Rooms were very clean and we loved the private onsen on our balcony. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful; they assisted us in booking everything from taxis to private Onsen experiences at other resorts. The Kaiseki meals were amazing and we loved the free drinks / refreshments section (and the ability to roam the hotel in the Yakutas that the hotel provided). The complimentary wine, tea, snacks, refreshments etc. that were provided in each room was a very nice touch.
The hotel was very quiet, all of our needs were attended to, and it was just what we needed after the craziness of Tokyo.
The hotel doesn't have many central amenities / facilities. There was no resort Onsen, gym, etc. (although the hotel indicated that they were in the process of building one). It was also a bit difficult to reach - we had to take the bus (with a lot of luggage) from Odawara station to reach the hotel. There is nothing within walking distance - if you want to leave the resort you need to reserve a taxi in advance or try to figure out the timetable to get picked up by public bus.
The hotel rates were also a bit pricey / not the best value. You may be able to get more "bang" for your buck elsewhere.

We had a suite and the room was huge and very comfortable. We loved the private onsen and all of the amenities. From moment of check in felt very taken care of.
The dinner was okay and prefer a buffet breakfast

Exceptional, genuinely engaged staff. Rooms were lovely and the in room onsen was fantastic.
Staff mapped out a great one day itinerary for us, which was spot on.
Property has its own bridge that leads the road up to the property.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We have had three Michelin starred dinners so far, and the Dinner at the hotel restaurant (which does not have a star) was better than all three Michelin dinners.
They refunded breakfast cost because we were leaving very early in the morning. They did so without us requesting, which was appreciated. Further, they made a small takeaway breakfast for us to take with us, again, without us even requesting it.
Location was slightly away from the nearest town but secluded peace of mind outweighs that distance. Location is not to be considered as a major issue.

The meals were incredible and the staff was above and beyond friendly. The hot springs in the room were a perfect touch.
If I had to pick one thing to improve I would say transportation to / from the train station would be helpful

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel to the moment we left, our stay at Kinnotake was pure bliss. I would book this again in a heart beat.
Everything was perfect.

just amazing. I was worried the outside terrace private Bath was small, but actually it fits 2 average size people
so bloody expensive and is not even a 5-star hotel, the picture of the pool must have been taken just after cleaning, the water was really dirty and not well maintained
4.7
Delicious kaiseki ryōri dinner, with staff being very accomodating to my shrimp allergy. Beautiful, spacious room with private onsen. Great location in Hakone, with the entrance bridge having a cool view of the Tozan mountain train.
4.7
What a fantastic experience! The hospitality and service was amazing. The room with the open bath was very relaxing, we enjoyed our massage, but the kaiseki meals were by far the best part. Do not hesitate to book!
Can't think of anything.
4.7
The service was amazing and I felt immediately welcomed. The room was beyond my expectations. Everything was so relaxing, and the private onsen was such an amazing feature.
I had a western breakfast, which was only slightly above average. While the food was good, I feel like the service experience is more of the focus for the food.
4.7
Everything. This place is amazing. Tranquil and relaxing, with access to onsens at all hours. The staff are absolutely amazing and friendly, providing the best service I've ever seen. 12/10.
The leaving part. In the words of a famous man, I'll be back.

Breakfast was far more lovely and relaxing than I ever could have dreamed! The room we selected on the 4th floor was huge, and the private hotspring was scenic, relaxing, and perfect, and we slept soundly and comfortably. We also enjoyed dinner, the complimentary bar, and the in-room minibar.
Honestly, nothing to complain about. Just be aware it does take some time and thought to reach if coming straight from the Narita Airport. Two trains and a taxi in our case and several hours (due to missing our trains). If you pre-purchase tickets for the Narita Express on Shinkansen, make sure to choose the right terminal for the NEX, and know if your ticket is reserved or flexible for any train!

The staff here are top notch. They’re so helpful, accommodating and pleasant. The property is peaceful and serene. There’s beautiful views to see from your room, the lounge, and the dining area. The food was excellent and presented really well. You could tell they were using seasonal ingredients and really out for the the effort to curate the menu. We stayed a few nights here as part of our honeymoon trip and I would stay longer if we could!
4.7
The service standards were fantastic. The staff were very attentive and patient, and (at least for the staff attending to us during our stay) were able to communicate fluently in English, so we felt at ease asking whatever questions we had. The room is every bit as impressive as it looks in the photos and there were plenty of complimentary items in the room. Yukatas and slippers were also provided for wearing around the hotel. The food for breakfast and dinner were both also excellent.
Nothing.

You could not be treated better elsewhere! The staff are amazing! So happy to please! Coupons for discounted shuttle, free bar, amazing food! Your own onsen! The rooms are amazing. We loved it all!
Not a didn’t like but more advice.. Don’t catch the train to tonosawa. It has so many stairs and isn’t luggage friendly. Catch a cab from hakone.
4.7
Amazing hotel, very well maintained, extremely attentive staff, and overall great value. Dinner is a must to try.
Maybe, the lack of a shuttle bus, but getting there by a public bus or taxi is not that hard.
