pool through out the day Lots of options of the food 👍

The first room they gave us, was adjoining with another so we could hear the people next to us. They had a baby who cried through out the night, we asked to move rooms, but were told we would have to pay for an upgrade. Ruined our entire first day/night untill we moved rooms.

Location is good. Not in the heart of the city but you can take a bus in front of the hotel or taxi. Atmosphere is relaxing that you can hear the birds sing. Beach is close to the buildings. Breakfast was good enough. There were a lot to choose. Every night there is live performance at the garden. Its a good way to have fun. Receptionist Fatima is my favorite person. She is a very kind, smiling person. We will be back next summer

The hotel doesnt offer many things to do but they say next year it will get bigger and there will be spa, sport center etc. The final thing is i hate the band singing last night. They didnt even perform. The singer was not in the mood. Im very sad that hotel paid them for nothing.

Bassenget og stranda. Alle i resepsjon var hyggelige, barnehagen og barnehagepersonell der var veldig bra. Aktivitets ansvarlig for spesielt basseng aktiviteter var veldig flinke.

Svært dårlig mat, alltid det samme, tørr mat. Nesten ingenting hadde smak, ingen god merking. I forhold til pris så er det mye mer valuta for pengene i tyrkia og hellas for eksempel. Hotellrommene hadde skitne gulv selv om det ble vasket hver dag, dårlig vanntrykk og ikke vasket balkong.

Beautiful property with tons of investment and loads of potential.

The breakfast was shocking and I had food taken from underneath me and wasn’t allowed to eat as we got to the breakfast just before closing. I paid £300 per night for a suite and I expect to be able to eat breakfast before the actual closing time. The food itself that I did manage was awful and wasn’t missing much to be honest. And on to the worse part. The entire top floor or suits smelt of sewage. Our room was unbearable we had to leave after the first 2 days and 1 night as we couldn’t sleep with the smell of sewage all night. They knew it was an issue and they did nothing to stop it. The ground in the children’s play area is dangerous and uneven which caused my disabled son to twist his ankle. It was just a bad stay from beginning to end and it didn’t need to be that way. This place don’t care about families. You are treated like the lower class by all staff if you go there with kids. Such a shame. We will never go again and would give durres a swerve in general because of the treatment and bad facilities.

This is an amazing hotel, and the staff is so nice! They helped us book a car for sightseeing, that was brought to the hotel. There are several pools, and activities to join in on. And the restaurants are usually open when you need a snack or meal. The breakfast was nice, and we really enjoyed sitting outside when eating. The area surrounding the hotel is amazing! It´s in the middle of a tropical garden. Also Durres is a really nice place!

This hotel was still under construction when we came, and it probably will be for a while. They should have informed about that, because the beach bars were closed and it was some noice. It didn´t bother us, but I know it bothered other guests. We asked for a late check out because of it, and got it. So we are all happy and will come back. The hotel is situated outside the city, so there are limited other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. But the whole area is being build, so that too will probably change in very little time.

The staff is nice and polite. Rooms are fine. The beach is clean and good for children to play on the sand. The sunsets by the beach are the best. The hotel pool is very nice and the kid’s pool is perfect. (The other pool, Tropical’s pool is louder and noisy for who wants to relax) Best part is the kids club and the staff working there is amazing.

Some areas of the restaurant and one of the hotel buildings don’t have stroller’s accessibility, but there are only few stairs to walk up, so it’s not a big deal. At the buffet restaurant food was good, but there is some room for improvement in food display and restaurant table setups as they were very plain.

We had really great time in Sol Tropikal Durres, staff was very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed the food, the pool was amazing, kids club as well. We would love to come back for a longer stay :)

The property is all brand new and redone. The rooms were exceptionally well done, new and clean. The cleaning staff was very good at cleaning rooms before lunch time so children could rest for their nap. There are now two pools in the property one is esclusively for hotel guests. There were several daily activities like aqua gym, volleyball and a kid’s club and kid’s disco. There was quite a selection of restaurants and bars. There was the buffer restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner, an Italian restaurant called citarella which was italian and amazing and also Fins restaurant. The staff all spoke english and were very helpful. We loved our stay here and are planning to come again very soon.

The hotel was very clean and our hotel room Was very nice. The pool was also lovely and it was aesthetically pleasing. The rooms were cleaned everyday and you as many beach towels as you wanted. The animators were also fun and they did have a few fun activities planned such as a acqua gym, yoga and Albanian lessons.

The location isn’t the best it’s off a highway on one side and the beach on the other. Apart from the hotel there’s isn’t much else to do. They could invest in a gym and spa facilities. The restaurant staff were also not helpful. They would often get things wrong and correct you in your own language. We often had to keep explaining things to them. They also charged you for water which was a bit mean. We were half board and so that meant we only had access to the hotel buffet. This was below average for both breakfast and dinner they definitely need to improve on this. We did have the option and did use the hotels other Italian restaurant this was slightly better but as we were half board we had to pay for this and it was not cheap.

We were very pleased. The rooms are nice, clean. The staff is very friendly. They have live music every night. Not to mention how nice the teachers are at the Kids Club. Our daughter couldn't wait for Kids Club every day. I would love to come back to them again for a vacation.

the food was just okay. there is no gym facility and honestly the grounds are not as pictures here in booking.com. it is still being renovated/refurbished so there are no beach walkways, bungalow, umbrellas etc as pictured at all which was a bit disappointing as I was going off the pictures I saw and the reviews when I booked.

Everything was excellent.

The rooms were very clean, so were the beds and duvets. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

There is not much variety of food. even some times we were hungry and had to eat at the restaurant outside. the descriptions of the dishes do not write, you do not know what you are eating. The pool was very nice, but the edges of the ceramics of the pool are very sharp. it was very dangerous. I had to tell my kids all the time be careful. my daughter's tummy is very badly scratched health and safe is very bad.

Very energetic and friendly staff. Kids club was extremely engaging and Julie and Caroline were superb with the kids. My two kids didn’t want to leave. Will definitely book again.

The property is very new and many things are til be erected and finessed. It’s a work in progress with great potential.

Room was really nice and clean, staff was friendly. Food was good.

Most of the resort is under construction, so there is a noise when sitting at the swimming pool, bars are closed, toilet next to the pool is closed as well (doors are open, but there is no water = cannot flush the toilet or wash hands, so this is little disgusting). Beach area does not look at all like on the pictures, it is either under construction or dirty. I think it would be fair to mention this in the description, as according to the visualisation pictures you are planning longer renovation (middle of the hotel area, where new buildings are supposed to be in the future).

a lot of the resort is being restored, or under construction at the moment, which I wouldn’t expect, the beach is not well maintain (dirty). the beach bar is closed and looks abandoned.
