One of our favourite hotels during our Japan trip. The quad room was large and comfortable. It was well laid out and included a balcony. The onsen was nice as was the private onsen. The library area was lovely and the kids enjoyed the free snacks and treats. Breakfast was good and the evening we had dinner, staff were helpful and accommodating about food issues (1 vegetarian and 1 child with food sensory issues). The location is excellent, just a short, flat walk from Gora station.

Not much. These are VERY minor: (1) there's only one key per room which is tricky when you have gender separated onsen; (2) its a bit of a rabbit warren to get from one tower to the other (where the onsen are located) and (3) while there's alcohol available in the evening there is no wine. But these are all extremely minor and I would 100% stay here again.

I like the ambiance of tatami room and the Yukata provided for everyone to wear and walk around the hotel. The free drinks and happy hours was organised in a very successful way. Beautiful foot spa and Japanese garden with wood fire heater. Onsen was clean and nice with Sekkisui skin care to pamper the ladies.

Very beautiful place, with a nice lounge on the 2nd level (free alcoholic drinks from 7pm to 9pm, daily), an outdoor place where you can dip your feet into the foot bath or chill around the fire place. There’s also private onsens which are on a first-come-first-serve basis (limited to 30 mins for each use). Place is quiet and clean, the rooms are huge.

The breakfast and dinner choices are repetitive (buffet style), though the dishes are pretty delicious. Aside from food, was hoping that the onsen was outdoor instead of indoor.

It’s spacious and has good facilities! The location is convenient too!

Great facilities and very clean. The private onsen were great and never had to wait long to use them. The snacks and free drinks were much appreciated. Buffet restaurant was great and food was high quality.

Expensive hotel but walking distance to the train Station, IF U are in to walking somewhat. Beautiful sauna Private was really nice, had free happy hours, was worth it for the price.

we loved the spacious rooms, the private onsen, the outdoor foot bath and fire pit, as well as all the free drinks (alcohol, coffee, soft drinks) and desserts. the staff were very helpful and let us store our luggage before we checked in and after we checked out. the location is perfect, in between the open air museum and the cable car. it’s also right beside Gora Brewery and Bar which is a great restaurant!

Breakfast was amazing and the onsen amazing! I love the sweets table they left out… it’s these little details that make this place so special!

Nice Breakfast and dinner with many selections - better go early as they do not refill towards the end of the eating period. Onsen, library and outdoor areas are nice. Location is about 4 minutes walk to Gora train station.

Breakfast was very nice, offered both western and Japanese options. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was very nice, spacious and we loved the tub in our room. It was a very nice relaxing getaway. Would stay again.

Check out was a bit early. We thankfully had to leave early anyways, so we checked out after breakfast but we generally like to stay until 11am at most hotels.

Beautiful hotel, with onsen on site which was really appreciated after spending a day exploring. Felt like I was staying at a day spa. Food was delicious.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable to sleep on, but if you like a hard mattress that probably won’t bother you.

The food was good but not as expected.

Complimenatry beverage offered at the library was not enough. When I tired to drink in that area, some drinks were already ran out.

An awesome getaway from Tokyo. The room was specious, the onsen was wonderful, and breakfast was diverse and tasty.

Stayed one night at Hakone Yutowa on 12/13/2022. The reception was very warm and helpful. All front desk clerks were so polite. I dropped off my luggage in the morning before check-in time and they take care of it and put it into my room for me. The location is very good. Only a short walk from Gora station. Room is very clean and cozy with tatami floor. I like the hot spring bath very much and did several times during my stay. Although it is a public bath, there was not that many people so really really enjoyed it. I like their food as well. Dinner and breakfast are all buffet style so you have lots of varieties. Very good sake and beer for dinner. I felt so relax stay in this wonderful hotel. Highly recommended!

Terrific location just a few minutes walk from the train/bus/cable car station. The library lounge is very homey and the hotel has drink dispensers and snacks. The condominiums are quite modern and clean. The staff were extremely friendly. Very pleasant place, quite popular for Japanese families with young children. Dinner buffet was a little pricey but delicious and good quality. Will definitely book this hotel again if we visit Hakone.

Condominiums have access to a washing machine but the hours you can use it are quite strict. If you plan to use it, just double check the rules earlier. According to my experience, you cannot use it the last night of your stay, late at night (i.e. 9pm).
